Hi ed i'm seein on various sites tht a deal guna b dne 2dy 4 Russell 2 derby 4 950,000 av u heard anythin on this i'm hopin this is not true as I think we will b missin out on fantastic player an would b lyk missin out on Steven fletcher r James McCarthy
1.) I don't really think he's what Celtic need up front. We're still crying out for a big centre forward. In reality is Russell any better than stokes or watt?
2.) Russell is far better than Stokes and Watt, and why do we need a ''big'' striker? We had a fantastic season without such a player and it only makes players play long balls.
3.) I don't know how I feel about this transfer I think he is a good player but do we really need him I don't know tbh. Would I take him probably yes but imo Leigh Griffiths is a better player and younger aswell but does have his problems so doubt wewould sign him.
4.) Just been on tv transfer news and according to then as off 12 20 today derby deny having had a bid accepted for russell
5.) No deal has been struck with derby for Russell
6.) Agree with Davie C. It should Leigh Griffiths we're going after. JC
7.) No deal done with derby and Celtic still in pole position.
What's not to like about Russell? Better player and better attitude than watt. 2 goals against Motherwell and 1 against barca does not make u a world beater. Ask ureself why watt hardly played this season bearing in mind stokes out vast majority and hooper disappearing after Xmas!

8.) Russel is not better than stokes. I think he is probably better than watt just now but give watt another year or two and I think he will be better as well. I like Russel but I am not fussed if we don't sign him. i'd like to think Lennon and the background staff know what they are doing and if they thought he would be a benefit i'm sure they would have put an offer in for him.
9.) Why do we need a ''big'' striker?
-> We need a big striker to offer us a PlanB. he wouldn't be deployed every game, but in a lot of matches (or coming off the bench) he would offer us something against a packed defence (knockdowns, set piece headers etc). Russell would be a good acquisition AS WELL though - as he can play wide, through the middle, or (i am sure) in the Commons/Maloney role, sitting in behind the main striker.
10.) Russell's a class player we need to sign him that lad can only get better with age and would bring another attacking option and the lad is a Celtic fan fact!
11.) Why not bring in Russell and give Dundee Utd Watt on loan for a season and get him playing regular first team football? Just a thought.

12.) Frankly he is not good enough. Another "average" SPL player. He would not take us to the next level, then again I think CFC are happy to rest on their laurels

Hi ed wats your thoughts on a kid frm arsenal called jernade meade arsene wenger as rated this youngster as hot prospect he plays left back I remembr his debut against reading he played very well, he also played against olympiacos in cl, i'm aware he can move on as he dwn the packin order behind Gibbs an monreal! {Ed007's Note - I've never seen him play, sorry, but he is out of contract this summer so it would only be training compensation.}

Celtic monitoring burnleys Charlie Austin, Lancashire telegraph! Austin though says he in no hurry 2 leave turf moor an I think he seem mre interested in a move to the EPL 2 prob b a bench warmer!!

Would love to see Charlie Austin and Adam le fondre tearing the shame tribute act's defence a new one. offer sami and McCourt as makeweights in any deal.
4.) His other half is home sick and wants to move back down south to be closer to family and friends so don't think there will be much chance of him moving further north and coming to us.

ed have you heard of everton wanting to try and bring john park away from celtic? hope this is crap. I don't know what way scouts/coaches contracts work and am sure you will know. thanks mate in advance

Also what bout bakary sako frm wolves always looks a very good player left r centre midfield an scores a lot of goals aswel. {Ed007's Note - Barca are looking to offload quite a few players to raise much needed funds but I've not heard of any interest in Wanyama from them. I've not seen much of Wolves this season but the only player they have that I would try to sign is Bjorn Sigurdarson.}

Saw wolves a few times sako a decent player a would try and sign roger johnson and maybe jamie o hara cracking pkayer when fully fit sidgurrson doesn't score many ebanks blake wid score barrow loads up here what dae u tgink ed {Ed007's Note - To be fair, Sigaurdarson has been getting played as a winger and that's not his natural position. I can't stand O'Hara, the guy is a complete tosser plus he earns about £35k a week. Isn't Ebanks-Blake out with a broken leg or ankle??}

Yeah they are offloading players but its not to fund big vics move. they are going for neymar, well documented in spain. they are going for mats hummels and another cb, offloadin pique, mascherano will move to natural position of holding midfielder. So looks like vic won't be going to barca, but we never know, don't see barca going for him just now they will wait to see if he progresses anymore first.

Ed ebanks blake is out way broken leg but most players return just as good ed just look at larsson no saying he's a larsson but its an example and fair point way sigurdsso did we no look at him before they signed him ed {Ed007's Note - Larsson was our player when he broke his leg, I think the board have wasted enough money without spending it on an injured player whom you have no idea when he will be fit enough to play, let alone how good he will be when he does finally recover.
When Wolves announced Stale Solbakken as manager last summer we were always going to struggle to sign Sigurdarson, now that the manager has long gone perhaps it would be easier to get the player, especially as they will be in League 1 next season.}
4.) Totally agree with Ed about Sigudarson. Have been hoping we'll go in for him again now Wolves are down. Was disappointed we missed out first time round. He's proved he can score in the past but as Ed says this season he's been more of a wing forward the way Sammy plays (could be long-term replacement). Still got plenty time on his hands and could be a steal. I'd be chuffed with a loan to buy deal.
5.) I said in an earlier post I think Sako would be a fantastic signing. Glad someone else mentioned him as I think he would do a great choice. The creative player we are missing. Not keen on Doyle.
6.) Ebanks Blake is out of contract in July. could give him a wee punt, I hve said it before, we should be looking at the free market and Wolves' relegation I suspect they will be looking to offload quite a few players.
7.) Didn't a barca member stay behind after our cl game against them Ed? And I tell you what they could have used him against bayrn mun, for if messi is injured at least they would have a driving force to shut everyone down {Ed007's Note - Any talk about players that night would have been no more than chit-chat.}

Wouldn't want any Wolves player except the boy Ed mentioned. the rest are rank rotten, they aren't going to league because they wanted to. they are going there because its what they have achieved in a season. good enough for celtic? Doubt it, and as for your johnson guy, what a pile of mince, if I wanted a dirty player there are plenty better out in the footb all world, jamie ohara don't get me started quite simply not good enough! {Ed001's Note - Bakary Sako has plenty of ability, bit lazy though and they have Liam McAlinden in the youth/reserves who is going to be a star if he works at it. He is quality.}

Ed a would be suprised if sako wid be too expensive and wid be a good addiction too squad and is there is any chance of charlie austin coming aswell ed? {Ed001's Note - Sako would be fairly expensive, they paid 5m Euros for him (about £3.34m at the exchange rate then) and he has been a stand out performer for them at times. I very much doubt they would let him leave for less, they are not in financial danger after all. Austin is available for the right price, his contract is about to enter its final year, I believe, which is probably why he is considered as being for sale. The issue is that his missus wants to return down south, rather than go further north.}

He hasn't settled well in Germany, had language problems and now his wife (or G/F) is expecting their first baby.}

Everytime I seen him play last season he looked a lot better than a championship player he's big, physical an 4 a big man he has some tricks up his sleeve he can play anywhere across midfield wolves mostly used him on the left he scores plenty of goals aswel. {Ed001's Note - great ability, the issue with him is he is a bit on the lazy side. In the SPL, where Celtic get most of the ball, he could be devastating, in my opinion.}

Hooper did take part in the charity match 4 mitchell cole thy r gud friends and and both played 2gethr at Southend an grays
