Heard the deal for Simunovic could be dead in the water with dinamo demanding a 40% sell on fee with celtic only willing to go to 25%. Anybody eles heard this?

mcmillana

1.) 31 Aug 2015 09:55:08
They must have seen our transfers to the epl over the past few seasons and wanting a bigger slice of the pie.

Speaking to a good friend of mine who is from Hull, he's under the impression that Sammy is off to Hull. Antony

mcmillana

1.) I' drive him down maself

GunnieBhoy

2.) I love Sammy, and he's a dying breed. Not too many players nowadays who play for the badge + medal over money + fame, but I just feel he needs a fresh challenge. He seems to have lost all interest. I have no doubt he loves Celtic, but he doesn't seem to be doing it anymore. He's always been a confidence player, but I don't think anything could lift his morale quite like a new club!

{Ed007's Note - Borussia Monchengladbach, Fiorentina and Lazio all watched Samaras play against Barcelona on Wednesday night.}

3.) Hopefully they spent 85 mins admiring the catering facilities and only took in the end of the game then Ed, cause the 5 mins he showed up he played a stormer lol.

{Ed007's Note - Come next month if he hasn't signed a new contract I would sell him for £500k if needs must, same with Ledley. They either sign a new contract, find a team that will buy them them now or spend the rest of the season in the stands.
We will win the league anyway and are favourites for the cup, no Samaras or Ledley is going to change that. If they aren't going to sign extensions give a couple of youngsters a chance instead, why should we help to keep Samaras match-fit for the WC and his next club or Ledley for his next club.
Continuing to select them will have no long-term benefit for the club if they are planning on leaving in the summer. I think Samaras is looking to let his contract wind down and play at the WC as a free agent to see if he catches anyone's eye whilst playing in Brazil.}

4.) I'll help u GunnieBhoy, I'll pack his bags and road trip with you, be glad to see the back of him! As for ledley I'm with Ed, if he's not going to sign, its time to get rid in Jan would much rather see youth get a game than a guy that doesn't want to be here. Ed apart from Cardiff is anyone else looking at him?

S

{Ed007's Note - The only other team I know of having any interest is Everton. Malky MacKay has denied Cardiff have any interest in signing Ledley but I'm not buying that. I think as January gets closer he will pop up on a few mid-table EPL team's radars.}

5.) His time is up we can't afford having him hanging around for another 3 years

6.) At times i'd value him at 100 millon. At times I'd rather play Chris killen than him. Thanks for the memories Jesus Freddie mercury. Now be gone with you!
ParadiseAndy

7.) Ed

Spot on with the idea of selling these 2 if they don't sign a new contract before the new year. We signed Ledley on a free and he has been a good servant in his time. I have never liked Sammy but again he has been a good servant but his time is up and time to let him go.

Niall

8.) The way sammy has been playing recently I would, if its hull, transport him there the way del boy travelled. jimbhoy.

9.) Get him tae Hull!

JJ

10.) Looking like he's off good best news I've heard in a long time

11.) Samaras deserves a new contract, just for getting us into the Champions League proper last season.
Without his goals in the qualifying rounds we wouldn't have collected £23 million.

Alright Ed, We have been linked with a few British strikers, who do you think is our most realistic target? I wouldn't mind James Vaughan but I don't think he is worth the £6 million price tag they are quoting. Antony

mcmillana

{Ed007's Note - Vaughan isn't worth £600k never mind £6million. He is a very average player at best and personally I would be more than disappointed if we paid anywhere near that for him, in fact I would be more than disappointed if we signed him at all.
But the facts of the matter are that Vaughan has been asked if he would be interested in a move through a second party - he isn't overly keen on Scotland but feels it is a chance to play in the champions league. There is definitely strong interest but I can't comment on the fee apart from my personal opinion, sorry.}

1.) Im with Ed on this vaughan scenario, if he signs its the final straw for me, ., .kbarry

2.) 6 million just simply can't be a serious number when you consider how average Vaughan is. It must be papers taking Tom Kite.

3.) 03 Dec 2013 21:24:57
Who do you think is a more realistic striker to sign in Jan with lennon saying he wants a brittish type striker and I don't think Vaughen is worth 6 mil either that why I said I don't think he's worth that. Antony

{Ed007's Note -The problem with buying British players these days is that you need to pay British prices. The transfer fees in England are so inflated these days if CFC were serious about spending that kind of money I would rather go for Jordan Rhodes, it would only be his £40k a week wages that could be problematic.
I wouldn't take much heed of this talk of big moves in January, it is very difficult to complete transfers in January, prices are inflated and it's only other team's squad players that fancy a move, the only positive is that it could be a player looking to boost his World Cup chances and that's not a good enough reason for CFC to just sign anyone IMO.
I am actually worried that if anything we are going to end up with a couple of loan deals again, would anyone be surprised by that? Especially as I have said about the upcoming World Cup, but it will be just more money down the drain with no long-term gain for the club.
As everyone knows I am not a fan of loan deals, I feel we are too big a club for that, remember Miku and Lassad?}

4.) Ed, spot on about loans in Jan, we are out of Europe so unless it is try before ye buy then, agreed fee etc. I don't think we are too big for loanee's but do think we should only take young hungry ones!

