Ed, hope you're well. Wanted to ask if you've heard anything about Simunovic - as in, when is he going to be fit?

GoldenBhoy88

{Ed007's Note - The aim was for him to be ready after the international break so he shouldn't be too far away.}

We need to be looking away CRM the EPL, as we know it's the most overpriced and over rated league in the world, so even an average player is going to be too expensive to buy and will blow our wage structure - we have to look at other leagues, scanadanavia, Croatia, etc. If we purchase there we're more likely to get value for money and hopefully we can get use or relationships with EPL to get loan deals, not my first choice but it's sadly the way of the game, they do well and their off we just have to accept that.

Signing a player who fits into the team and the squad is the most important thing, where he comes from is of secondary importance . We have in the past shopped in the so called "cheaper" markets without getting much value for money . So far B R signings from the English market do not appear to be over priced, probably because Brendan knows them well and they are tailor-made to suit positions the fans and more important B R wanted quality.

No one was under any illusion that we had quantity rather than quality when it came to our squad - so in my book when a new coach comes in his key tasks were to identify who we keep, who move on and draw a list of replacements. If BR was a Celtic fan he would already have had a fair idea where our weaknesses where but still we find ourselves with the same gaps in the squad and scrambling about at the last minute trying to strengthen our squad before the CL qualifiers.
We are in a unique position in that what ultimately counts as success or failure is getting into the CL before our own league starts - therefore why do we never have the strongest squad in place to play what are the most important games?

Same story year in year out goldenbhoy88, I've no doubt signings will be made, think (hope not) that it'll be to late though. When will the board ever learn and as u rightly say if Rodgers is a fan then he'd know that we need strengthened and in which area before he took over.

It's just the familiar pattern, we'll look at quality players, then go out of Europe before we sign them, then the target goes to winning the league so we sign SPL standard players. Example being instead of Duffy and Sinclair (who I'm not convinced about) we'll sign John mcginn and Andrew considine!

Getting concerned at the lack of signings - as usual we leave it till the last minute. Sick of reading about every fringe Liverpool player as if BR only looks at players in front of his face at Anfield - usual lazy media, I certainly hope he looks to Europe, so far he's been shrewd let's hope we hear some surprising and pleasing news soon. I honestly do think BR has a couple of big signings in the pipeline but, as usual, these will be hinging on Champs League Qualification.
Apparently Duffy will be signed in time for the next round which plugs an obvious gap - but we really need a creative playmaker and i also think we need a little bit more cover up front incase Griff or Dembele get injured.
the midfield doesn't just need trimmed down it needs freshened up with some real quality - SB and NB just aren't cutting it for me!

There maybe or may not be truth in the rumour that Celtic always wait until their Champions League Qualification has been determined . Quality players whom we hope the club are after., have a right to take their time to wait to see if a vastly superior offer comes their way . It is possible that Celtic can do their best and the player will still wait until the closing days of the window.

Hopefully BR and his coaching team have made decisions concerning the squad and who is leaving and drawing up a shortlist of potentials, should be an interesting couple of weeks ahead. HH.

Fingers crossed. Can't see commons staying (which is good) really need a centre half in.

A centre half in and efe and/ or boyata punted plus one more big/ semi big signing and I'll be a happy man going into the qualifiers/ new season

Exciting times ahead

HH.

BR must cut loose Efe Ambrose as for Forrest just leave him in a toy shop - the two of them have been given numerous chances to show their worth it and fail miserably, and if Efe case he's the twelfth man for the opposition.

Who do Villa think they are? Walk away and see who will meet their valuation for a player that promised much yet never delivered. Surely all the leagues and all countries we can't find a player of similar qualities? He's not that unique.

Unless I've missed something the player himself hasn't come out and requested the move to Celtic or expressed any positive statements so he may well be holding out for what he thinks will be a "better offer" from another club.

Move on to the next target. Don't waste anymore time on Sinclair.

He's also playing in a far more competitive league. And when you factor in that by playing well for us they'll catch the eye of EPL clubs (sad, but we have to play that to attract players)

Hope RD will now start offloading players that haven't cut it, I.e. Balde, Sicknote, Stokes, Forrest etc. we need new blood and youngsters who are hungry and ambitious enough to get into the first team.
Be at Celtic Park tomorrow - the new bhoys are in for a treat when they experience a packed stadium.

Agree about Gordon, how does a GK's dip so badly? It's not as he's carrying an injury, we need a dependable GK and in my view a playmaker to help break down defences, as no names have been offered I doubt we will get either and it will be more defenders/ midfielders we get.

We don't need a striker? LG is on fire but that's a high risk strategy, if he get a knock/ injury it's not as if Cifci or Cole are scoring regularly. If we bring in a striker we can make a real push to get the treble.

GoldenBhoy88

{Ed007's Note - Paying 4 strikers to compete for one position would be a complete waste of money.}

If the rumours are true, I think it's best for the club and player to part ways. There is obviously some issues in the background that are preventing him playing at the level we saw and enjoyed last year. And let's face it £5M isn't a great deal from a club playing in the EPL - we should hopefully drive the fee up a million or two.

As you say Ed, good luck. Hopefully he'll concentrate on the playing side and getting headlines for that. Always thought Hibs were the best option, better chance of first team football and winning something. Wouldn't have thought United were a realistic option, not this season when they will probably be relegated. Now for sick-note and Mulgrew!

Spot on. Last years good players going backwards and the coaching staff can't get a fit squad to pass properly, and as for defence we've all seen the disasters that Helen week in and week out. When we can't see any improvement it's time to get rid of RD, his signings have been terrible and the prospect of him bringing in more duds in Jan - duds that we'll be landed with for the next 4years. Do the right thing and let him coach a team that's at his level.
