Heard a rumour McGeady will be possibly heading back to Celtic. Wouldn't mind but it'll stop emerging talent mackay-Steven or Armstrong getting a game plus he will be on big wages I'd rather we used money elsewhere cover at left back and Cb and striker Aka vossen

1.) 29 Jun 2015 21:59:26
I've nothing against the lad but I really hope this doesn't happen. Fair play to him, he got us a mega transfer fee when he left but I personally wouldn't want him back. He may have played in stronger leagues but I don't think his career has progressed since he left.

2.) 29 Jun 2015 23:09:19
If RD is serious about quality over quantity I would take McGeady back and punt Forrest and Stokes to make room for him

3.) 30 Jun 2015 06:28:53
Totally agree cw , can't understand why some Celtic fans don't like him .

4.) 30 Jun 2015 07:52:03
I know he plays a different wing and not everyone will agree but I rate Forrest higher than McGeady.

5.) 30 Jun 2015 08:51:03
If wee James could keep himself fit then he'd be a great asset to Celtic , he did not too bad in the fitness stake near the end of last season , Aidan has lost his way a bit in the last couple of years , get rid of Boeriggter and have wee James and Aidan as the wide players .

6.) 30 Jun 2015 11:35:20
Forrest has not progressed. He flatters to deceive. His final baw and finishing are abysmal IMO. I want him moved on but have my doubts anyone wants him. Never heard if any actual buds for him. As for mcgeadyi would take him, Forrest isn't on the same planet.

James Morrison is type of player we should be going for you'd think he'd jump at the chance if Celtic offered him a deal as he's out of contract. Come up here get some medals then get a move down south in a few years. Reminds me of petrov box to box midfielder. Also if we can get fletcher ciftci or Cole can go.

{Ed007's Note - He's 29 and already playing down south - and he's $hite.}

1.) 15 Jan 2016 10:50:59
No he wouldn't he is very much a follower of the zombie eleven.

2.) 15 Jan 2016 08:51:31
True Ed but playing down South must mean he is quality $hite lol.

{Ed007's Note - You've got to be joking! Allan Hutton and Steven Whittaker play down south and it's a toss up between those two for THE worst footballer in Europe over the last 10 years.}

3.) 15 Jan 2016 14:37:18
I think Alan Hutton edges it ED - because he played in Spain and was as sh*t there too.

{Ed007's Note - I forgot about that. I'll keep that in mind for the next time me and Ed001 are discussing who's the worst out of the two.}

4.) 15 Jan 2016 18:03:29
Both of these players were strongly recommended by Rangers managers, without these statements of ability, neither of these players would have reached the heights they achieved . Both should be charged with imitating professional footballers .

The much publicised problems with our club recently is down to our formation I would change it to 352 back to Martin ONeill era . any1 else got ideas I'd have Gordon, simunovic,mulgrew, Blackett in middle , lustig and armstrong right and left wing backs creating a solid defence if under attack bitton brown and either johansen and commons slightly forward and griffiths and ciftci upfront giving griffiths some support and a target man to play off of. 4231 is getting stagnant and their needs to be a change. our squad is looking thin in attack lawell needs to loosen the purse strings or get to **** enough is enough.

1.) 15 Sep 2015 23:43:03
would put Allan in instead of Johanson

2.) 15 Sep 2015 23:54:25
If we play like that i'd swap lustig with mulgrew and play janko. That lad has great potential and should be given game time!

3.) 16 Sep 2015 01:11:37
Why anyone would still want to include Mulgrew in the first team is beyond me, the guy would be a liability in the development squad never mind the first team.

