By no means is this me trying to make excuses as we'll still win this one but why was there not enough time to take our corner? Surely with lasley being down after the 50/50 with Samaras, the goal and the 13 fouls that would merit more than 11 seconds injury time?

1.) No point quibbling about injury time. Five minutes still to go but well played Motherwell, celtic didn't deserve to win this game. No point listing players who were poor tonight, very few with pass marks. It's not acceptable to only show urgency in the last fifteen minutes of the game, yet another luck lustre performance. Poor.

Dont really post much anymore but still keep an eye on everything. Anyway just want to say how pleased I am for big Tam. Takes so much stick for fitness etc but today, in a game like that he produces nothing short of brilliance in the 90th minute.

Yes, the final minute of a gruelling game. Also I feel credit is due to the gaffer. Two nil down at half time, it would be so easy to try make some changes but until injury time the only sub was when Izzy went off in the first half. Delighted with the bhoys this season. The impending treble will be well deserved.

Refreshing to see a manager that can see problems early and make the change that affects the game and not for the first time this season well done that man.

Just been reading the poppy debate. My view is simply if you sign up to be governed by an organisation, then you should take heed of said organisations rules. Having said that, I would very much be behind the sfa publicly stating they will stand firm with the fa on this and wear the poppies, only to turn up with no poppies while the English do and they get a points deduction on their own 😂

I know a lot of you don't like international football but I cannot wait for this game. Hope broony being back does the trick.

the poppy is a strange one …. i remember getting bulldozed at celtic park for wearing one …i still wear one …it's a strange world.

2.) 05 Nov 2016 13:24:40
I always wear a poppy for 2 reasons . My mum lost 2 sisters in the Clydebank Blitz . I don't recall any soldier being asked what religion he was only going to defend. I know there are some " colleagues "of mine that frown upon this. I don't care it's not their ants who were killed it was mine . were a poppy . or don't it's up to each person .

3.) 11 Nov 2016 17:21:30
I never wear a poppy because of what the British Army did in my Country . They murdered men woman and children after verifying their religion .
To this date they are still telling lies about their behaviour and committing perjury costing the British people hundreds of millions . If we could have the truth we could put the past behind us.

What a difference a couple of weeks make. So refreshing to see everyone on here so much more upbeat about our team. Also good to see all the new folk joining in, just shows that everyone's getting excited about the season ahead when they are searching for rumours and stumbling across our wee forum. Roll on Wednesday now.

Hail Hail.

Mikeybhoy it seems many of the old negative posters have broken the lead in their pencil and are remaining silent, long may it last .
The biggest thing as far as I can see is the confidence that B R has managed to build in the squad.

I mind when this 'banter' page used to be full of banter and a good laugh. Nowadays it just seems the majority of the posts are utter garbage to let off steam during what must be that time of month. It's not even August yet and all we see is complaint after complaint. Buying the right players takes time. Finding buyers for underperforming players takes even longer. All you girls in twist your knickers and get behind the team. And as for the poster who would rather not qualify for the champions league? That's just ridiculous. The buzz about the place, the experience for our current players, the potential of higher quality players willing to sign, the money involved to help us improve our squad. Let's just ditch all of that and concentrate on the betfred cup then yeah?

mikeybhoy

1.) 27 Jul 2016 13:03:58
i was thinking the jist of this this morning. fully agree.

2.) 27 Jul 2016 13:09:54
mikeybhoy, there are idiots and energy-draining people everywhere you look, not only in a forum.
Ignore them, they just want to drag you down to their level.

Hail Hail.

3.) 27 Jul 2016 13:34:44
Well said mikeybhoy.

The only thing I would say is leave the betfred cup alone it's a prestigious tournament lol.
How anyone can say they would prefer that to the CL is crazy.

Support the team and celebrate the result, don't care who we play but if it's a choice between Dortmund and Ayr I know what I would be more excited about.

{Ed007's Note - And Dortmund would rather play the 4th place team in England than Celtic - we're the same as Ayr Utd to the elite European clubs and always will be.}

4.) 27 Jul 2016 13:57:47
That's not how I see celtic but everyone's entitled to an opinion.

Seen many an interview with world class players ie Messi, iniesta, xavi, pique, pirlo to name a few and they rave about celtic.
Not sure they compare us to Ayr utd.

