Heard Chris Boyd is giving his opinion in a rag today in the Craig Gordon / Chelsea situation. He reckons if Gordon and Chelsea want a deal to be done Celtic will have no say in the situation. Does he not realise Gordon's got 6 months on a contract with a further years option which Celtic will definitely act on which does give Celtic a say on if he goes or not and how much he'd go for aswell. Gordon will only go if the club get a fee they believe to be his worth and no less.

Garry

It either called "playing to the masses" or "desperation".

We all know what clubs this clown supports so I wouldn't expect any less. Said "clubs" intentionally!

2.) 29 Jan 2017 11:01:41
Why do you even read that rag let a lone kris ( the pie man) boys. He should worry about his own club than trying to spout his urine about our great club.

3.) 29 Jan 2017 11:07:35
who listens to that hun arse?

4.) 29 Jan 2017 11:52:23
PMSL jamesbhoy. Sometimes you've just got to be blunt.

5.) 29 Jan 2017 12:18:25
It's funny how monster munch only gets a mention these days because of his idiotic ramblings in the daily rag.

It's a desperate attempt to cling to fame and as a professional footballer you would expect him to be doing his talking on the pitch.
But with monster munch the "professional footballer" thing seems to be just a title although not surprising is it considering his track record.

6.) 29 Jan 2017 09:43:23
I think that BR underestimated Gordon and that he is shitting himself in case he goes cause that only leaves us with Doris and Fasan wae nae time to get in another that they will spend the rest of the window either looking for a keeper or getting new deal for Gordon sorted out rather than getting in a number 10 which he is really wanting?

7.) 29 Jan 2017 13:12:40
@tick67 - he's just done his talking on the pitch by scoring the fastest SPFL goal ever. And your 2nd least favourite Killie staff member, ' big elbows ' has talked up the young boy Ajer as a star in the making. No agenda here except in your mind.

8.) 29 Jan 2017 13:57:06
UJ your not putting forward the strongest of arguments if I'm being honest.

The fastest goal you say? What's that no4 this season? Your right that is certainly talking to me although we may differ on the message. I can count 5 maybe 6 times alone this season boyd has taken a pop at celtic.

Thank big elbows btw he's really gone up in my estimation. Tell me why would he sing the praise of a player he's just signed on loan hmmmm!

Totally gutted about the injury to KT. He's the brightest prospect to come out of Scotland in many a year. Just hope he makes a full recovery with no long lasting affect 's and gets back to the top of his game.

Ed, any idea what mccarthy's contract situation is at Everton? Thanks.

Garryc

{Ed007's Note - His contract runs till 2020.}

1.) 24 Oct 2016 21:33:40
If we do sign him and I think it is a big if, I hope we are not really disappointed with him
He has been very poor for the R O I.

2.) 24 Oct 2016 22:07:51
Think McCarthy would be a great signing, but don't understand how it would happen, with the even more obscene wages they get down in England than the obscene wages they get up here, if its a loan deal how much of his salary would Celtic have to pay?, on the point about Scott Brown, I've always thought he is one of the best signings that we ever made, think you can put down last years performances because we had Ronnie ( I don't know what I'm doing) as manager.

3.) 25 Oct 2016 10:41:21
I don't agree that McCarthy is good enough to take us to another level. His value us overblown due to the money available in EPL.

I think signing him, even thinking about it to be stupid. He's a good player. He isn't a great player and fir the money in fees and wages would be much more than he contributes.

If that type if money is to be spent there are better players in other country's who would be a step up.

Would really love it if BR played griffiths and dembele tomorrow. It would really throw a spanner in the works as far as how warburton deals with both of them. If they pass the ball about they're back line the way they did in spells up in Inverness recently we're guaranteed to get more than enough chances to score a few goals if we press them high and don't give time on the ball. Roll on tomorrow.

Garryc

1.) 22 Oct 2016 09:07:15
I'd like to see it as well Garry. The problem is they typically play with a forward three sort of shape so we're probably going to have an extra man in midfield/ defence as a precaution. Hopefully we will see the both of them at some point. He had a poor game against but BM and could be jaded but if he's 100% fit, for me, Dembele has to start after his last game against them.

2.) 22 Oct 2016 11:10:51
Jim Tim I think this game is one for Griffiths. Dembele has played a lot of football and Griff is champing at the bit to get on. He scored 40 goals last year in an average side with the way we now lay he can do it again. Also I watched the Daily Record team commenting on the game tomorrow with 2 out of 3 predicting a Rangers win? These are sports journalists or supposed to be. Rangers win? What am I missing. Are these guys so biased they are willing to make themselves look stupid just to defend the Rangers brand? God help us!

