This £11m for ibrokes war chest made me think of something that's bothered me for sometime. If I pay an employee £10p/ hr the cost to the business is more like £13p/ hr after factoring in NI/ pension contribution. So my question is when player wages are spoken of e. g 25k p/ Wk is this factored in?

{Ed007's Note - In Scotland I think if you earn over £150,000 p.a gross you pay 45% in tax. That's about my knowledge of it, I invest in Tena and film companies to cover it after taking advice from Jamies ;)

In answer to your question GE, No it's not so the club meet they obligations . In terms of your big stars in the EPL Like Yaya and Sanchez etc they ask for a NETT figure and let the club gross it up so to speak

The EPL have strict "check's" in place that all contributions to HMRC are being met probably in quarterly reports mate given the fiasco's that happened @ Porstmouth and Leeds

Sadly, Our SFA Don't follow that lead and in actual fact Craig Whyte sought administration given the fact that he had stopped making said contributions after the Malmao defeat in the CL

You really have to "tip your hat" lol to Ed following his "advisor" recently the former vice-chairmen @ Rangers Donald Findlay QC said in court "That SDM had sought FISCAL advice from a FAILED solicitor and a PORN STAR! " That's like phoning a brickie to solve your plumbing problem and a bad brickie at that

So it is in fact all about the movies mate lol (Y)

{Ed007's Note - You're just jealous you've not got 'pornstar' on your CV.}

Apparently according to some, if Scott Sinclair had any ambition he would leave Celtic to play in the greatest league in the world. Ambition is the reason he should stay as SS knows he won't get a move to top 4 and if he did his game time might be limited.

He's 28 and effectively run out of time to go to a mid table team and impress for a bigger move as he'll be closer to 30 by time that plan came to fruition. He's at a club where he is welcomed, respected and adored.

A club that has bags full of ambition and the prospect of champions league football. Why would he leave that for the likes of mid table epl fodder where the only thing you can realistically win is 3 points on a Saturday. Can't put a 1-0 win against Burnley on the mantlepiece.

1.) 09 May 2017 13:49:20
He earned his move to City with some fine performances, and was within his right to take that opportunity. It was obviously a step too far for him but hindsight is a fine thing and City could easily be blamed for stalling his career. Miserable spells (basically playing as a full back) at West Brom and Villa followed. He's said how happy he is here and despite an inferior league there are clearly benefits and pleasures Celtic can give a man that your West Broms et al can't.

2.) 09 May 2017 14:12:55
I agree completely!
If anyone does well in Scotland - having hard a hard time in England - according to the gurus in the south, it proves how much better their league is. The same applies when someone does the same thing the other way around. They throw this at us all the time and is boring in the extreme.
Sinclair was too good for Villa but they never utilised him properly - that's the difference. He is saying that he is happy in Scotland and wants to stay at Celtic. I think it's the right thing for him to do as he can shine in Europe as well as domestically, as you say, he is adored up here (by human beings. ) and I'll be delighted if he stays for the rest of his career.

All this rubbish about them being better than us is complete and utter tosh guys.
Do not believe the hype, our record against English opposition in Europe is actually very good, after all how else do we compare apart from games against each other.
Its all very well they going further in Europe year after year but they have the odds stacked in their favour.

We do not get the benefit of being top seeds like they do.
Look at Leicester got to last 8 of CL but got an easier group due to being seeded and they never been in the CL.

We would progress further if we were top seeds every year and the money it brings, as I said we can ONLY compare matches and best to my knowledge Celtic and Rangers have a better record than them last 25 years or so.
God we only beat 2 of them on the way to Seville lol.

Hi, I am back and I hope my new username means everyone will know who I am and won't rely on help of others .
I am disappointed that the cheating club, now dead is mentioned as been like us successful .
Really that is far too generous towards them.

{Ed007's Note - Hey, Chris, it's nice to see you back auld yin (yes)

10.) 10 May 2017 16:14:36
I am in Limbo, I was in hospital about 6- 8 weeks ago for tests including brain scan, but apart from confirming it was approximately in right area, I haven't heard anything since .
Maybe the good weather or maybe the ease Celtic have swatted away other teams, I feel fine .

{Ed007's Note - What happened during the scan to make you go deaf? ;)

I thought in a sell on clause it was a % of the profit from the sale of a player. So if VVD goes for £50m we get 10% of £41m which would be £4.1m? Still a decent chunk o change right enough.

1.) 02 May 2017 23:34:47
He went for nearer £13m I'm sure.

2.) 03 May 2017 09:29:16
Definitely nearer £13m. £3.5m is a tidy wee sum! :)

Last night wasn't sport. It was prostitution. I hope some time in the near future we do break away and form a more competitive euro league and leave the 'top' 4 nations to it.

1.) 15 Sep 2016 08:41:22
Isnt it called Europa League?

2.) 15 Sep 2016 08:44:07
Sorry, was a bit quick on the answer there. The Europa Leauge is supposed to do what you are talking about Gibberengine. But it seems that no one cares about it. May not be the CL money but competitive non the less.

3.) 14 Sep 2016 21:40:03
Thats my train of thought too Gibberengine, let the big 4 isolate themselves to the point were they will get bored with each other, the monies will eventually dwindle because fans are bored too. Nowhere to go after that. The rest of us can form a league where there are transfers capped, wages capped and an equal share of any monies from tv, sponsors etc, i'd love that.

Yes, Pete where is this book? He seemed to have done plenty of research and yet not even a first draft anywhere to be seen.

Did you happen to see if they were flying to Turin? Perhaps a spot of shopping? A designer hand bag and a luxury midfielder.

It really doesn't matter if Rangers are new or old. As far as I'm concerned it's currently still a team from Govan who play in blue at the delapidated Ibrox stadium. It's simply enjoyable to call you sevco etc. It's like picking a scab. Apologies if it scars you. Now off you pop and buy yourself some commas and full stops so those who went to school can understand what you're saying.

And yet here you are on a CELTIC forum. Of course we care about you. That's the nature of a rivalry. Winding you up and rubbing your noses in the steaming pile of failure that continually drips out the arse of your club is just part of it.

Perhaps, but considering its been more than 20 years since Scotland was even considered a half decent footballing nation it means very little.

I wouldn't say average but difficult to see where he fits in with Brown playing well.
