What's everyone's thoughts on this? Personally I don't think it's a great deal for us, paying up Allan's contract and loaning them Hayes who at the moment is our most likely back up LB plus the fee is a big outlay for a player we can sign on a pre contract in January.

They have already spend 10m on Tadic, 7.5m on a 19y/ o from the Belgian 2nd tier and 5m on a midfielder from Utrecht, the Blind and Tadic signings are proven quality but probably go against there singing policy due to their age, they sold klaassen and Sanchez for a combined 60m last year and have just sold Kliuvert for 15m and have assets such as De Ligt and Ziyech who is expected to leave this summer, so I’d say there pretty flush, there signing policy is pretty much the same as ours but they have the luxury of less strident work permit issues so can get youngesters for South America i. e Sanchez for 4.5m, they also pay bigger fees for players while still making money on them when they sell them, not sure about their wage structure but they have been extremely successful in the past at Developing and selling players, with us having signed French Eddy for a record fee with the hope of selling him for a profit a few years down the line it hopefully bodes well for the future that we will stump up the cash for top talent.

Forgive my ignorance of player negotiations but could we not just pay the difference to Scott Allan for the year left on his contract i. e if he's on 9k a week at Celtic and Hibs offer him 4K could we not pay him the 5k difference till June 2019, SA doesn't appear to have a future at Celtic but Hibs clearly rate/ want him so that surely strengthens our hands in the negotiations.
