Does anyone know when the league trophy will be presente? I thought it would be after the motherwell game but listening to ssn I got the impression it would be after the Aberdeen game.

Just a quick question and I'm probably being a bit naive with this one but seeing more and more comments regarding John Kennedy getting as much stick as John Collins and I can't see where that's coming from? Now I fully understand that he's part of the backroom team that's left us, in part, in the position we are in but I fail to see how you could chastise Kennedy in the same manner as John Collins?

John Kennedy is the defence coach. do i have to go on.

2.) 26 Apr 2016 02:30:14
I wonder is John Kennedy a good defence coach . Maybe the team didn't listen to him all season because some were laughing at our defence, yet we have the best defensive record in the SPL.

Hi guys. Haven't posted in a while but wondered if anyone had heard anything about a possible replacement for Zaluska or whether RD is happy with Fasan stepping up?

On a side note I've just been on the Celtic website looking at tickets and Wednesdays game against Den Bosch is no longer available. I'm assuming that means it's a sell out. Should be a good atmosphere.

I hope Fasan gets the shout he is a really good young keeper

2.) 27 Jun 2015 16:01:38
Have you seen much of him marco? I've seen snippets and from that he looks quite agile, not the tallest, but puts himself about very well

3.) 27 Jun 2015 17:46:15
Hi Guys , Championed young Fasan's case more than most @ Gft 2 he is not the smallest by any means but could maybe fill out a little

His distribution from the back is great, A watched him save a penalty against the Pars in April a think and it was a fantastic penalty save!

The thing that is different for me about him is the manner in which he moves through the air I realise this sounds a bit daft but never seen a goalie move at that pace through the air before to the extent you think upon impact he is in danger of injuring himself! but just seems to be ok any chance you guys get to see him watch for this trait! The bhoy is lighting quick and has every chance of making it BIG in the game IMO

I have not seen a massive amount of him but you can tell he is a class act buddy

5.) 27 Jun 2015 19:24:04
He dose look good in the games I have seen granted not a lot but I think he deserves a shout maybe in some league games

6.) 28 Jun 2015 13:07:14
Lol did not realise he was 6"2. my bad

One for you Ed. Any idea if we have a sell on clause in the Forster deal?. Gutted to see the big man go but not unexpected. Judging by this summer Southampton are every bit a selling club as us, all be it with a bigger budget, so a sell on clause could well become useful.

Toffeebhoy88

{Ed007's Note - I've not heard any talk of one so far.}

1.) I'd hope so. Given we only get 75% of the fee anyway I don't think kt's a good enough deal. If Gordon IS his replacement I think I'll have had it.

{Ed007's Note - It's 75% of the profit we get, not 75% of the total fee, we made £6 million off the deal.}

2.) Ed did we not have to pay a fee each year he was on loan aswell?

{Ed007's Note - Yep but I didn't want to complicate things, cheers :)

3.) Even worse then!

4.) Come on Jim this was a good deal for both parties. Where scottish football is just now we must show a willingness to allow good players to move on if a good offer comes in. In recent years we've lost McGeady hooper wanyama ki and now Forster all for good money the important thing is that we reinvest properly in replacements which this season hasn't happened yet.

5.) God what do we expect to get . Big F F has done a wonderful job for us . We had 2 x 1 year loan deals and then we signed him on a four year deal . Which I think gives us a good financial return plus a good return on the pitch . We can't count the loan deals as they weren't part of the contract .

6.) The 'small print' of transfer deals are often 'invisible' to ordinary supporters who assume that the 'top line' is the sum we receive.
We did make a half decent profit - all things considered, but it leaves us in a very difficult position.
Not only have we lost an International goalie but we are seen to have '£10m' to spend and prices will be inflated accordingly - assuming we actually bring in some players?!

JJ

{Ed007's Note - There are taxes, agents fees, taxes on agents fees, residual insurances, relocation expenses, arrangement fees all to be considered in addition to the transfer fee and then the wages.

