Dominic Solanke is coming up for free this summer, not getting a sniff at Chelsea, can play as a striker or out wide, would be a perfect addition to the club in the summer, getting him would show the dembele coup wasn't a one off and young hungry players are eager to come and showcase their talent with us. I'm sure BR is planning to snare some exciting prospects to fill the gaps.

Just had a look at how much he earns, he was on £7k a week but was asking for £50k for a new deal . The report said he would take £25k per week so it's about our price range.

2.) 07 Mar 2017 16:01:08
I just think he's the type of young player we should be aiming for, with him being English if he started fulfilling his potential his value would rocket, plenty more Chelsea youth that are so successful at youth level, don't get a sniff in their first team and have to settle with loan moves, 25k is certainly worth a punt.

3.) 07 Mar 2017 16:03:37
Get him playing out wide I'm sure he could adapt easily to the RW position. Seems a great young player who needs some first team football.

4.) 08 Mar 2017 09:33:27
The paper that started the rumour he was asking for 50K recently had to come out and say it was false and they were "misinformed" so I would hope we could get him on a similar pay as Dembele.

See we have been linked with Uganda CB Murushid Jjuuko of Tanzanias Simba, 22 years of age 22 caps, missed the opener against Ghana due to suspension but apparently played brilliant in final two group games, BR and the Scouts seem to be very focused on the cheaper African market.
Also read some tragic news that him and his wife suffered the loss of all 3 triplets born prematurely in late December 2016 just before he set off for International duty for the cranes.
To put in such focused performances on the international stage after such devastating circumstances seems a right testament to the lad.

Anybody hearing any other rumours?

1.) 28 Jan 2017 09:59:36
Tragic for the player.

I really don't like us signing players from the African market due to the timing of the African Nations Cup. Wanyama was ok because Kenya were so bad they didn't make the tournament but I would expect to be losing Eboue to the next tournament.

If we do decide to shop in that market we could end up losing 3/ 4/ 5 of the squad all at once and it could disrupt the team.

2.) 28 Jan 2017 16:03:00
With winter break now they would only miss a couple of games. Uganda are out already and don't usually qualify so shouldn't be an issue in the future. This type of signing wouldn't bother me if it added real quality.

{Ed007's Note - And while the rest of the players are resting up and relaxing in Dubai our players are playing yet more games in searing heat and humidity and then will more than likely need time to recuperate when they return - not to mention the risk of injury while playing in the AFCON.
I'm not saying it's a major problem but it's definitely something we should remain aware of along with the work-permit regs.}

3.) 28 Jan 2017 17:01:15
I know efe was such a loss when he went.

{Ed007's Note - Ambrose should have never played in that Juventus match, it was a ridiculous decision by Lennon and his Celtic career went downhill from there. Before that he was a solid enough defender on the domestic front.}

4.) 28 Jan 2017 17:44:18
Digi

I would hope that Rodgers would be bringing in better quality that Efe who would actually be missed.

5.) 28 Jan 2017 19:20:02
I understand the risk of injury on international duty but any player called up risks that, especially in international friendlies or even closer to home playing on artificial pitches, if these lads turn out anything like VW then they are worth the punt, especially at the reduced fees we might purchase them for. Foreign players from any continent will more than likely use us as a stepping stone for higher wages at EPL clubs, and if they want to play their socks off in the green and white to get that chance then I for one don't mind at all, the more money we can generate the more state of the art facilities the young hoops will have to develop and hopefully one day our starting 11 will be littered with home grown talent who enjoy the Jersey more than the pay cheque, until then let's keep this engine ticking on to great things

6.) 28 Jan 2017 19:34:50
May i suggest the players from Africa are adopt to playing in the kind of temp that they are playing in . Maybe wrong but just me thinking out loud

Can't open it sir

{Ed007's Note - It's just an article about the state of the pitches at the AFCON and the amount of injuries caused by them.

If nothing happens and the club can confirm they tried for certain deals but couldn't materialise with details then fine, if they keep quiet they we are getting mugged off as well as BR as a manager of his calibre should have funds to strengthen, we don't want battered in champions league.

Turner1888

1.) 31 Aug 2017 22:01:56
Itl be the usual mate, after window closes theyl have a list of all the players they tried to get, but couldn't. Same old same old, it seems, I hope I'm wrong.

2.) 01 Sep 2017 00:35:28
Ya lads agree with ye. We have known about CB for a while now and that Bitton who l like is not the answer. The last European game showed that. Two lads in are great but l fear what could happen if the main CB get injuries again before the champions league starts. Sure all the excuses will come out.

