BBC live deadline day are saying Charlie Adam as arrived at celtic Park. Surely not.

Hoopyric1888

1.) 31 Aug 2016 14:55:38
He's a strong no-nonsense player, no matter about his history with the pre-Sevco club HH.

2.) 31 Aug 2016 15:00:22
My brother just texted me that one Hoopyric i'll not tell you what i replied but the second word was OFF.

3.) 31 Aug 2016 15:01:58
No they never, they just shared some rumour tweets.

4.) 31 Aug 2016 15:08:13
Its not them whos said it is someone whos tweeted into them.

5.) 31 Aug 2016 15:10:41
I read that 2 hoopyric.

What you reckon bhoys.

6.) 31 Aug 2016 15:13:37
Lol, I thought it was a good wind up lol. Izzy to stay at least till January.

7.) 31 Aug 2016 15:26:43
Jamesbhoy: LOL what OFF?

Hoopy, Izzy bleeds celtic - it would take something out of the ordinary for him to go I reckon.

8.) 31 Aug 2016 15:29:24
Was he not 1 of the 1st players BR shipped out of pool when he took over?

9.) 31 Aug 2016 15:48:17
It wasn't TAKE A WEEK OFF either Cavalcanti lol.

10.) 31 Aug 2016 16:05:39
Chas was one of king kennys signings jeez no thanks.

11.) 31 Aug 2016 16:10:55
Would like a player like Charlie Adams - but not about The Charlie Adams

suppose I'm not bitter and it would wind up the siths.

12.) 31 Aug 2016 16:32:14
Dont know what i'm more gutted about adams arriving or barton leaving!

Running scared because he knows celtic park will rip him a knew one!

20 Jul 2016 13:15:32
I read on another celtic site that villa knocked back our latest bid for sinclair of 2"75 million. No word on Duffy yet.

Hoopyric1888

08 Jul 2016 22:41:02
Looks like nothing is going happen tonight regarding Duffy or toure.

Hoopyric1888

07 Jul 2016 15:09:18
Ed, Any truth in Duffy rumours. Apparently br is wanting this deal though before the qualifier.

Hoopyric1888

{Ed007's Note - We contacted Blackburn late on Tuesday night about Duffy and if the move for him is being brought forward it could mean the Club aren't confident of getting Toure in. Toure was seen as the priority and Duffy would have been brought in later in the window considering the lad's just back from the Euros and his holidays.}

1.) 07 Jul 2016 17:45:18
Could it be getting brought forward because there are other teams circling ed007??

{Ed007's Note - Around Duffy? I know that Sunderland were interested in signing him so perhaps they or someone else has made an approach.}

2.) 07 Jul 2016 18:13:57
You think Rogers wants him enough that that could have made celtic step it up?

{Ed007's Note - I don't think there's any doubt that Rodgers wants him.}

3.) 07 Jul 2016 19:55:47
Heard something about Swansea wanting him ED! I know the boys a big celtic fan but will he maybe fancy the EPL? I know he's in his final year but do Blackburn want to sell him mate? What's your thoughts on kolo and toure ED, u think they'll do a job?

{Ed007's Note - I'm not surprised that there's more teams interested and everyone's been waiting on Dufy returning before anything could be done, Crystal Palace have also been in touch with Blackburn who certainly don't want to lose the player for nothing next summer and have offered him a contract extension.}

28 Jun 2016 21:45:34
I personally believe he will run riot up here. He scored 17 goals in 35 matches in the championship which is a harder league than the spl. I also heard that we have put in a official bid for sinclair. Any truth in this ed.

Hoopyric1888

1.) 28 Jun 2016 23:04:45
Sinclair bid got rejected mate 2 million was supposedly what we offered they want more.

2.) 29 Jun 2016 09:21:11
Not having a dig at you or young dembele hoopyric . I hate hearing that "he'll run riot up here ". it crops up when we go for anyone out of England or another" big "league . over the last few years we've been shown that isn't alwYs the case . players sometimes can't adapt or aren't as good as our scouts suggest and with the way spl teams play with 10 behind the ball it isn't as easy as so. e people suggest. hopefully this bhoy is different and as I said it's the phrase rather than the sentiment I dislike.

