paul clement . here is a name for you, i'm hearing he is on the shortlist, real Madrid no2 . an Englishman . anybody any info on him

barry the janny

1.) Clement's had some good experience as an assistant at some top clubs but never managed at any level.
Might be a good shout though as his previous experience kind of mirrors NL but not sure he could be coaxed away from Real for the thrills and spills of the SPFL!
/Bishop B

2.) Also he's now been with Ancelotti since Chelsea and followed him to PSG and then onto Real so he appears to be a permanent fixture in his back room staff now.
Might be hard to convince him to leave that level of security.
/Bishop B

3.) Interviewed during week n made it very clear he's settled with family in Madrid n "enjoying the experience". This was in relation to a return to EPL, if not coming back for that then he definitely ain't coming up here

4.) I'd rather take a chance on Zizou, imagine the pulling power you'd have with a rookie Zinedine Zidane? But no doubt he'll be getting nurtured for the Real job when Ancelotti leaves or retires!

can anybody tell me why there is so many problems regarding juventus tickets! why are the italians causing so much hassle, first it was your name on ticket and now, i'm hearing the italians want addresses of all travelling fans {i was emailed yesterday by my contact for tickets to supply my details } I can honestly say I have travelled to many many european games be it friendlies to last 16 and never had this hassle before, i'm travelling with Harry Hynds travel and I fear what's greeting me when we step off plane, my only comfort is Hynds travel are putting on buses from airport to hotel and also to game and return. can anybody shed any light on why security is so so tight please

barry the janny

1.) Just be careful mate. having been to the last Juve v Celtic it was horrendous. The police turned a blind eye to everything and the waiter in our hotel told us to stick to groups of TEN upwards! There is a bar doing a big Celts theme so hopefully it will be cool. can't understand the ticket thing though, local police regulations maybe?. green jhedi

2.) GJ, if it's as bad as made out ( I don't for one minute doubt it btw) then why don't the relevant footballing authorities launch full enquiries? Quick enough to pull up for certain singing, us letting off flares but ignore crowds, poor security measures of the bigger clubs. Not holding my breath right enough, it would get the same treatment no doubt that the atrocious refeering got last week.

3.) Barry; the problem is the Italian Ultras, the amount of input they have in clubs is frightening. At lots of clubs the leaders of these groups have free reign to wander in and out of training complexes! This is achieved through intimidation and the sheer force of numbers they have. This in turn leaves the police knowing we will go home, they dont. green jhedi

4.) BARRY THE JANNY

thanks for the heads up guys, i'm not planning in straying too far from hotel, and will take all advice welcome. on another note we don't treat visiting fans like this so why we get it is beyond me. any ideas

5.) Not sure if i'm excited or apprehensive about this trip. probably a bit of both haha. never knew about the address on the ticket? when I picked mine up it was still just the name? GJ a lot of people I know are staying in milan to try and avoid any trouble.

6.) Maybe they know how many travel to watch Celtic and they think if we make it hard on the fans they won't turn up and Celtic will be worse without the fans there. Juve are afraid!

7.) It was a nightmare the last time we were there, herded about like cattle outside the ground and in city centre, total alchol ban in pubs, bars, cafes etc etc then inside the ground pelted with rotten fruit, vegetables, stones, backs of seats, plastic bottles with water and other liquids all this while the local peelers stood in full riot gear with shields held above there heads, batons drawn and facing us and let the juve fans continually throw missiles at us.
davy

8.) Think it depends on the team watched us in the San Siro and had no problems but also watched Roma play and had to supply all my details and take passport to the match to tally up with my ticket

9.) You will probably find most of the pubs will be closed too, but everything will be fine, don wander about alone though. jj

Very emotional it is, people hugging, high 5 ing . Brilliant too see everybody coming together for the YES CAUSE

barry the janny

1.) I hope it spreads to other areas; I am getting a lot of negativity and doubt from family and friends and it's peltin ma melt in. Come on the Yes!

Morning ed, what a lovely hot Friday it is, am just really buzzing cause I stop the day for a month ( sorry if nobody's on holiday ) anyway back to football .

