Wouldn’t mind the boy Cifuentes, looks a real player. Head to head with city though, hope we can bring him here 🍀🤞🏻.

Aye. He was great in LA law!

2.) 24 Jun 2019 20:39:34
So what's the chances of him coming to us rather than city? If they sign him and give him to us for 2 year loan that would do, especially if they pay the lads wages.

I need to laugh at the way some of our supporters think. It’s all doom and gloom because players are up for speculation. It’s the sign of a good team that other teams are after our players. It happens to every club, not just ours. I feel the board are banking on Tierney getting sold before we spend any real cash, and quite rightly so.

Sell him, and bring in the four or five quality players we need with that money. It’s good business. Cheer up, and look forward to who’s going to come in, rather than who’s heading out the door 🍀.

I disagree that its right that we should have to sell KT before we can spend any real cash, we need to keep our best players.
I have stuck up for Peter Lawwell for years, always maintaining he has a 10 year plan, which up to now has worked well because we have 8 in a row and 50 million in the bank. We have built the bank balance up over the years for a rainy day and that rainy day is here. Celtic need to kick on now and build a team around our best players and bring 10 in a row home because its a once in a lifetime opportunity that we can not mess up.

2.) 24 Jun 2019 00:14:15
What about bringing in 4 r 5 players to play with Kieran? Like should be happening anyway with the muney wee have but I will reserve my judgment till the end of the window.

3.) 24 Jun 2019 07:15:09
I feel the board are banking on tierney being sold before they spend money, and quite rightly so! Souny what utter nonsense that is! It’s fans like u that lawell absolutely loves by the way! We shouldn’t have to sell our best player in order to spend money! How about we keep KT and actually buy some players to compliment his talents eh! Would that be to much to ask considering we had a record breaking turnover last season, that season tickets have sold out and new strips and merchandise flying out the door! And I see we’re linked with max Lowe who was on loan from Aberdeen last year! That the quality players we’re getting with the KT money? We’re going into a 9iar season with the prospect of losing arguably our best player and an inspirationaly figure for fans and players alike but we’ll just cheer up eh! Total and utter garbage!

4.) 24 Jun 2019 15:41:40
The reason a lot supporters are voicing concerns is because we have a history in selling key players and then only spending a fraction of the proceeds, usually on utter dross.

5.) 24 Jun 2019 15:43:16
If KT goes Lennon will be lucky to see half the funds. You mention bringing in quality - Tierney is quality and he's quoted at 25m. We can't afford quality. That's why we should be holding on to KT for as long as possible.

Ryancelt, I agree with you mate. I think we should be sending our young coaches to Ajax or the Barcelona’s to be coached into a different way of coaching kids, and getting our lads to play the way they do 👍.

We need to do something because we produce very little in terms of young players who are good enough to get into our team, never mind teams of a higher calibre. In the last twenty years we have produced, for my mind, only Tierney who could get a game for the Man City’s of this world. Mcgreggor, Forrest, McGeady apart, we have produced next to nothing.

We now have Henderson, Johnson and Dembelle and to be honest I think only Dembelle has the potential to play for bigger teams. Both Henderson and Johnson look too slight to make that step up. Dembelke too could do with a growth spurt but he has a golden touch. We always hear about this young player or that coming through, but the proof is on how many actually play for us week in week out. That number is pathetically low. Something needs to be changed as one player every ten years or so is an awful return. We produce players for the Dundee’s of this world and that return is woeful.

MP are you sure your a celtic fan you have very little to say that's good about our magnificent club.
You do know that we just won a treble treble.

3.) 10 Jun 2019 22:47:32
Problems we had last season, nobody anticipated. Manager, injuries, signings but we still cleared up in all competitions. Squad was not as strong as previous season but were still streets ahead of competition.

I'm certain only reason there was a poor transfer window at start of season was Lawwell knew deal was done for Rodgers to go to Leicester and wasn't prepared to back a dead horse when he knew new manager would have new ideas. Common sense really.

4.) 11 Jun 2019 01:11:06
There is always only a handful of young talent that make it to the top of the Scottish game anyway.

From what I've seen over the years, the majority is coming out of lennoxtown, so I'm not too disheartened by the youngsters right now.

Young Henderson, wee dembele and Johnston look like real good young players, all about bleeding them in at the right time and watch them go from strength to strength.

Ryancelt, also played out from the back and got leathered in the CL and EL. Countless number of individual mistakes trying to play that way, it’s criminal against these top teams. Fair enough domestically, but watching it sometimes makes you want to turn the telly off!

Souny1888

1.) 29 May 2019 11:43:06
Playing out from the back didn't get us weathered in Europe. Being unable to hold on to possession under pressure did.

2.) 29 May 2019 11:49:13
That’s was Rodgers arrogance that got us pumped In Europe mate. You can still be setup defensively against the big boys and play good counter attacking football, Rodgers arrogance stopped him doing that.

3.) 29 May 2019 12:08:41
It did my head in when Gordon passed the ball sideways to the defender who immediately invited pressure onto us. Bonkers.

4.) 29 May 2019 12:50:51
Rodgers purported it was his philosophy to play that way but anyone who watched the Leicester v man city could clearly see he set them up defensively not to lose a goal hypocrite me thinks.

5.) 29 May 2019 16:03:48
I agree with Kev on this one, it's our inability to keep hold of the ball under pressure especially in the midfield area that is the cause of most our defeats in Europe. If you play out from the back you have to keep the ball or you put yourself under pressure, with us not having a Dembele up top now there is no outlet for when we are under pressure .

6.) 29 May 2019 17:56:27
If you look at how Rodgers set the team up against Bayern at home playing with wing backs we were much more sound defensively and also offered plenty going forward but he never tried it again.

7.) 29 May 2019 23:00:33
I found it rather strange when B R managed Leicester City against Manchester City, he had 9 or 10 Leicester players running back to within 30/35 yds from own goal when Man City had the ball .
This was a relatively meaningless game for Leicester .
His principles seemed to prevent him from having Celtic defend in such depth .
Of course there is no principle in EPL.

Stevie, id like to point out that Rodgers won nothing before he came to Celtic, fair enough he ran close to winning the premier league, but he didn’t. Moyes is NOT my first choice either, but if the board chose him to be the man to lead this great club then i’ll sure as he’ll be 100% behind him. Davie Moyes had a good record at Everton, he done not too bad with West Ham either. Moyes is as good a manager as we will get!

Souny1888

1.) 24 May 2019 08:03:08
Moyes is a nice enough guy but middle of the road manager.
He was given enough resources at Everton and West Ham to keep that place but never really challenged.
Personally, I think he would not be a good move for us.
Can't see Rafa coming here (good manager though)
Is Lennon the man for us? He did well last time around and his CL record gave us some good nights. Maybe given a bit more funding and support by the board?
It will be interesting, for sure, to see who gets it.

2.) 24 May 2019 08:14:44
Moyes is as good a manager as we will get? Jeezo God help us. No premiership team in England will touch him, no Championship clubs want him, no club in Europe are interested after his pathetic effort at Socieded, so he decides to whore himself around Scotland to try get work. Like I said my biggest problem with him is when he had his chance before he knocked us back. Get him to f***.

3.) 24 May 2019 11:30:50
Unfortunately Moyes doesn't need the money, so he is a cheap option.