3.) 29 Jun 2016 11:26:23
I get what your saying but think playing in the Championship will stand the lad in good stead for SPL.

4.) 29 Jun 2016 11:36:39
Worry is tompo he's only 19 . couple of poor games then our fickle fans will be all over him. same with young ajer both are being hyped up and if they don't hit the ground running they will get roasted.

5.) 29 Jun 2016 11:52:57
I agree with that drb, they're only young lads, and need to be given a bit of leeway, and a good settling in period.

6.) 29 Jun 2016 15:41:34
I think young Ajer could be in for one hell of a tough time if he is played regularly from the outset and doesn't be player of the match every game . Coming from Norway will have the mouths among our supporters down on him dfrom the word go, they will think he has a cheek thinking he can step up to the SPL .
I expect Dembele to do well, not because he has played in the Championship but because he seems to have his head screwed on and with the pace, strength and ability he seems to process he should do well against the very strong defensive set-ups in the SPL.

7.) 29 Jun 2016 20:11:58
Ajer will be fine he'll be used sensibly the midfield is reasonably strong so don't see the problem.

8.) 30 Jun 2016 01:15:03
Our "fickle" fans? What's this patter all about? Behave yourselves lads, we always give young players a bit of leeway. Name me a young player that tried his best n got stick?

9.) 30 Jun 2016 22:28:22
When's the first flight to Norway? 😉.

If my memory serves me correctly. Didn't MON's first ever old firm game not in a 6-2 rout and went on to dominate old firm games. I don't want to temp fate here but long may it continue.

Hoopyric1888

1.) 11 Sep 2016 09:47:28
Mons first old Firm game finished 6-2 the next old Firm game was played at ibrokes and we lost 5-1.

2.) 11 Sep 2016 10:47:11
Marco that won't happen this time. They may beat us once over the season as may Aberdeen but it's a 20 points win for the league. Rangers need £10 mill in transfer fees alone just to start a challenge. I think yesterday was a massive wake up call for Scottish football. The guff being put around about how Rangers saved Scottish football just shows how little these people who write this stuff actually understand. For this season we will get viewers tuning into Celtic v rangers derby. But when they all realise that rangers are no better than the rest of the teams and can't mount a challenge to Celtic what happens then. When rangers are 3rd or 4th in the league what's the position then? Marco these are different times now. Rangers may never get ahead of Celtic again as long as we don't sit back and allow them to play catch up.

3.) 11 Sep 2016 17:50:48
We signed a mid thirties player who is in superb form and clearly helps his fellow defenders.
Warbs signs various players in their thirties, mid thirties and even late thirties none of these should be playing for The Rangers, and those picked are not good enough for the SPFL.

4.) 11 Sep 2016 12:46:27
I do believe a weak Sevco helps every other team to compete for second place and that brings more interest and revenues for our game. When that last mob died the propoganda was all about Armageddon; even the ruling body was peddling that lie; now I just don't see it. Celtic lead the may upwards and show what half work, ambition and best supporters in through world van do. We are work in progress and I for one will take what we have now.

31 Aug 2016 11:27:32
Hey eds thanks for this site. I have been a reader of this page for years but never had the nerve to post things. I love reading this page and seeing what you guys within the know has to say.

I have read else where that jozo has failed his medical at torino. Do you think this will affect any possibility of bringing players in. Thanks again ed. HH.

Hoopyric1888

{Ed007's Note - I have no idea where the story Simunovic has failed a medical has came from, I'd hang fire with that just now. Either way I don't see how it will affect anything planned for coming in today.}

1.) 31 Aug 2016 11:37:53
I've seen this rumour aswell and wouldn't at all be surprised if it's true. He's hardly kicked a ball in a year, don't think he was 100% fit when we signed him so there's every chance he has failed the medical. Like u said though ED don't see how it would effect any business we're trying to do today.