{Ed007's Note - I don't mind taking young players on loan/trial to see how they train, their attitude to the game, fellow players and life in general so I have mellowed a bit to it. I even seen the Keane and Bellamy loans as nothing was ever going to come to us full-time. Keane hated his time up here in Scotland (not playing for CFC, just in general) and the conditions around the Scottish game. Bellamy's wages percentage that went to his charity foundation made sure we could never afford to pay him enough to cover that AND pay him the kind of money he expected at the time. It was two pointless loans that cost the club millions with nothing to show for the club's massive outlay. Money that should have been invested elsewhere with a better long-term outlook.}

5.) Saying James Vaughan is average just shows how ill-informed you are with the leagues outside the EPL. He's playing in a league superior to the SPL right now and tearing defenses apart so I'd read up on it more before questioning your manager's targets.

6.) Vaughan is average. We need a goalscorer and although he's chipping in with a few, not enough to convince me he will score 30 a season and justify that 6 million price tag. He's a player who's having a good spell and his confidence is high. It won't last. He's 25! Where's he been up till now? Hasn't done it at Everton, Derby, Leicester, Crystal Palace or Norwich but now he's started scoring a goal every other game at Huddersfield he's a superstars worth 6 million? Pay no notice to the Huddersfield fan @5) the guys average.

mcmillana

1.) The Highland derby is being shown I think. DH

2.) Only on celtic tv m8 stream at 1st row

3.) Cheers Mate. Antony

Watching the under 20's game. i'm suprised the boy Ralston and Aaichison have not been sent out on loan to develop and gain first team experience. I know they are young but they are both good enough to play first team football I think.

mcmillana

1.) 16 Aug 2016 22:20:37
Ralston has been in the 1st team but aitchinson is still young and winning the irn bru cup would be good for them.

2.) 16 Aug 2016 22:31:43
Going out on loan isn't a guarantee of improving a young player . I don't think Tierney was loaned out any where and he has done fine . MC Gregor benefitted from going to Notts County. I M O a youngster can use either path to get his break through, he must take his chance when ever he gets it .

3.) 16 Aug 2016 22:34:03
I really like ralston. I think he could be our next Teirney but it doesn't look like he's going to be giving a lot of first team games with Lustig and Janko so I would like to see another team take a punt on him for a season.

4.) 16 Aug 2016 22:47:31
Maybe fall into bad company when he moves away from his home . There is a good argument for youngsters in their late teens to be kept in normal environment and working with his normal coaches.

5.) 17 Aug 2016 00:26:12
Pretty sure Ralston had 6 months at Queens Park last year and impressed.

6.) 17 Aug 2016 05:00:29
Certain he did to doidy ad keep him just now for cover real prospect been saying that for a wee while.

7.) 17 Aug 2016 11:21:40
Wouldn't mind GMS, McCart, Ralston, Henderson, Aitchison and Fasan loaned out before the window closes can't see any getting much game time.

21 May 2016 12:13:23
Ed your going to have Heart failure. Read somewhere that BR is lining up Stevie G as a player coach lol. Suppose it beats Barton.

mcmillana

{Ed007's Note - I can't see that happening but at least it would mean Commons would be leaving.}

1.) 21 May 2016 12:57:38
yeah commons won't be able to cope now there is a bigger name at the club than him. the fairy tail may well be over for him and Lisa. No doubt we will be linked with every Liverpool player past and present between now and until the next window shuts.

{Ed007's Note - There's a murky and seedy background between them that is even worse than the press have previously reported.}

2.) 21 May 2016 13:01:08
I dunno ED, if Collins and Brown can forgive and forget 😉.

{Ed007's Note - Yeah, that worked out OK.}

3.) 21 May 2016 13:17:10
well they do have that swingers look about them haha. As far as I am concerned they have milked enough from our club and its time to move on, saying that it would not suprise me one bit to see lisa back out on the campaign trail.

{Ed007's Note - Hahaha I wouldn't go that far but if you're into that kind of thing you should speak to Ed003. :=o

4.) 21 May 2016 13:43:08
Commons should be first one out the door.

5.) 22 May 2016 13:45:07
Those who cause trouble among the squad, and among the WAGS need to be moved on.

11 Apr 2016 12:09:46
I know this is about as long as a shot gets but if anyone has a couple of spare tickets for the game on Sunday. i'd happily buy them. You don't ask you don't get.

mcmillana

1.) 11 Apr 2016 12:31:40
This has been farcical how Celtic have dealt with the ticket distribution for the semi but check with ticket office as there are some tickets on sale to season ticket holders on a first come basis provided you don't already have a ticket. Good luck.