ED IS Liam Henderson injured at present? I thought I would of seen him get a chance this season, can't progress without game time and if he isn't going to get that this season then surely a loan is more beneficial?

Only a couple of seasons to go then hopefully wee Karamoko Dembele graces the pitch in the green and white, hopefully along with more youth graduates HH.

Turner1888

{Ed007's Note - Henderson's not injured mate, he was on the bench last weekend, and I wouldn't have been surprised either to see him go out on loan but he's out of contract next year so unless the Club are going to offer him an extension and then loan him out I don't know what's going to happen. It's an odd one.}

1.) 25 Aug 2017 21:39:44
Simple question. Who do you drop for him?

2.) 25 Aug 2017 21:51:44
Had high hopes for Henderson but like i have said before it's time to leave Celtic for the good of his career.

3.) 25 Aug 2017 23:50:59
Hopefully he gets a chance to prove himself before he leaves I thought he was a decent player, same with that young lad Michael Johnston but he seems to be off the radar at the minute.

4.) 26 Aug 2017 02:20:52
His younger brother is making great progress in and around development squad.

5.) 26 Aug 2017 12:39:38
His younger brother is a far better player than Liam.

08 Aug 2017 21:18:05
KT 40yd strike wow what a finish, what a performance from the bhoys, great to see our youth players dominating, BR this is what we like to see.

Turner1888

1.) 09 Aug 2017 13:52:21
That goal was unreal. This kid is the real deal. What a player!

07 Aug 2017 23:45:39
Ademola Lookman on Derby County radar for loan, he would be a cracking utility player for both wing and forward option.

Turner1888

1.) 08 Aug 2017 00:26:41
just got a text there saying celtic are in for him.

2.) 08 Aug 2017 06:38:23
Did Brendan say anything else in the text?

3.) 08 Aug 2017 09:39:58
When HITC "report" on a player I usually just dismiss it instantly.

4.) 08 Aug 2017 11:07:48
Anythin on that site is one pile of Shoite! There's a few bad ones out there but that ones got to be the worse! Just blatant lies and bullshoite! Whatever they report the opposite is more likely to be true!

5.) 08 Aug 2017 11:58:53
Jack aitcheson Calvin Miller and nesbitt already here . give them a chance.

6.) 08 Aug 2017 15:13:16
nice one henke lol, it was a mate of mine saying celtic have an eye on him if the paddy deal falls through.

25 Jul 2017 00:03:40
Think we should be trying to move fast in the market and secure a few more signings, GK didillon of Metz CB - either guilbert of caen or djiku of bastia, and RW saint-maximum of bastia or harit of nantes, all young talented guys in the French league who could become great assets to the club, surely having Oli and moussa in the club would entice these lads to join, could get them at a good price presumably with their current club receiving a sell on percentage from future sale HH.

They've slapped a £15m price tag on him so that won't happen.

He would be a fantastic player, but not a chance he will arrive in the summer, if he does then BR will make him better.

I think GS has made a huge mistake here, in my opinion Calum is one of the best players we've brought through our academy in years, and for me is an absolute delight to watch, he has the full package, John McGinn ahead of him is absolute pish, I'm sure Calum will stay focused and wait on his chance, won't be long before Scotland's starting 11 are all celtic players the way our academy graduates are progressing HH.

MD will be sold if we don't qualify, I hope he isn't, and if we do sell him I hope the minimum we accept is £35m, Andy Carroll was sold to Liverpool for £35m over 6 years ago, and we all know who is the better striker.

I'm confident BR can build a strong young team hungry to win trophies, let's ignore the media and wait to see what happens, Marseille will never pay what we want for MD anyway so can't see that happening.

MJ played well against St Johnstone, maybe he will get his chance, I do think potentially why we are quiet in the market is BR might have big plans for these young lads in pre-season, I would take youth development over imports any day, albeit they were good enough, and yes Ed hopefully Ajer gets the nod on the bench and pushes the obvious pairing, and let's hope if Eric is sold we earn 6 times the value we paid for him.

I agree what I've seen of Ralston i've liked, Miller was unfortunate being played out of position, hopefully Ajer gets a sniff as well, cheers Ed.

Turner1888

{Ed007's Note - Ajer's proven at Kilmarnock that he can handle the Scottish domestic game and I'd be more than happy to see him taking Toure's position in the squad sitting on the bench as cover for the first choice CB pairing and playing in League Cup games and games against your Accies etc after hopefully CL matches.
I can see Sviatchenko leaving this window and expect another CB to be brought in, I think a CB unit of Simunovic, Boyata, Ajer and AN Other (Duverne?) would be good enough and give us enough depth and quality to see us competing on all fronts next year.}