2.) 31 Aug 2016 11:51:13
Thanks ed, much appreciated. One media source has just mentioned that jozo's deal is still going on. I hope more of the fringe players move on to allow more quality to come in. Keep up the good work ed.

{Ed007's Note - I'll try mate.}

3.) 31 Aug 2016 12:01:24
Seems it's coming fae Croatia ed007.

4.) 31 Aug 2016 12:03:29
The DR or 1 of it "reporter" tweeted it. Yet considering their connections inside asbestos Park they were unable to. make their mind up about Lescott.

5.) 31 Aug 2016 12:58:30
Apparently he hasn't failed medical and Torino are now asking for loan with option to buy. Celtic just want sale.

04 Aug 2016 10:59:37
I had nails before the match last night, now I have none. Over the moon we made it through. Imo. In the short period of time I feel o'connell is improving in every game. Like most of us, I am concerned with our goalkeeper, Gordon. I also think we require a play maker in midfield plus if Roberts is out for long period, we need another wide man. I think we require another striker for cover. Wow there is Rodgers four players lol. Ed, any word on sinclair. It feels there is no ending to this transfer. I haven't read all the previous posts incase I missed anything.

Hoopyric1888

1.) 04 Aug 2016 13:52:02
Tom Rogic! He is the playmaker you should be turning to! He has been continually played out of position and needs to perform the role he is more accustomed to!
(Yes, active member of the Tom Rogic appreciation society! )

2.) 04 Aug 2016 14:50:06
Playing well down under doesn't necessary mean a player can hack it in Europe or SPL . T R tends to play better when he comes on for last half hour and maybe would have come on if Paddy hadnt been injured.

3.) 04 Aug 2016 23:51:16
He should have been sent on instead of Johansen OB.

4.) 05 Aug 2016 01:16:48
Aussiebhoy . Some may agree with you, but I will go along with B R but if we were changing a mid fielder in second half might go with Rogic.

02 Aug 2016 14:04:27
I am really frustrated with the lack of transfer activity. Other teams have strengthened. Why are we dithering about like lost souls. Brendan by now should know what he requires and who goes. In the past, certain tabloids are very quiet about celtic before a major announcement. Geez, if this keeps up, it's going to be one massive announcement. Lol. I previously read and agreed with someone, why continually chase a player when a club continues to knock you back. You don't keep all your eggs in one basket, so to speak. That is if there is any truth in those rumours. If we don't qualify for champions league football, then it isn't the players fault this time, as they can only do what they can. The good players need help from other good ones brought in. Some may say I am worrying about nothing. But this group of players just scraped home last season. Rant over. One frustrated hoopy.

Hoopyric1888

1.) 02 Aug 2016 14:36:33
This same group of players would have romped it domestically last season and qualified for the CL if they had a better manager and if they don't get past Astana then it is 100% their fault as well as BR's. We've already signed one of the top prospects from the Championship, a league of better quality than our own, and a vastly experienced, Premiership winning centre back. We need to get rid of the dross and it's not always easy to find clubs willing to take dross, which might also be holding things up. There are too many folk having a go at the club for not doing the business when there are over 4 weeks left of the window and we don't know what they are or aren't doing behind the scenes. If things still aren't up to scratch by August 31st then fair enough but I'll wait and see what we end up with before being too critical. We're in the financial position where CL qualification might be the difference between getting Number 1 or Number 2 on the wishlist.

2.) 02 Aug 2016 15:24:33
Kevin that's all well and good waiting till end of window, but I wonder if we' ll be saying that on wed night if we're out on our arse because we dithered again, have we learned nothing these last 2 years.

3.) 02 Aug 2016 15:25:04
Guys BR knows the premiership well, he also knows the market well. He will be well aware the big boys spill the cash first and towards the end of it they have to get rid of players due to requirments and squad size.
Just maybe he is cleverer than us, what a thought eh lol.

