Can I ask am I the only one that thinks Mulgrew has had enough chances to show he should not be in any Celtic team?

Agree2 Disagree2

10 Jul 2015 19:24:27
This should be the starting line up or there abouts for Wednesday! Is VVD carrying a knock or out the door because if neither he needs to gel with boyata

Agree0 Disagree2

10 Jul 2015 19:26:07
I'd go with janko right back and lustig in middle and mulgrew left back in the dressing room!

Agree5 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 20:18:32
Time some accept Ronny likes mulgrew and lustig isn't a centre back and isn't going to be unless about 4 people are injured

Agree0 Disagree3

10 Jul 2015 21:16:02
Jim 1972…Lustig is as much as a centre back as Chuck-It Mulgrew

Agree2 Disagree1

10 Jul 2015 21:24:45
When was the last time he played centre back?just because it's where he would prefer to play allegedly doesn't mean he will play there with us.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 21:42:32
Charlie will not be in the starting eleven if we still have all the players together. He is no more than a utility player that can fill in for others. Not a bad gig if you can get it! Hail Hail

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 21:58:00
I think that Mulgrew gives his all for Celtic everytime he plays. Doesn't get the chance to hold down any one position and when he fills in different roles adapts well. To play in multiple positions so consistently is very difficult to do. Easy to complain and blame the fact you get shifted about and asked to fulfill different roles each time you play. He never complains, he never makes excuses, he just gives his all.

Ronny rates him, Strachan rates him so what do they see others dont?

Agree3 Disagree2

10 Jul 2015 22:51:39
I just can't see what he brings to the club yes I guess he does give his all but sometimes some ones best is FAR from good enough

tony2bhoy

i guess IT IS good enough for those that matter, IE the coaches, the manager and Pedro (if a new contract is forthcoming); Kwaj makes a fine point too…when you play in so many positions you do become scrutinised (perhaps over scrutinised) and he cannot "master" any one position due to the various roles he is deployed in

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - You're using other people's opinion instead of your own as an argument against someone expressing their own opinion. So there's no players in football you don't rate?}

10 Jul 2015 23:16:10
Think he is much better in the middle of defence than he is in midfield,that is faint praise but he is a much better player than Roy Aitken was.

Sos bhoy VVD is suspended from the inter Milan game

{Ed007's Note - I forgot about that... Du'h!!!!}

Cheers mate at least some one addressed the biggest thing worth talking about on this thread l!

If we have true ambition then players like Mulgrew, Forest, Ambrose et al need to be punted. It's a cruel game but with Celtic it should be if your not good enough that's just too bad for you. If not, we stay pish and players who cannot step up get a game.

I would keep Charlie as a squad player but would take thirty bob for Ambrose and Forrest.

That's no each, just thirty bob fir the two.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2015 15:05:20
ED,

Do you rate charlie mulgrew relative to Celtic's realisable ambitions and current squad and budget? Would you give him a new deal?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The only thing Mulgrew has going for him is that he can play in a variety of positions but he is only good enough to cover domestically. I would wait until January and offer him a year's extension. He's getting to the age where that's all we should be offering player.}

10 Jul 2015 14:47:29
Pescara have made Brazilian striker Jonathas available with interest being shown by Celtic, Hamburg, Monaco & Napoli. Roma have dropped their interest in the player.

10 Jul 2015 16:57:18
I hope we push the boat out for him if it comes to it ill drive. Cheers for the info Ed

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - (yes)

10 Jul 2015 17:18:18
Maybe we can offer Pescara a swap deal with Stokes? lol

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Jul 2015 17:54:58
Ed, do u know if this guy is any good?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I don't mate, sorry.

10 Jul 2015 18:10:56
Watched him a few games that they played the big boys on ssn and he is a player. Reminds me of Pierre/ Poor mans Diego Costa. He spoke well about us in May but I would imagine he would pick the rest over us. If this is the reason we never got Vossen or are looking at Hooper then I will he over the moon. Think he is perfect for us for both Europe and Domestic game. If we had Him, Griffiths and Ciftci for our Lone striker we would be so much stronger than last year.

