It was a short contract he signed with Chelsea he only has one year left so if he is to come in on a years loan he is free to join at the end of it.

Strange one really, Would be a kick in the teeth to Ajer if he is behind him in the pecking order. Would this put to bed any hope of us signing Duverne do you think ED?

Ajer is miles ahead of him in his development.}

On the topic duverne. Is there any news on the progress of the bid?

{Ed007's Note - Lille have tabled a second bid for Duverne but the players not keen on moving there and Lens want him to stay for another year but playing another year in the 2nd division doesn't seem to appeal to him. With Boyata's injury I'm wondering if Celtic are will to wait on what I suspect could be a long drawn out affair because of Lens stance.}

Just heard from a friend of mine that Paddy Roberts is not included in the Man City, pre season tour squad. My friend is a bit of a city fanatic and normally doesn't miss much that goes on there, maybe good news for us?

We are open to wishful thinking re wee paddy, in uo there with the best of them, but we need to not take anything at face value.

I will be gutted if paddy doesn't return. I know I'm not alone there.