{Ed007's Note - I said on the live chat on Saturday that there was plenty of tickets left. A girl in the ticket office I'm friends with told me that there has been a hell of a lot of people getting in touch to say they won't be attending because of the new club myth and/or Res 12.
Much to my nephew and his pal's dismay I didn't take any tickets for Sunday's match and I would have got 2 from my season tickets and 1 or 2 from the Pools office.}

2.) 11 Apr 2016 13:25:36
Our club has often treated it's own supporters with contempt and taken them for granted - as long as the cash comes streaming in.
A statement or stance regarding the 'new club' situation or Res 12, some time ago would have went a long way to showing some solidarity and maybe help to air, some well overdue home-truths.

3.) 11 Apr 2016 13:41:57
There will be no statement on either subject any time soon. The suits are saying that it will entice violence against staff members and supporters.

4.) 11 Apr 2016 13:42:43
Can somebody briefly explain what Res 12 is please? I generally don't get involved in the whole Newco/ Sevco/ same club/ new club chat because I find it incredibly tedious after 4 years but I've seen this Res 12 mentioned a few times on here.

5.) 11 Apr 2016 13:31:06
I'm the same as you Ed . I got a ticket last week but gave it to my son who didn't go to Morton game and now he's just told me he got one today himself and he didn't need mine so I've gave it to his mate who also missed Morton game . Hampden puts me off going to football period as its a soulless horrible ground and saying that the opposition doesn't help either .

6.) 11 Apr 2016 14:40:20
Also passed up on the tickets, got offered hospitality for it but said no. Went to last year's cup match and 5 mins in realised I hadn't missed their bile one bit. Obviously I hope we win well at the weekend but not bothered about playing the new club.

7.) 11 Apr 2016 14:46:20
According to the website tickets are sold out that's why I'm trying my luck on forums.

8.) 11 Apr 2016 15:50:55
DEEAITCH I totally feel the same about Hampden. But am going. It's an athletics stadium, not a football stadium for me. Scotland could really do with a national stadium that helps add to an atmosphere. Celtic Park? I wouldn't oppose to that, I'm sure our neighbours with their 5 star rated sh*tpit would, but those stars are rated on BS things anyway. Celtic Park is actually already Scotland's second home and has seen much better atmospheres.

9.) 11 Apr 2016 16:28:26
KebBhoy I tried to do a little research into res12 because like you I knew nothing about it. From what I managed to gather quickly. I think it's relating to the SFA and old Rangers and what they did and what they didn't do even although There was protocol to be followed in a situation when a club owes out money to the HMRC relating to entry into European football qualification. I'm not 100% sure of I've got the whole story (or even half) so hopefully Ed007 or paradise can post a beast of a message on the site or perhaps some lovely bullet points for people like myself to easily understand :)

{Ed007's Note - There's a bit over on our Sevco page about it mate, try using the search function if you can't see it.}

10.) 11 Apr 2016 19:06:17
That's right Pedro, I actually have heard a little bit about it. People saying we should have got their CL place due to it. I have to be honest though, I'm totally fed up with all this tax case, liquidation chat. I know it's important, especially if there were cover ups and cheating and this is an opinion page where folk are quite entitled to discuss whatever they want but at the end of the day I'm a football fan, more precisely a Celtic supporter and I long for the day when this site and all the social media pages got back to talking about football and Celtic and not the guff from across the city and their dodgy dealings. And as much as some people on here will undoubtedly disagree, in my eyes they play in the same colours, at the same stadium and are followed by the same horrible knuckledraggers as before and I want to beat them just as much on Sunday as I always have. HH.

11.) 11 Apr 2016 20:56:45
Well said mate I am of the same thinking.

12.) 11 Apr 2016 21:36:44
Kevbhoy , a model fan, do what ever you like to Celtic and Kev what's no discussion or complaint . Appoint the referee from the same gene pool who have cheated Celtic over the years . Arrange Celtic 's fixture always 2nd at Hampden at weekend, so pitch will be cut up and a great leveller .
Ignore the cheating, non registration, tax fiddling and set up an enquiry with terms of reference to not find Rangers guilty . Allow the football reputation of all of Scotland to be tarnished and destroyed as long as Ranger remain.

13.) 11 Apr 2016 23:19:39
OldBhoy I was wondering when you'd come out the woodwork and try to troll me, what took you so long? Normally I'd point out the glaring examples of idiocy in your post but the hour is late and you're really not worth one more word than is included in this reply.

07 Mar 2016 11:45:08
Anybody know when the new firm tickets go on general sale.?

mcmillana

1.) 07 Mar 2016 14:43:19
Doubt there will be a general sale.

2.) 07 Mar 2016 16:08:18
Rest assured that Lawwell will find a way to make the fans into some other purchase if they want a ticket for this game.

3.) 07 Mar 2016 17:36:21
Season ticket holders will snap them up

01 Feb 2016 13:55:22
So Celtic a signing a 29 year old homophobic thug that has had a bust up with every club he's played for. And add to that he has scored less than 40 goals in 12 years. Yet wee let stokes go for having an attitude problem. great.

like everybody else I want to see the club strengthen. But what more can the club do. There are genuine offers on the table. We can make player sign that's down to the players. I think the club are genuinely trying to get quality faces in. Who knws Mabry i'm wrong.
