I don't think we'll be looking to move Welsh on due to the Champions League quotas about home grown players. For that reason alone I think it would be poor business. The jury is out on him long term for me but he's one of the more promising young players we've had come through since KT.

Been a while since I posted on here. as I've said in the past I live in Boro so follow them as well as Hoops. He was very good earlier last season but he had a bad slump in form since the start of the year really. Boro did have a solid defence so was no real surprise to see him lose his place. Still he'd do well for us, not really good enough to replace VVD but definitely prefer him to Ambrose.
Never heard of Ring. If/when Cardiff go down could we nick that Medel off them or is he on huge wages? If we're going to be playing 4 - 3 - 1 - 2 we do need a Wanyama type in the middle with Johansen acting as our Pirlo type player and Brown going box to box. As with the Nick Powell rumour I'd love to see Snodgrass here - him and Commons would torment defences, if we were to sign a top class forward they'd get plenty of chances.
I have two ways of looking at the Mjallby news. Either Lennon has hinted he's off and Mjallby doesn't want to stay without him, or he's wanting a chance at a managers job and has to move away because Lennon is staying put. I've said before I'd have been quite happy for him to be given a chance as number 1 if Lennon was to leave.
I'd be delighted if we got Powell, had hoped we'd try and get him while he was still at Crewe (considering Lennon does go to watch them a lot we seem to miss out on a lot of their players when they do move on!)
Him and Commons playing behind a more natural forward would bring us lots of goals.
Gutted about this. I've had the belief that he'd make a cracking manager one day, especially with him stepping in to Lennon's shoes when he got banned the other year. Good luck to the big man. Clarke would be a good appointment but I expect he'll be looking for a managers job. Maybe Moyes could be our new assistant? :)