{Ed007's Note - It's not an opinion, it's a fact, otherwise we'd be involved in the breakaway league talks. Soundbites during pre/post match interviews hardly counts as raving about Celtic btw, and anyway, I'm talking about the men who run the clubs and run football - the people that matter.}

5.) 27 Jul 2016 14:13:09
Well said mikey, I've been on this forum for yrs and stopped posting due to the constant bitching and whining of the so called greatest supporters in the world, I remember the old guard on here, that would always be like that, banter and patter, these days it seems that if you say anything positive there's always someone actually critisizing positive posts. i actually fear for teirney as if he has a few bad games the (real fans) are on his back, same as forrest, same as brown, seems like its a seige mentality for some.

6.) 27 Jul 2016 14:24:11
The more negative you are the more welcome you are made . In my old age stupidity I thought that Celtic forums should support the Celtic club, and be a site Celtic fans could go to be cheered up and lifted.

{Ed007's Note - There's plenty of other forums you can go that are full of starry eyed idiots who'll tell you everything's brilliant.}

7.) 27 Jul 2016 14:36:04
Not sure what facts back you up Ed if any and we would never be involved in breakaway talks but that's a reflection on the league not the club. The breakaway is purely financial and that's a fact and again not a reflection of the club.

Sorry if it's not to your standards or the people that matters but Ayr utd think your missing my point.

As I said earlier the CL could be taken out our hands by the big guns so at least then you can be happy.

{Ed007's Note - If the breakway league is purely financial why isn't a club that Messi, iniesta, xavi, pique, pirlo rave about involved?
The Celtic board have taken the CL out of our hands but you keep blaming everyone else if it suits.}

8.) 27 Jul 2016 15:31:36
Who am I blaming Ed? And for what?
I'm saying i love my team and yes I big us up so what.
Are we in the same league financially as man city etc of course not but are we a smaller club not in my opinion you think different clearly but that's your opinion.

Your losing focus of my point IF the breakaway happens I'm sure Barcelona and Messi will be there remember g14.

I also don't blame the board for taking the same risks the gers took, never have never will.

{Ed007's Note - I've no idea what you're talking about. YOU are saying Celtic are a bigger club than Man City, I'm telling you how the people running the game see it, not me.}

9.) 27 Jul 2016 16:02:48
You seem really down on your team lol
But whatever dude that's your perspective then fair play I don't agree tho.

It was no u21 pal. Does coaching staff not wear trackies? The guy was about in his fortys. Celtic tracksuit and bomber jacket. He never even ate while Eboue scoffed a curry and messed about on his phone without speaking very much to him.

It's not like it's a back street greasy takeaway. Cooked properly, authentic Indian curries are healthy. I don't see that as a problem to be fair. He was also in with a club official so neither does BR I'd assume.

Was in Mr Singhs for lunch earlier and Eboue came in for a curry with some guy in a Celtic trackie. Didn't seem to speak much English at all. Hopefully he's working on that as it will surely help him settle in then hit the ground running come pre season.

Did we not just spend £3m on a teenager? Maybe I'm missing something here but I'm rather happy with the squad we have at the moment. Hopefully we can get a couple of upgrades to the current first team in early in the summer then after qualification to the CL is sorted maybe another one or two quality players in to have a better go at the group stages this time. Also regarding Dembele and the general consensus he'll be off in the summer. If we qualify for the group stages why would he not want to stay? More cl experience and another season developing here would surely benefit his chances of going to the world cup with France?

I reckon if we both win our next four games we'll be 25 ahead with 33 up for grabs still so need them to drop a few more points this month but there is every possibility of that happening.

Tasty, why are you so obsessed with what Rangers are doing? That's two posts I've seen now where you seem more concerned with them than anything else. They are signing out of contract players for no or very little fees. Yes it may be strengthening their team but to be fair that would not have been a difficult task. There is no doubting we need a few players in but we are talking a whole different market. We need quality players to take us forward, this costs a lot of money and cannot be rushed and made an arse of. Also we offer people deals and need to wait on answers before the deal gets done or we can move on to the next target. Mark my words, rangers are not a threat. By the time September comes we will be much stronger, fitter and getting used to the new managers way. I'd be more concerned about getting a winger and defender in before Astana than what that mob can do.

I doubt our transfer strategy will be based on that Muppet signing for them. Do we need a new midfielder? Most likely. Is it because they signed Barton? No. People should stop buying into the msm spin, Rangers are of no threat to us this season. Oh and I doubt Barton will be 'bossing' every other midfield, especially not big Mo Donnati at Hamilton.