It's not the formation that is stagnant it's the players within it, Ronny is just trying to move with the times some of the best sides in the world use this formation and it works. What Ronny needs to do is bring the guys in that can play his formation/system suitably and effectively enough and drop guys like Mulgrew and Brown who can't do this, it's clear as day they're not suited to playing Ronny's system so they need to drop out. Add to this they are poor footballers to begin with but when you also add to that they've been here so long things are just going a bit stale now, they've lost their hunger and desire imo as has been evident this season on the park. When you add other poor footballers like Boyata to the mix, alongside GMS, Johansen and Gordon who have been poor and it's a toxic mix and asking for trouble. Ronny's got the players to play football a lot better than we are currently, the attacking areas need work and some new signings but he could still make a more trustworthy winning team out of us domestically if he would just stop pandering to some certain players, those being Brown, Boyata, Johansen, Mulgrew and GMS for starters. If there five guys dropped out we'd see a dramatic improvement in performances and results, without that happening, even if one of them are playing then the system will be flawed and Ronny will have only himself to blame for the outcome. He's fighting for his job and currently there's no way that he can trust these players to save him.

12 Sep 2015 15:30:53
Defensively boyata is a bomb scare honestly need to drop him he's getting away with it and there is cover for him! Silly for penalty y invite the ref to give it and need your cb to attack that cross, time for change in philosophy or manager this 4231 isn't cutting it in Europe or in Scotland. Dire today. 🙈

1.) 12 Sep 2015 16:16:22
I would rather have the next generation squad's defence than that shambles

21 Jun 2014 15:18:57
Any idea on what's happening with craig Gordon and any other tranfer targets?. I know Ronny is probabaly waiting to get a look at the squad before deciding what positions need strengthening but it's Bn quiet on that front hail hail

1.) Hopefully Ronny's told the board he doesn't want an injury prone GK, pay-per-play deal or not. Our first competitive game is 3 wks tomorrow (or Wednesday) but I doubt we'll have anyone in before the WC ends mid July!

Looking at the game on Saturday and recently we have a lack of height and width in the team. Up front stokes is far two deep even though him and griffiths have a decent partnership. Balde still not given a chance as Lennon sticks with his tried and trusted even though some are visibly tired. Matthews and lustig injured are big miss down right same as Forrest as we are far two central without them. Would look at getting in player with height upfront if balde isn't given proper opportunity from start as he can't do much with 5 minute cameos from bench. Think johansen and brown could do with a hand in CM if commons is playing just off the two strikers young Henderson is one for future but not for CL qualification. Craig Gordon is a free agent seems a good shout if big Fraser foster is to move on. Would do all we can to keep van dijk as he is a genuinely gifted composed player we should try build team round him :) HH

1.) Height would be a bonus I think we just need someone up top who is good with their back to goal, a poacher and more efficient finisher. If they've got an added height, fair play. You don't need to be 6'4" to be good with your head though. Agree about CM, I think we need an enforcer in there. McDonald Mariga is a free I think, could be a decent replacement for his brother? As for out wide, yes, we need a creative midfielder in wide attacking positions. Can't stop fantasising that we might make a move for Djuricic. Hopefully Boerrigter can prove a few wrong too, though he's more of a wing forward.

If you'd read my comment you'd see I never said he played AM I'm saying that's were most of his attributes would be suited to play if you were at the game on Saturday you'd know what I was talking about he's never going to get a game playing where Sinclair is as he's playing out his skin. he's either a direct replacement for Sinclair or he could play through the middle in AM.

Whatever self confidence hayes has is slowly but surely getting shouted out of him when he plays left wing back, he should play AM where so much of his game attributes are better served. Yesterday he was nullified and struggled but when he moved into the middle for an attack at pace and had the opportunity to go either direction he looked like the player I thought we were buying from Aberdeen and he slipped a perfect pass for idouard who should have scored. i know we have mcgregor and rogic but similar to Armstrong if you play players out of position they look like bad players if you try and shoehorn them into a position for game time. Plus ntcham needs either bitton or kouassi a ball winning holding midfielder next to him if brown isn't there he strugggles otherwise.

Denayer meant to have knocked us back to go to galatasary, fair play that should be the last time we offer him the chance to play for us if that's the case.

{Ed001's Note - you came in too late for him, he had already given his word to Galatasaray he would go there. He just wasn't going to break a promise.}

If van dijk has indeed signed for 81m and we've got a 8m at least to come signing a decent cb and a back up striker is a priority before 31st in an ideal world a lb as back up but think miller will be used. if dembele is off we better sign a top class replacement aswell. Hopefully it's an interesting and fruitfull few days at paradise.
