Not sure what I prefer - humping them like the first game or breaking their wee hearts with a late goal! They would have celebrated going into extra time as a tactical master show from the bread man so think I will always prefer a late winner! GIRUY!

1.) 23 Oct 2016 22:30:12
There's nothing like scoring a late winner against them, there's no feeling like it.
I've not seen the match on TV, but at the ground I couldn't see anything wrong with the goal we had ruled out, it's things like that which puts doubts in your mind and you start to wonder if it's one of those games when everything goes against us.
I thought as the match went on we became more and more dominant, it says a lot for the fitness of the players as we had a tough match on Wednesday whilst they hadn't played for nine days.
I wonder what excuses Warburton will come up with this time, I don't imagine he'd have the good grace to admit that the best team won.

2.) 24 Oct 2016 00:36:41
Nothing wrong with the goal at all, Another honest mistake!

3.) 24 Oct 2016 12:14:44
There wasn't a reason to disallow the goal. It was clear Eric had eyes only for the ball. On the other hand over the hill, Hill made a couple of attempts to pull Eric away as Hill dived for the ground . I find it hard to believe that Thompson didn't see it as a legitimate goal but disallowed it anyway.

4.) 24 Oct 2016 18:58:28
Gerry they would never admit anything of the sort. We know the truth n that's all that matters.

Pleased to see us starting contract talks with Lustig. Another player that has had a cracking season so far. Didn't know he was only 29 - always thought he was older so still plenty of years ahead of him!

I know some people weren't impressed last year with him, is this still the the same?

1.) 16 Oct 2016 12:02:53
Lustig plays his heart out every game. He really does love the club and is a solid player for us I hope he decides to stay.

2.) 16 Oct 2016 17:57:01
I think lustig is a strong player for us, its just his injury problems that have been the problem.

3.) 16 Oct 2016 17:40:15
Agree with Marco, my only concern is he is a bit injury prone and this will only get worse as he gets older.

4.) 16 Oct 2016 22:52:09
Only Biton, Gordon and Griffiths played more games than Lustig last season and he played 44 games.

5.) 17 Oct 2016 16:58:32
Lustig is superb at hiding his proneness to injuries . If it wasn't for some posters on here we would have forgotten about his injuries . Regular starter this season and 44 games last season, not really too bad.

Fair enough rabmac if that's true I didn't realise that, he just seems to limp off a lot 😁.

Having a few beers watching the league cup final - actually quite gutted that we aren't in The final as it's a nice sunny day and ideal for the game, pitch looks good as well.

I see stokes got called up for ireland! How?

Thought it was interesting what RD was saying about Tierney. If he thinks that then why doesn't he play more of the young players as the fans will get behind them. Look at Man U in the last few games, played youth and had the best backing of the fans they have had this season and also getting a few results.

Not sure if I'm correct here but I don't remember tier eyes name really getting mentioned earlier in the season? He got his chance because izzy and mulgrew were out and he took it, maybe a few other youngsters who could step up? And I mean players we have developed not young players signed from other clubs.

How good is it though that we can now confidently say no to a possible £10 million bid. Previous years we would be biting their hand off so we could break even due to no champions league revenue!

Simunovic, sviatchenko, tierney, Sinclair, Dembele - wouldn't see any of them leaving for under £10 million

Armstrong, Rogic - possibly in that bracket soon. Other first team players not mentioned I dint see leaving - brown, lustig, Gordon.

Good player who I would always have said yes to signing but do we need him? We only play one striker and have two good ones fighting for the position.

Hmmm fair enough ed! Wasn't aware of that. I know you aren't expecting much from him with what you hve been saying, I haven't seen much of the guy at all so have no idea if he will do well or not. We can look at it two ways, club showing no ambition by signing free transfer or club being sensible by minimising risk from, previous strikers by getting a free transfer in! Hope the guy comes good as we were all wary when we signed lee griffiths so might be another?

{Ed007's Note - The only time I can remember hearing his name was for the wrong reasons. Why sign him 6 months after signing Ciftci and put Ciftci out on loan. We all know RD is meticulous in his planning so where are these bizarre short term deals coming from?
Without major investment in the squad during the summer I'm afraid the CL demanders are going to be very disappointed. Instead of losing deadwood we seem to be collecting more and more.}

Tamc I agree with you on This one. When did anyone last watch CKR in a run of games that can confidently comment on how good or not he is? As u said he has over 30 caps for turkey who are a good international team and he was free so pretty low risk if u ask me. Or we could spend 1.5m on ciftci. chow many caps does he have for the same country? Not that I'm saying CKR is any good but for a free transfer it's less of a risk. Maybe that's the new signing policy!

{Ed007's Note - He's had two caps since 2011, Marty, 37 caps in 9 years. We're not getting one of Turkey's better players here mate, not by a long shot. This is probably worse than Steven Fletcher.}

Good point about moyes to be fair that I hadn't thought of, his reputation went downhill after Man U and you can see the wonders LVG has done taking over! I think that lawell/ banker, etc see RD as a long term manager to help build the club up from youth through to first team meaning that players costing nothing can be sold on for a big profit. If there was ever a time for the first team to be weaker and start to bring through youth and go down that route then it's now. Difference being that we have had a decent run in Europe over the past ten years which has possibly spoilt us in Europe? Before MON we were always poor in Europe, he got us up to a high standing but had a lot of money to spend, WGS helped continue this but then started to go downhill from NL. We aren't going to get money MON had so long term plan needed to change. Just my thoughts but I feel that's why the board are happy to keep ronnie.

True cha I have noticed him going of the outside more which is good but he needs to learn to use his right foot more as a professional footballer he should be able to use both feel as should all.

Em no footy, in no way did I say that CG was/ is a good player nor do I like or rate him him. All I'm saying is that it wasn't a red card and I don't agree with CS. what has him being Scottish got to do with anything?

I agree with you that he is a bomb scare and his reading/ anticipation of the ball is dreadful hence the mistimed challenge but it stil wasn't a red card. If the ref did give a red card however it wouldn't have surprised me. I think it was one if those decisions where half of us will say it wasn't a red card and half will say it was. Can't win or agree with them all.

If it was an outfield player that made the same challenge would we be saying it was a red? Maybe, maybe not? I would guess more would say not.

Izzy and Armstrong were good. Henderson was ok, mcgregor was poor. Roberts was ok just a bit predictable at times.

Is he? Why? I normally like him but thought he was a bit of a twat tonight. CG wasn't a red card tonight as whilst I absolutely hate MS he was right about it and CS was wrong.