As for transfer fees, what is paid by the buying club would typically include:

(a) Transfer fee - the big number.
(b) Any levy applied by the local FA – 5% for the EPL.
(c) Tax due on the transfer fee – typically this will be VAT (at varying rates across Europe) some or all of which should be reclaimable.
(d) Agent fees – this may be to one or more agents (as an example, Liverpool have spent £25M plus VAT on agent fees over the past three years leading to this window).
(e) Tax due on the agent fees – typically this is VAT at the local rate where the agent bills from – it is not reclaimable.
(f) Intermediary fees – this may be to one or more sponging leeches(what do you mean you have a super agent?) .
(g) Tax due on the Intermediary fees – typically this is VAT at the local rate where the Intermediary bills from – it is not reclaimable.
(h) Signing on fee to the player (possibly including non-reclaimable VAT if the player is VAT registered).
(i) Legal fees.
(j) VAT on legal fees which is reclaimable.
(k) Moving/relocation costs for the player.
(l) VAT on moving/relocation costs which is reclaimable.
(m) Paying up insurance costs to the selling club (sometimes waived).
(n) Variables and tax on variables which may or may not be reclaimable) – these would typically include legal fees, moving/relocation costs, etc.. This was off the top of my head and I may well have forgotten something. The big numbers are the transfer fee, agent fees (as an example, Liverpool have spent £25M plus VAT on agent fees over the past three years) and possibly other intermediary fees (what do you mean you have a super agent?}

What is paid by the selling club would typically include:

(a) If the player is under 24, a Solidarity contribution paid to his previous clubs responsible for his training - this is 5% of the transfer fee received.
(b) Any monies owed to the player if he did not request a transfer – again this is 5% of the transfer fee received.
(c) Any monies owed to the player in terms of his contract (typically outstanding wages and bonuses).}

I know there are a few of us less than impressed with current transfer activity but tbh I'm quite happy. I'm sad to see someone of Ledleys quality leave but at the same time excited to see Johansen in the flesh. I'm also excited to see if Griffiths can cut out the off field antics and become the player he can be rather than another Riordan that some expect. Only thing I'm disappointing in is that the Greek tragedy is still on the books. He has at times been immense but on far more occasions looked uninterested and I even remember seeing him getting ready to come off the bench at Ipox looking bewilder at his surrounding to almost the extent I'm sure I read his lips saying "the last thing I remember is leaving the Savoy with some wee blonde piece" lol

Great post ed. Do you think this is the job he wants? The reason I ask is I've heard him nail his colours to the mast in the past, as have others but have then been lured by the bright lights of relegation battles in the epl or mid table mediocrity of the championship. He will have offers of the above with bigger comparative budgets and wages but I'd this is a matter of choice I'm all for it.

Toffeebhoy88

{Ed007's Note - He might feel he might never get the chance again, he doesn't need money, a crack at the CL and a few league titles and trophies. Who knows buddy.}

Hearing he may bel loaneds straight back for thes season. Seems a decent young player but do we need yet more midfielders?

Think we're jumping the gun a bit here. As ed has said repeatedly Genk have accepted a bid. It looks to me like the player is happy to leave us hanging in the hope an epl club come in.

I find it a wee bit cringe worthy to be honest. Yes rules are rules and if rules have been broken then the guilty party should be taken to task. The player in question however had no impact on the aggregate score so we were humped already. Personally I'd like to see Ronny being backed financially and having a crack at the Europa league.

We could play Izzy at LB and Charlie at CM or bring Rogic into the frame. Might also depend on whether Matthews will be available. I was looking forward to seeing him getting a few games at RM in the absence of Forrest so fingers crossed he'll be ok.

I personally have no issue with using the loan system if its the right player in the right position. Fraser Forster was a great loan signing and eventually signed full time and brought in a good transfer fee for us. If the player isn't realistically going to move permanently then they should be here either to cover long term injury, part of a bigger plan like being in place of a youth player who is out on loan gaining first team experience before coming into our own first team or like Roberts is an exceptional talent and is a long term loan. We've had too many dud loans who have barely played and must have cost the club a fortune in fees and wages.

No more midfielders please. Not until we offload some anyway and only if we replace with better.

I'd go with:

Gordon
Lustig
Sviatchenko (if fit)
Mulgrew
Tierney
Brown
Bitton
Roberts
Johansen
Kazim-Richards
Griffiths

I know Johansen and Kazim-Richards might surprise a few but think Johansen has been looking a bit better recently and hoping the big occasion will focus him. Going with Kazim-Richards purely for a bit of strength and height in attack.

Don't usually bet on the horses but thought I'd break the bank with a £1 e/ w on your 2 for today Tim. Got 12/ 1 and 16/ 1 so might get to book that cruise yet 😜.

{Ed023's Note - Lads, can I suggest ye pop over to the horse racing page? It gives me a better chance then to interact with anyone having a punt? http://footballrumoursbets.co.uk/horse-racing-tips.php}

I downloaded Kodi on my laptop and works fine too. Will need to look into getting some kind of android box though connecting thel laptop to the telly every time you want to stream a match can be a pain.
