Anyone heard anything regarding Daniel Sturridge? Heard from a few people now, he is very high on Brendan's wish list.

1.) 12 Apr 2017 16:43:18
Just no happening mate. We will get some decent signings, but its not going to be players on 3-4 times the wages of our highest paid players.

2.) 12 Apr 2017 19:00:05
Never off treatment table and his wages would b an issue so no chance uless a loan which a wouldn't fancy.

3.) 12 Apr 2017 21:08:38
Need to hire a full new medical team just for him.

4.) 12 Apr 2017 22:06:14
He is cracking player on his day and another one Rodgers got the best out off. Don't think we could ever afford him, or would be willing to take the risk on him. I heard some mad stories from Liverpool fans about why he wasn't playing but don't know how true they were.

5.) 12 Apr 2017 22:14:24
Feck sake big hand u can't say uv heard mad stories then leave it there, spill the beans man! Disnae matter if it's a loadashite.

6.) 13 Apr 2017 11:37:01
reports today said it was fabio borrini that rodgers wants.

7.) 13 Apr 2017 11:52:46
I agree Steph now I'm extremely curious 😅.

8.) 13 Apr 2017 13:40:10
Steph didn't mean to build you hopes up as it is nothing juicy lol. There was a story doing the rounds (think it even made The Guardian - should be easy to find online) that Sturridge was refusing to play on religious grounds, instead of being permanently injured.

When I say religious grounds I don't mean the playing fields behind the Chapel. I think God was telling him that Liverpool were shite and he would be better off going praying for a league title on a Sunday than struggling for a 2-2 draw against Burnley!

It was most likely a pile of tom tit to be honest.

{Ed001's Note - it is utter cack. He had an ongoing injury problem which needed to be managed, then went away with England and Roy Hodgson had a chip on his shoulder, refused to take Liverpool's medical advice over him, made him do normal training and it damn near crippled him.}

9.) 13 Apr 2017 19:13:08
I thought it sounded like a wind up Ed. Saying that, a few decades of the rosary would do Liverpool no harm! 😉.

{Ed001's Note - they used to call Liverpool the capital of Ireland, half jokingly, because of the huge population of Irish Catholics, I don't think there is any lack of rosaries there! Me dad's ma has enough for half of England to be fair, but that's what you get when you are brought up as an orphan by nuns I suppose.}

10.) 13 Apr 2017 20:05:57
Better than nothing bighand. Gave me a wee chuckle anyway. A knew ed1 would put u right mate.

Ed, is there still interest from Celtic in James McCarthy? Seems to have all gone quiet on that one

{Ed007's Note - I expect things to move on one way or another when Everton sort out the Schneiderlin transfer.}

1.) 06 Jan 2017 18:56:36
i thought maybe the eboue deal would've ended our interest in mccarthy?

2.) 06 Jan 2017 19:04:29
Great, thanks

{Ed007's Note - No probs.}

3.) 06 Jan 2017 23:57:31
I honestly hope our interest in McCarthy has faded, don't think he will improve our squad in anyway . Who's place does he take? He has hardly kicked a ball and when he does play for his club or country he's not great. Just my opinion! I know a few on here like him but I just don't see it

Apparently Jozo has failed his medical at Torino.

1.) 31 Aug 2016 11:32:55
If it's true, it's not a shock whatsoever.

2.) 31 Aug 2016 11:33:25
He should never kick a ball for us again, never mind insurance, sack him, maybe we were trying to be smart and we're working on getting him out for a while, but no matter, he thought he was fit enough to go and went hopping and skipping down the road.

3.) 31 Aug 2016 12:04:03
Heard that's not the case and Celtic and Torino are still in talks.

4.) 31 Aug 2016 12:07:46
Said on sky sports news jozo failed due to his neck, first time poster good site hh.

{Ed007's Note - Welcome aboard, Andy.}

5.) 31 Aug 2016 12:17:48
Jozo thinking he could just leave us like that. it must be his brass neck Sky were talkin aboot! lol HH.

6.) 31 Aug 2016 12:24:35
Heard that Jozo failed his medical when signing for us but
PL pushed through the deal as wee had just be ko from champs league and sold VVD so he needed to sign someone to appease the fans, celtic been told by medical staff he will never be fit and celtic have sent a phisio to Italy to help try and push this deal through .

7.) 31 Aug 2016 12:41:51
Not read anything to say Jozo pushed for the move. Still find it weird that Torino would want someone in his condition. If he stays and somehow gets fit we would be well covered in that department, if he goes we'll recoup outlay.

8.) 31 Aug 2016 12:46:44
I heard when he signed he was going to give us problems with game time due to injuries. Thing is fo we keep him on the off chance he lasts injury free for a run of games or cut our losses and sell him. If it was a panic buy lawell will be glad to see back of him.

9.) 31 Aug 2016 12:53:48
I would find it highly unlikely PL would sign anyone who failed a medical and if it was to please the fans what benefit would there be to the fans bringing in a player who can't play.

Think someone is pulling your leg man.

10.) 31 Aug 2016 13:08:34
My concern is that we were maybe going to use his transfer fee to fund an incoming transfer for today. I hope this doesn't block any moves.

11.) 31 Aug 2016 13:19:23
Bet AEK Athens would take a punt on him 😂.

12.) 31 Aug 2016 16:46:20
Looks like it's not true about Jozo failing medical.

Although I like the idea of a bigger league, the problem with your suggestion KH is that one team would be left not playing on the last day in both the bottom and top sections as there is an odd number in each section of the league. To ensure fairness there is no way one team would be allowed to finish their campaign before others.

Don't always have to spend big though, Steven Caulker just been released by QPR. I know he's had his personal issues however Rodgers would be the man to get him on the straight and narrow again and to get a player like that on a free is surely worth it?