Broony will be missed badly for champions league games ( as proved last year )

But surely this must now give big Briton a chance to step in rather than kayal, as I think we have enough diggers in midfield, would love to see the big guy as playmaker as I thought last year he really came on to a game after playing 4/5 games on the trot, think we need a player who can make that pass & would love big Briton in there, don't know if anybody would agree but that's my thinking

Transfers . If possible spend the dish & bring in forward & central defender that's all we r missing as Matthews can cover for izzy as can Charlie, we have plenty in midfield but a bit of talent up top would be a great addition .

Today's poll . don't think Ronnie is bringing in the young bhoys to sell, think maybe he will give youth a chance but at the end of the day it's titles & cups he needs, not £ in kitty

barry the janny

1.) I stop for a month 2 wks today. Can't wait!

I don't think Broony will be missed as much this year as last based on the new managers style.

I assume you mean Nir Biton and not Gerry Britton lol?! I think this season we'll see CM strengthened by the fringe and youth players - Biton, Rogic, McGregor, McGeouch, Henderson, etc. It's make or break time for some!

Same goes for the strikers, I'm sure there'll be plenty chances to claim their stake - Balde, Fridjonsson, Watt, Atajic and so on!

Agree with you on the last point, we need players not money. Money may bring financial success, but it doesn't bring football trophies and we are after all a football club!

2.) What we need and what we will get are two totally different things as usual! But I think we need another lb, cm, wingers cb, and a cf but some of these positions may be filled by Ronnie's emphasis on using existing use but we do need strengthening in these areas from last years squad.

3.) Sorry Hamiltonbhoy slight spelling mistake with the biton bit, but thanks for your views m8

4.) Haha, no worries mate!

Lennon leaving

Simple answer too that ok here go

He was told to sell before he could buy & he told lawell he was chucking it .

I now predict that Celtic will appoint the cheapest option available . Coyle .

Wish I had known this before I paid my season ticket in full .

Personally if Celtic had any ambition at all then they would give the Celtic support the big name we crave .

My choice . Here we go!
An old head with a young assistant to be groomed for future . Harry Rednapp & henrik .

Laugh if you like, surely after having my season ticket for 20 years I'm allowed my view eh

I can only hope

'arry would do a good job but doubt he would ever be looked at. someone mentioned him earlier although as ed says is wages alone would be massive

we should forget about these names that are floating about and look abroad. get some fresh ideas and mix it up a bit

not saying the names don't have quality about them but are they capable of taking us and pushing us on

as for the coyle rumour I think many of us will be having nightmares tonight but surely the board won't go there. he hasn't achieved and he's another one that is set in his ways with predictable teams and poor tactics

{Ed007's Note - It's nothing to do with Redknapper's wages, the man's a crook.}

2.) What about?

Kevin Keegan and Steve Clarke, Keegan as dof and Clarke coaching.

3.) Right Ed we don't want Harry it's not just his wages, it's the bonuses for the dog. My British choice would be
m McKay or else a foreigner of note with maybe Jackie Mac as number 2 if the manager was happy .

4.) Harry Redknapp? You have got to be joking.

5.) Nobody wants keegan as he has mental health issues, as for u saying arry a crook ed, everybody way money doesn't always play ball u know . What's wrong with having a bank account with Yir dugs name . No chance of getting bitten there eh ( sorry)

6.) Green Jedi, what's so wrong with arry Rednapp, come on and divulge your dream management team, it's ok for u to mock my suggestion . & if u say Owen coyle I will refuse to read your posts ever again! I do agree with lots of your posts but not this . Arry Rednapp is a big Celtic fan u know

ed,
when you apply for your esta you must admit that you have convictions, therefore your visa would not be granted for the the usa . the usa do not recognise the rehabilition of offenders act, so in the usa if you have commited a crime it stays on your record for ever, this also includes tourist visa / working visa . i was also refused a visa but i attended a meeting in belfast at american embassy and was granted a visa on the basis that my crimes where 29 years ago! its your pot luck on the day if they allow you in and the circumstances of your crime and duration of your visit, after being interviewed for 2 hours in new york i was allowed to continue on my visit but had too go through the same interview on the way back out . hope this is of help too anybody

I am a janny in primary school and seen some of the best players in years have stinkers of games .i think we should lay off the young bhoys a bit, then judge them in 6-9 months time, when Ronny has worked his magic.

It's only ma opinion!