4.) 02 Aug 2016 15:26:04
Reports online Allan away to Rotherham on loan.

5.) 02 Aug 2016 15:56:34
Mallythetally no disrespect to Astana but we shouldn't need anymore than the 2 good players we've already brought in to get past them. We were the better team in the first leg in my opinion so if we throw it away tomorrow it's not because we didn't spend big. What is there to learn from the last 2 years? We were 2-0 up after 10 minutes and threw it away due to a complete lack of game management, not lack of spending. And the season before that RD forced the players into a totally new system instead of trying to get through the qualifiers first and then easing them into it over time.

6.) 02 Aug 2016 16:32:17
Kev bhoy, I never thought there was a competition to get most numbers in . I never wanted that many in anyway as it blunts the opportunities that our young bhoys have I would rather have one of our youngsters getting game time rather than arguably slightly better player who was bought in .
Maybe another two in this window and at least 4/ 5 out.

7.) 02 Aug 2016 16:36:39
Point is Kev all am saying is if we had signed better players earlier and they were bedded in surely you have a better chance of qualifying the ladt 2 years suggests we're getting it wrong mate.

8.) 02 Aug 2016 17:18:54
That's fair enough and I agree with you to an extent but I think at times blaming lack of money being spent is a bit of a cop out. As I mentioned, we had Malmo beaten after 10 minutes at CP but didn't manage the game at all after that. If I had my way we'd have all our targets in already but we need to appreciate that it's not always that simple, especially for a team in Scotland. Like it or not there will be some players who will want to wait and see what our European prospects are before committing etc and sometimes the club gets stick when maybe they're doing the best they can. Obviously there have been numerous times where they've made awful decisions but all I'm saying is I don't think it's always the club's fault all the time. We might have been able to get a winger in by now but perhaps it's a guy who's played at a far lower level than Scott Sinclair (as an example) . So do we take the guy who is more of a gamble because we can get him quicker and cheaper or do we bite the bullet and play the waiting game for our obvious first choice target? It's a difficult job they have and at times it's a catch 22, especially if they go for the cheaper option and he doesn't perform well.

9.) 02 Aug 2016 18:02:06
Sufficiently better players within our price range have a large number of options they are not going to sign for us on the Ist of July, as maybe their WAG s may want more leisure time with them and an option of somewhere more glamourous than Glasgow .

10.) 02 Aug 2016 18:02:07
Totally agree with you Kev about waiting for the right player, I don't want signings for the sake of it I want the right players and I appreciate it takes time but with us it always seems like we're penny pinching and we're shutting the gate once the horse has bolted but regardless think we'll be OK tomorrow night.

Thanks ed007on the update on Duffy. Sorry I didn't get obline to say thanks. I feel it would be better if we got toure fir his experience but if we got Duffy I wouldn't be to upset. Better if we got both tho lol.

Rashford lol. I wish lol. Will be interesting to see what happens in the transfer market between now and Wednesday. BR is hard manager, janko and Gordon were garbage in Europe. He dropped them and now signing a right back. I have no name but I am almost certain another two in including gamboa. one being a CM. efe and Bitton sold.

Great to watch the game tonight. Long time since we saw a celtic team play like that. The movement, passing and speed was great to watch. If this is signs of things to come, well I ain't saying because I don't want to jinx it, but, signs are good. I Still feel we need a playmaker in mid.

I also love Lustig, I prefer him at centre half though. I believe Janko will get the same treatment as Efe has and young Ralston will get his chance to show what he can do. I think we will bring in a RB and a CM. Back four of Ralston, Toure, Tierney. Feck can't spell the fourth lol. Ain't I bad. that's my back four for sat. Giving lustig a rest.

In one sentence. I blame sky TV. The money the club's make down there for winning the league is outrageous, even the relegated teams get a huge sum. The team promoted to the premiership in England get a scary about. All figures we can't compete with. Btw I love football being on TV but surely they will have to cap fees for players before too long.