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Jul 2015 18:29:23
Mikalustig why would we want hooper back have you seen him lately? He's a bus. He left for greener pastures and found mud leave him where he is

10 Jul 2015 18:49:38
JONATHAS Did not return for the first day of training today it's thought that Monaco are interested in him as well

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Jul 2015 18:56:03
Jonathas? C'mon people be real. I know were aloud to dream but that's all we seem to do, then we get hit with the Cifti's. If Pedro was going to sign Jonathas(or knew he had chance)he'da kept the 7 jersey for the moneyspinner. Sorry to be a dreamcrusher but our board are laughing at us

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 19:26:14
We still have the no. 9 jersey to dish out RyderBrown. Fear not.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Griffiths is No.9.}

10 Jul 2015 19:30:56
Fingers crossed. Would be ideal for Europe and would more than do a job in the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 20:44:53
I thought Griffiths was 28 ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Nah mate, he's been given the no.9 for this season.}

10 Jul 2015 21:11:51

{Ed007's Note - Don't worry it might fall off when you wash it.}

10 Jul 2015 21:17:59
Maybe Jonathas will be given the number 28 Chris!!

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 22:31:52
Jonathas looks good in that edited highlights video,but then scepsovic looked sensational in his edited highlights video last year.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 23:43:47
Aindoh, you should see Amido Balde's edited highlights video …makes Messi look like an amateur

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - At least Balde's not a cheat though, he'll always have that over Messi.}

11 Jul 2015 00:31:42
Messi is not a cheat ,he had treatment for a recognised medical condition.,oh sorry you're talking about him cheating on his tax returns,ok then.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Bollocks. He would have led a normal life without the treatment but he'd never have been an athlete.}

11 Jul 2015 04:14:43
Fair play to him, if only everyone that suppd a performance enhancer in the 90's could be identified. :) youd be hangerd oot tae dry
fair enough don't know how many keepy ups you could of managed . 1000 mabey ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Fair play to him? Are you serious? What about fair play to Rangers, they got off scot free with using EBTs and making illegal payments to players.}

11 Jul 2015 09:30:21
Let's not get into this cheating argument you'll be surprised the amount of "athletes" at the top of their game that take some sort of steroid or "help" from their private doctor that's for an "illness". Through my own bodybuilding I know the ins and outs of hgh and steroids and there's a lot of different types of testosterones that isn't tested for.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest. Read up on Dr. Fuentes and you'll see Messi's (and others) cheating wasn't just consigned to when he was young and taking HGH that he didn't need to take.}

11 Jul 2015 12:20:55
If Dr Fuentes is the same doctor I'm thinking of. His lab got raided during the Euros and there was blood bags found I won't say what nation it is but the competition and the name of the country plus names of the players were found but obviously because of the high profiles they were "lost".

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It wasn't just the national team that were involved and remember Fuentes was Lance Armstrong's doctor. The blood bags were destroyed by order of the Spanish court, they weren't lost. Have a read at this, and this is a Barca fan writing.

See Denayer wants to leave city we should push the boat out and get this guy in asap Then if VVD leaves he would be no great loss

Believable0 Unbelievable1

10 Jul 2015 13:21:03
Not sure bout the truth of this story in the press. Says he wants to leave City if not guaranteed first team football. He'd be very lucky to get into the first team never mind be guaranteed a place!

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 13:23:48
No chance mate! He's in the Belgium national team now! He'll have plenty of offers in EPL or abroad! We done well for him and he done well for us,but he won't come back to the shitty league we play in! And it just proves how shite it is with that result from tommy(mourinho)wrights diddy team last nite! Embarssing!

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 14:07:38
We should through a 5m bid in to test the water! It's as safe an investment as we could get!

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Jul 2015 16:29:30
That was obviously a joke there mate wasn't it? 5 million!! On one player! A can hear Lawells heart racing from here lol

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 19:27:14
5m probably wouldn't buy him but now joke if he wants to leave I'd be happy to Ity us spending that sort of cash on a known quality like denayer!

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 22:34:26
He already said he did'nt want to come back here on loan as he wanted to try a stronger league,he hardly going to come here full time,or did I read that quote wrong

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2015 09:00:00
Maybe so but if we qualify for the CL it might be different story but I don't expect us to sign him! At least he would be wanted here and he seems more interested in football than money!

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2015 12:35:57
A £5m fee will render Lawell a gibbering, troubled wreck.

More chance of my cat developing a love for the works of Solzhenitsyn than us spending that kind of cash.
