Hi ed, thanks for running a really great site. Me and my bro have season books in south west corner area 123. We can't see the big screen and miss out on replays and windfall draw etc. The SLO says there are no plans to replace the smaller screen that was in that area. Having forked out over a grand between us I think it's really poor that there is no replacement screen. Are there any other fans in the same boat? Wondering is there anything else we can do?

Phil1888

{Ed007's Note - You're welcome, Phil and thanks. I've seen people talking to JP Taylor about screens and the sound system but until the Club decide to upgrade them I don't know what else you can do unless there is some sort of concerted effort from a group of season ticket holders affected.}

Thanks ed.

{Ed007's Note - No probs. (yes)

2.) 10 Aug 2017 23:32:59
Has the sound system not been upgraded.

{Ed007's Note - There was folk moaning about it on Tw@tter at the weekend so I'm just going with that, Des.}

i've heard different things about the stadium expansion, what is the official line?

Phil1888

1.) 17 Jun 2017 23:20:31
IMO there will be no expansion. No need for it at this moment in time. I DO see the argument FOR it, and over a period of maybe 10-15 years it would pay for itself. However apart from the very biggest European nights I don't see the demand. I have seen all the ideas about giving schools free tickets etc and it really does sound great. Don't get me wrong. I would LOVE Paradise to be completed. just don't see it happening anytime soon.

2.) 18 Jun 2017 01:40:55
I don't think it will be anytime soon either, last I heard the board had said that it wasn't financialy viable at this time. Maybe McCann had it built with the option of expansion for the eventuality that we would one day play in England or some form of European League. Still, 76000 tims on a CL night would generate an Earth shattering atmosphere.

3.) 18 Jun 2017 08:17:56
Weird you guys mention it was at the traffic lights yday with my old man and we were talking about how incredible an atmosphere it would be with that extra tier on top. The hotel is a fantastic idea too. Always amazing to be a Tim. Thank the Lord.

4.) 17 Jun 2017 23:13:18
It would be nice to see official plans released by the Club Phil it would create some buzz, No reason to doubt the guy i get my info from and he said the Clubs plans are to make a new South Stand which will have 2 tiers. Bottom tier will be open for SPL games and will be roughly the same capacity as it is now with top tier being opened for CL games or in demand games that will add around 14,000-17,000 seats. Hospitality Suites, new changing rooms etc a priority. Who knows might never happen it's something that has been discussed for many a year. Costs would be huge and don't know what would happen with the red brick as i believe it is listed, Then again i think the old school was, Maybe someone in the know can explain more about that. Ed have you not heard anything concrete about this (excuse the pun) .

{Ed007's Note - No mate, it seems to be all speculation about expanding the South Stand capacity and it is more likely any work will be to bring the stadium up to hosting a UEFA tournament final e.g. expanding the changing rooms and having an enclosed area for teams arrival and a bigger press area.}

5.) 18 Jun 2017 11:39:35
Thanks Ed, Seems like the most logical thing to do at the moment with the likes of the Hotel etc being built. Maybe the plans were made up in the event of Celtic playing elsewhere. In saying that 10 years of CL nights would go a long way towards costs. This story is currently giving Paddys are run for it's money.

{Ed007's Note - I don't think we need to expand the capacity, think how empty the stadium would feel with 25- 30,000 empty seats for games we only get 40k at or early cup matches when the crowd is even lower. It would make the stadium look even better overall and would be amazing when it's full and rocking but it would really affect the atmosphere during games where we already struggle to fill the seats we have.
Until Celtic Park is bursting at the seams for most games I don't think extending the capacity is necessary. }

6.) 18 Jun 2017 12:03:48
Aye you could be right and I suppose there's plenty work can be done to improve the existing building without spending fortunes. Someone brought up a good point a few weeks back regarding the restricted views i'd like to see the club try to improve that if possible.

7.) 18 Jun 2017 16:09:50
Last season it looked like it was packed out most weeks. 52,000 season tickets sold this season so not a lot of spare tickets for non season ticket holders. How many tickets go on sale to Celtic fans each week?

Ed thanks for keeping site going. I completely agree with your analysis of wed night. No reason after few more in downs we won't be playin like monchen.

JFP what has public sector got to do with anything? If people work hard for their dough they can spend it anyway they like.

Let's look at the window, we have brought in players during the window, especially I between qualifying rounds to get us in the UCL. We also shipped out dead wood, and the players we brought in have hit the ground running.

No one at all from the club mentioned marquee signings. What is that all about anyway? Inflated wages for inflated fees? Give me an unknown Lubo, Henrik, wanyama, etc any day. The only people talking about marquee were the media, because they have nothing to beat us over.

As for the board, I think they have done brilliant. We are stable, have a great manager, invested in playing squad, and have not squandered the faith we (me too, I've 2 season books, shares and the rest) , put in them with our hard earned cash. PL and DD have shown great leadership and intent. This is the managers first window, wenger says it takes three to make a team your own. Let's see what happens next.

We are in all competitions and UCL. Some people are never happy.

Sure the British army were abseiling down the north stand this year. I don't agree with it, but we are a club open for all. If they want support club grand. Celtic park should not be a place for politics on all sides.
