I just listened to Glittering Prize by Simple Minds. I loved it way back then but I think that Glittering Celtic. We may never experience what my dad witnessed in 67. But I love Celtic all the same. After the Seville final my Dad (God rest his soul) asked what was wrong. I told him I was gutted. To which he replied 'how do you think it felt in 1970 when we lost to Feyenoord' I don't know to this day if I said what I was feeling which was - you saw the Lisbon Lions! Anyway - Celtic Forever.

Glittering Prize is Celtic. That's what I meant to say. Supporting Celtic is THE greatest thing until you have children - then you teach them the same. I was taught early but I CHOSE this. Hail Hail. BTW Jackie McNamara's first goal v Hibs at Easter Road in 95/ 96 season is why I love Celtic more than before.

Your old man would love what's happening now. All the best.

L-S-86: just got back from Portugal late Sat afternoon, when we were there we went to the Estádio Nacional: Now used as a sports complex.
The workman were there and the fences were down, So we walked straight into the stadium and onto the pitch. Shivers running down my spine, I said to my dad ( god rest his soul) : Well now dad, this was one of the best days to be a Celtic Supporter.
I stood in awe of what we accomplished in 67, with the goals we scored
getting played out in my mind as i looked onto the pitch
My youngest son ( 16) who was with us just stared in total disbelief, we took pics and made our way round to the main stand, unfortunately we could not get into the main stand as it was locked, so we sat just in front of it, still more shivers.
we had taken a taxi to the stadium and the driver waited, when we returned to the taxi the driver said, nice stadium what were you looking for i turned and showed him the Celtic top my son was wearing . Oh he said 50 years ago the FAMOUS GLASGOW CELTIC . ( his words ) and then he started to name our team .
I does not matter where you go in this world, you will always find a Celtic supporter:

Thought I would just share that with you all:

I'm sorry this is my first post but here goes. Abbeyman67 does not like Andy Walker. It has nothing to do with the 3 posts at least since new Glasgow derby - more that I pick up subtle hints lol. I agree Abbey he is a tosser, and it's a shame because I loved him - until Macca arrived - a proper striker, Celtic man and all round star. Maybe Andy never got over the fact that all Celtic fans gushed over Frank McAvennie when he signed and never stopped. Oh and by the way that was a pretty good result tonight. Hail Hail.

What did I do wrong naysayer? My first ever post got one like but the dislike hurt so much.

{Ed033's Note - Don't worry about the thumbs down, probably a troll that clicks on random thumbs down.

2.) 28 Sep 2017 02:04:34
Thanks Ed033. In my head my post was at least a 3-0 rather than 1-1. Hail Hail.
Please tell me I don't have to explain the Love Street part to any young Celtic fans - although I love boring my son, Nephews etc with talk of the crowd going mental when Jim Stewart was looking around as if to say - I've got the ball so I know they didn't just score again. Albert Kidd!

3.) 28 Sep 2017 07:36:51
ntcham - here's my take - he was trying too hard - not going for the easy pass - but at least he was trying / taking a risk - the old risk reward thing - and then that pass to set KT away was sublime.

his worse pass was just after that - cross field ball to lustig that even eusain bolt wouldn't have reached!

4.) 28 Sep 2017 08:01:30
First half he was awful but a thought lustig also had a few wayward passes and headers.

Is the conspiracy page gone ed33?

{Ed033's Note - Hi TTTS, no it's still there - conspiracy site

LS-86 my dad and I were just to the right behind the St Mirren Keeper, and as you say when the 1st goal went in we went nuts and the keeper had no idea what was going on. He was looking to see if there was some sort of foul, he looked at the linesman, the ref. Brilliant day all round
I get shivers when I even think of that day

HH.

Digibanger, I think you’re spot on regarding Ntcham. Yes it wasn’t his greatest half, but he never shied away from getting the ball and always up for it. Perhaps a wee bit too fancy at times, but if one or two of them came off then it’s a different story. His pass for the goal was outstanding, but it was also the first bit of proper movement we’d had.

I think he’s different class and if he continues to progress then we have in my opinion, the best midfielder since Wanyama. Hopefully we keep him for a season or two before Southampton sign him 😂😂😂.

That LS game keeps raring it's head on here and I like that first ever game I was allowed to go to on my own as a raw thirteen year old as a sole result of being a paisley bhoy whose family member stayed three streets away lol.

geraldiho - I also think he may have been TOLD that was his job by BR.

"Scott you do your thing but be defensively minded - keep it simple, easy passes - break up play, play they ball back, when they press drop into defence.

Olivier - you do your thing but as scott is defensively minded - you be offensively minded - take risks, try threaded balls, play the ball forward, when they have the ball find a hole and wait for the ball to play forward! "

if it was a tactic by br - it was genius and it worked.

I'm glad I had to suffer all their (succulent lamb) mince. It makes these times all the better. I just wish it had been Tommy Burns that won the title, some of his teams football was breathtaking.

OneRonnyDeila I like John McGinn but I have issues. First being can he replace Scott Brown when he's past it. Can we afford to wait and let him go down south where his wages and fee would get into stupid money. And I'm not sure all round - thank god it's Brendan who's in charge. Hail Hail.

I have had plenty of negative comments about Fergus, especially after the Croatia Zagreg result, Jock Brown and ofcourse the Simon Donnelly pointing penalty v Aberdeen. But let's be clear without him we would have been another Hearts. However thank God it never went that far never mind. DEATH. then pretending it didn't happen lol. Jim Traynor would never have let US lie like that.

jonace - Strachan is a strange little man, I never fully took to him at Celtic. I fear he might shoot himself in the foot and blame the media. Again.

I think they try too hard to be accepted as unbiased professionals. I remember hating Davie Provan, my whole family did. But in Davie's case he was prob telling the truth we didn't want to hear. Charlie is just thick tho. Andy a total sell out which makes me wretch. and who gives a feck about Coyle?
