Read today there may be a chance we can keep Benkovic on loan next season, would be great to see him and big Ajer as our two first choice CBs next season. I think they would make a great pairing.

Benkovic, at Celtic I would take with a bit of salt.
BR is supposed to say he might let Benkovic stay at Celtic and it is said that is BR way of apologising for leaving us mid season .
I think that'stupid.

2.) 06 Apr 2019 00:15:00
I don't know what the alternatives are at Leicester, but I can believe that Brendan might leave Benkovic at Celtic for another season or half season, because of the injury history of the player, nothing to do with an apology just common sense.

3.) 06 Apr 2019 09:17:31
Rodgers making a veiled apology because of how he left? Don't make me laugh.
No-one loves Brendan like Brendan loves Brendan and he won't do anything to help us if it doesn't help him. HH.

4.) 06 Apr 2019 11:46:38
as much as i love big benkovic i would rather he went back to his parent club. I don't WANT ANY THING FROM THAT RAT RODGERS. and that's the last i say or print the Judas's name. HH.

We need at least 6 new players this summer
LB
RB
CH
DM
CAM
ST

I have the fear now with Lennon back as manager and Lawells recent comments that we will be lucky to see 3 new players arrive hope I'm wrong.

1.) 27 May 2019 13:02:58
‘No major rebuild needed for Celtic’ says Peter Lawwell.
There you have it, the biscuit tin is sealed.

2.) 27 May 2019 13:06:55
We don't need a LB, DM or a ST.

3.) 27 May 2019 13:13:13
Couple points.
1 he didn't actually say that.
2 no major rebuild is needed.
A good clear out and 5 or 6 in will be fine.

4.) 27 May 2019 13:14:58
Think about it logically.

We have a team who have just won a treble treble, which is something that has never been achieved before.

Yes our team needs strengthened to stay ahead of the other teams but Lawwell is right when he says we don't need major rebuilding as there are plenty of players at the club who still have a lot to offer and plenty who can still improve further.

On the most part we have a young squad and there are not many who are 30+.

5.) 27 May 2019 13:42:08
We have a good core of players and about 12 should leave. Hopefully PL backs NL and goes for at least 5 quality players and no more projects! Great weekend heads still thumping. HH🍀.

6.) 27 May 2019 19:07:34
If we buy 6 or 8 new first team players we might as well hand over the 3 trophies at the start of the season for no manager could manage so many changes in personnel.
We have many quality youth and young players who must be given more responsibility or else they will lose their momentum . Three or four new quality players for the key positions would be ideal if we can get them .
When, the great manager, in many people's minds, B R bought in about six players most of them were not fit to wear a Celtic top. I would much prefer N L to buy quality rather than quantity .
I know the media will and are linking us with Tom, Dick and Harry from leagues all over Europe . Remember media are not our friends.

Lets all get behind lenny now, he was not my first choice for the job but no matter who is in charge I want Celtic to win. So let's get on with it hail hail.

1.) 26 May 2019 05:11:39
Woke up to the news that Lennon was given the job.
Like most i was hoping for a big name but in my heart I always knew this would be the outcome.

Each and everyone of us knows where the team needs strengthend, let's pray we invest the funds we are given wisely.

The hatred towards our club, fans and in particular our manager from across the city should forge our resolve.

This is 2019 and we are the global Celtic family.

I like Eds choice of Marcelo Bielsa but if Leeds get up to the over inflated league then there is no chance of him coming to us. I would just give Lenny the job and let's just get on with planning ahead for next season.

timbhoy74

1.) 14 Apr 2019 06:43:44
I don't know much about the guy but Norwich will win a mince league.

2.) 14 Apr 2019 08:28:30
How much do you reckon bielsa is on a week? Have Leeds got some big money backers?

3.) 14 Apr 2019 09:46:44
Doesn’t matter what he’s being paid we can afford it especially for that one position, it’s attracting the big names to Scotland that’s the issue but bielsa, avb, benitez anyone of them I’d be very happy.

4.) 14 Apr 2019 12:11:39
£100k a week he’s in from what I hear funded by a businessman associated with Leeds.

5.) 14 Apr 2019 16:10:46
I think it’s actually 250k a month closer to 60k a week he’s being paid. it’s 3mill a year.

Not sure who the next manager is going to be but think everyone agrees it is going to be one huge decision. I would love to see either Roberto Martinez or AVB who I believe would both do a great job. However I think it will be Neil Lennon and as much as he is a legend at Celtic I really think we need to look at someone in the mould of the two mentioned above.

1.) 09 Apr 2019 09:11:56
Wouldn't want martinez. Don't rate him as a manager and have no idea how he got the Belgium job. Everton fans were delighted when he left. A very overrated manager impo. I have a feeling it will be Lennon but hope I'm wrong.

2.) 09 Apr 2019 09:04:09
Would take Martinez over avb any day.

3.) 09 Apr 2019 11:11:26
AVB is the more successful club manager out of both of them Mally.
You are right Dc Everton fans didn't like Martinez but Swansea and Wigan fans loved him.

4.) 09 Apr 2019 14:34:30
I've heard rumour Martinez is a done deal. Was a few weeks ago but the person who told me is normally very accurate. Would rather see him than likes of Neil etc.

5.) 09 Apr 2019 16:08:30
It’s not going to be Lennon that’s for sure if it was going to be Lennon he’d already have the job permanently, he’s not an unknown quantity he would of been given the job but he hasn’t and the reason for that is they have others in mind well ahead of Lennon he was only taken on as he was available and we needed someone in fast made sense, the new manager will be announced a few days after the season ends.

Been following the site for a while now and never really posted much. Would just like to say Ed you do a great job. Anyway just wanted to say yes we where awful the other night but getting this far was a good achievement. Let's focus on the league now and hopefully going on to achieve another treble.

If Turnbull signs then good if not we move on as has been stated. The offer made to the player was a good one and for a 19 year old is a very good wage.

Don't really care if Boyata goes good riddance. Personally think he is overated and I would rather get behind the players who want to play for us.

Buster 88 agree with most of what you said, I will reserve my judgement of Lennon until we see what goes on in the new season. We all know the board took the easy option to appoint Lennon and he got us through a difficult period. Surely it was the time again to appoint another manager with fresh ideas. Ed has mentioned Philip Cocu who would have been a better choice and he did a great job at PSV and had them playing good flowing football. let's hope we get rid of a lot of the deadwood at the club and let's invest in 4 or 5 quality players that can go straight into the first team. No more project plsyers we have enough young emerging talent to compliment the first team.

Be sad to see you go Ed hopefully you stay on and keep up the good work. Still a bit disappointed after the news of Lennon becoming the manager and the board taking the easy option. Hail Hail.

{Ed007's Note - Cheers mate.}

I would say the one who stands out for me is the boy who plays for Ajax Matthijs De Ligt.

Gedceltic great manager but there is absolutely no way he is going to leave Wolves. They are a club that are only going to improve over the next few years.