3.) 22 Oct 2016 12:59:43
LG will certainly be hungry for it that much is certain Johnny. I wouldn't put it past Dembele to score 40 either mind. There wasn't anybody to step in for LG last season, that certainly would have helped his own tally, but in terms of the team it's good that we have two players who we know can bang them in domestically. As for those 'journalists', that's about as much sense as I would expect out of some of them.

4.) 22 Oct 2016 14:33:53
The editing of that rag is atrocious
No integrity
No balance
No class

Bring them on tomorrow bhoys.

5.) 22 Oct 2016 18:03:25
Jim Tim think you are spot on Dembele is good for 40 goals and to be honest I do rate him above Griff but we sometimes need to give players a wee break even if it's just one game but no complaints if BR starts him. Difficult to judge on Wed but he looked a wee bit short but then again he got very little help. Anyway looking forward to tomorrow. 3-1 to Celtic. There is sure to be a red card for Rangers and a penalty in their favour.

Beaten on the night by a far superior team in my opinion. Biggest disappointment for me apart from obviously the two really poor goals given away by big kolo was the midfield. For me brown apart who I thought done his best were all poor. Really don't see what bitton brings to this team. Thought he was very poor on a big occasion yet again and could easily have been subbed at half time never mind 20 mins into the second half. Need to find someone else to play along side brown in there as bittons not the answer.

Garryc

1.) 20 Oct 2016 08:39:43
Bitton steals a wage at celtic. Seemed to be a serious lack of movement around the team to find space, or they deserved praise for closing down. The passing was the worst I've seen all season but i hope they pick there arses up for the weekend HH.

2.) 20 Oct 2016 08:51:13
DB92, remember last season when brown was getting slaughtered for his performance's and to an extent deserved criticism, when you look at him this season, brown can canter the midfield in most SPFL games but these European games are a huge step up from the domestic game and I'm afraid bitton hasn't got it. Must admit I didn't expect much in Europe this season so I'm not climbing the walls as such with last nights result but moving forward in a European sense we need another midfielder beside brown that's a lot more mobile than bitton, for me bitton is far to static, lazy looking player. I'm sure BR will know this though.

3.) 20 Oct 2016 13:17:53
agree mate and i think him getting pulled off shows BR was thinking it too. Brown was going through a bad spell granted but you knew he would come good or could tell he was struggling.

I just can't stand players who look like they don't care in the style bitton plays.

Unless Rodgers has a quality goalkeeper in mind to bring in I'd be tempted to offer Gordon a better deal than he's currently on. I know not everyone is a fan of his but he's the best we've got at the moment. He's certainly not flawless but I do feel his game has improved from last season. We certainly shouldn't be entertaining £3 million bids for him. Chelsea's are loaded and keepers can play till they're nearly 40.

If the wage was £30/ £35 grand a week kevbhoy I can get that. I'd expect to pay that for a premiership players wage no probs. Just couldn't see the £50 grand mate.

Kevbhoy, do you seriously see Desmond paying James McCarthy £50 grand a week wages? Maybe in the past Desmond has dug deep in the wages department for the likes of Robbie Keane etc, but there's no way he'd pay ( with all due respect to James McCarthy) £50 grand a week. If we're going to fork out that kind of money on a players wage then I'd be looking for someone with a bigger name and more experience than McCarthy.

Think McCarthy deal will happen but can't see us paying £50 grand a week wages for him, that's if he's even on that. Think he'd need to take a drop in wages for us to entertain him.

Definitely agree Ed, Chelsea are loaded. Romans probably got £4 million sitting next to his bed as loose change. If they're desperate to get Gordon pay at least 6/ 7 million or jog on

Garryc

{Ed007's Note - It's now starting to look like Chelsea are getting the message that he's not for sale.}

Couldn't agree more ed, definitely more positives than negatives to be taken from this years European games.

Definitely jimtim, biggest disappointment for me over the 6 games was the performance against the Germans at parkhead. Taking Barcelona aside, I feel there's plenty of positives to take from the two city games and the game in Germany. Was always going to be a massive ask to come out of that group and stay in Europe. Roll on the champions league next season.

Garryc

{Ed007's Note - Nobody really expected to take anything from Barca - and we played well against them at Celtic Park - but nobody expected us to take anything from City and to get 2 draws, regardless of who they played tonight as it was still a £200 million team I seen someone say, is nothing short of fantastic.
And the fact is we're actually taking the game to these teams rather than sitting back and try and spring a counter-attack and snatch scraps.}

For me the Craig Gordon incident is a red card all day long. If that happens at the other end of the pitch we'd all be screaming for a red card. He comes out his box jumping up and going in with his knee. That's twice in the matter of a month or so he's done it. If he's going to come out in situations like that he really needs to speed up and make sure he takes the ball and not the man.

I think it's shocking. A boy his age should just be able to get a ball at his feet and play. Kids especially that young should be more protected and shouldn't be involved in a tug of war between nations or indeed clubs.
