It's been almost five years of running.
How many beating would we have given them if their King maker had paid up and played fairly with all concerned.

They were only intrested in winning that's why they went down the lower leagues but they're getting their medicine now.

Regardless of the result tomorrow I remember the 87-88 season well and that run of failure that followed finishing 4th by 10 pointt gap a few seasons after winning a double but at least we made a game of it. Possibly 22 points behind at this point in the season.

They had 4 years to build a team they still owe everyone in sight cash from wifi deals their kit providers and of course the King makers loans.
Creedence were as clear as water when they penned Fortunate Son 🔫.

Dont think anyone has given Hopoel any credit for their performence last night they showed they were decent had it been Maccabi we were plaing the gutter rags may have given us credit.

The total right side of our team last night was all over the place Kolo looked reassured but the rest were weak at times McGregor and Janko won't feature much again not sure about Gordon he looks under pressure that second goal was as bad as you will see. But we made it plenty of time now to get a proper ball winner in the middle of the park. Hopfully 3 in and a few out Snodgrass McCarthy and Vorns would be nice.

They played as most people expected as they had nothing to lose and have a proud home record to defend.
We surrendered far too much possession because, most of the team froze - as seems to happen in most away games in Europe and when players can't seem to do even the basics, then the game-plan flies out the windae. I agree our right side was awful, but the left and central mid was struggling as well and the front players suffered.
This was not the most skillful opponent we have faced as although they had the vast majority of the play, they created very little and both goals were of our own mistakes.
I think Gordon had maybe two other saves including the penalty, in the whole game, but unfortunately we created even less.
It clearly shows the board, that we need investment in the team if we are to step up and try to compete with Europe's elite?

Toure saved us. Defence with janko was a shambles.

We need him out along with efe and Boyata.

Usual rubbish being printed in the gutter rags it reassures me that soon toilet paper such as the Daily Ranger and The Scum will be long gone with their drink soaked spiv hacks with them.

You would really think they could come up with somthing better than what's the best 11 in Glasgow's derby wait another couple of weeks and then print yer crap Keith Jackson.

Don't believe the Hype.

Joe Miller's choice was spot on! lol.

2.) 28 Jul 2016 16:07:01
Some guy left Paddy Roberts out. Why is he a professional sports journalist?

3.) 28 Jul 2016 21:58:08
I believe Paddy Rodgers was awarded only 6 last night in D R .
Surely that is a disgrace.

Thought we looked solid tonight more organised. Glad to see 2 up even if it didn't really work.? . i'm pleased fair result.

The lads which played were decent we have some really good well balanced players in he team. All we need now is a few runners. shoot the runner Pedro. 😁.

It's good to see how the hacks on sky sports work. Celtic fc still have their council and confidentiality a few ex Bhoys were on the payroll tonight . thought they were all consuming not in Glasgow it looks well done Pedro.

They were on to discuss all concerned in Manchester eye eye . Neil and Martin on tap. wonder why Roy wasn't playing ball I'm ' rather glad about that,

Sorry, Ed I know you are Keen on Keane. 🍀🍀 spot on With Brendan though HH Amigo⭐️.

{Ed007's Note - I didn't want Keane to get the job, I wouldn't mind him as a No.2 now though but that's never going happen.}

I'd take big yogi any day of the week. Managers have it easy but real coaches have a tough gig. I had a chuckle watching LVG telling the world Jose visited him on a weekly basis to give the Barselona team talk.

No wonder football is ****ed. Brian Clough used to hand brown envelopes out on the bus on the same routes and won old big ears twice with Forest,

Look what happened this year with a good coach. Managers are long gone dinosaurs. guy's like Roy Keane are well spent forces but his ego won't allow him to work up here it's a shame but for 2.5 million reasons Brendan will.

{Ed007's Note - I'd be happy with Hughes but as long as Rodgers had met him and OKd it. I sitll don't think you can discount guys like O'Driscoll or Colin Pascoe but for me he needs someone with experience and knowledge of the Scottish game. I don't think Kennedy has that yet.
I told my nephew the other week about Rodgers getting the job and told him how I knew, he went to bed tonight expecting MON to take over from Park, Keane as No.2 and Larsson as coach because Ibrahimovic is signing! :=D Thank God I'm not cleaning his bed sheets!}

2.) 24 May 2016 04:18:17
I'd be happy with Hughes as a no. 2 and then take over in a couple of years when BR would move on. Hughes would be a great motivator for the team, the passion he has is second to none.!

3.) 24 May 2016 11:36:40
When Rodgers was talking about how good the coaches and managers up here were all a could think was he's been told he's getting someone from up here as no 2. A know he said he knows the club well enough to bring in someone on his own after that but the alarm bells were already ringing. A hope they don't force anyone on him.

4.) 24 May 2016 11:42:03
Would Jim Duffy be a good choice for number 2 lads.

5.) 24 May 2016 11:56:40
Jim Duffy would be a very good appointment to celtics coaching staff.
Knows the Scottish game inside out and is a very good man.
Same with yogi but I still think Rogers will get his own man in.

6.) 24 May 2016 12:23:09
I hope he does Kev because its important to be comfortable with your numbed 2, maybe Jim would be a good choice the way GS brought TB into the coaching set up.

7.) 24 May 2016 14:52:35
Regardless who it is, it must be BR who appoints. I personally think that is a major factor as to why it never worked out for RD, the forced appointment of JC.

8.) 24 May 2016 16:16:39
I think it's will be some one he has worked with before perhaps Warburton 😁.

9.) 24 May 2016 22:14:05
The assistant coach seems to have taken a far more important role in recent years . I think years ago a good assistant would be seen and not heard.

One of the best centre halfs in the buisness played for Aberdeen he was 5ft 10 in tall quick strong and kept a few better technically guifted players out of the Scotland team.

Mainly because he had a hardness about him that not many players have today we had a player a couple of seasons ago who resembled him not VVD who was and is top class but get him in.

KT is a excellent player. And his best position is left back it will be interesting to see if Rodgers thinks he is good enough to play that position. As it scuppers The 3-5-2.

I like 3-5-2. I don't think he is a wing back but he is an old school defender in the mould of our best right back Daniel Fergus McGrain a hard type solid as you will get Martin O'Neill seen Scottish football for what it was. we don't need to defend as much win the midfield play two up front with two wide players.

Time will tell he is undoubtedly the best left sided player we have seen since Tommy Boyd good problem for Brendan Rodgers all the same you don't build a team around a left back or can you?

You can't bring in a manager on 40 plus grand a week and then expect him to play with excuse the pun himself. I have never been a Brendan Rodgers fan to be honest Liverpool has a place in my heart my old Nana God bless her a Toffee bought me a Liverpool strip circa 1984 she was a Kirkby lass but they are more diplomatic down there than we are up here.

Anyway Brendan is here to build a team and I think and beleave he will be allowed to do that the Irish mafioso have backed this as you just need to look around the stands for the advertising boards the club is being prepared for domination of Scotland forget England take the good nights in Europe when and if they come the rest will take care of it's self. Hail Hail
Hail Hail.

I hope Brendan Rodgers picks John Hughes. That was my point he won't come in and accept just anything thrown at him. it will probably be Gary McAllister or Steve Clarke whoever it is it will be his choice.

its only my opinion 🍀🍀🍀😡

But Big Yogi knows Scottish football inside out plays the right way and has that snarl needed to drive the best out of people. I think it would be a good option.
