I read that NL will go in for Hooper (loan) in the next transfer window. I would really like us to make a move for him instead.

Briggs

1.) Why live in the past mate? Hooper has had his time at celtic. Time for someone to get their chance

2.) Dn30 don't know about living in the past. I would agree if he was past it or too old but he's only 26. Mulgrew came back and has done relatively well and hooper is a far more superior player than him. He was our most prolific striker since Larsson and you must admit we have been struggling to find a decent replacement since he left. Guaranteed goals in domestic and euro comps.

3.) Can't see hooper coming, tbh would rather they tried to get Guidetti signed up full time

4.) I agree Chris30 we need to get guidetti signed up on a long term contract really like what I have seen from him so far and we also can't forget he's not even fully fit yet think this boy will be a star for celtic

{Ed007's Note - If we could get Guidetti signed up I would forgive Pedro for blowing the signing of Finnbogason.

5.) Briggs i'm not disagreeing with you. He is a good striker, who done the damage both domestically and in europe. Just think its unfair on likes of guidetti who is performing well so far and the potential to sign guidetti for buttons, is far more viable

6.) I think Hooper has gone backwards since the left to join that massive English Team.

Would be more happier with Guidetti or another if we cannot tie him to a long term deal.

7.) Agree with everyone regarding guidetti. Cracking prospect when he gets fit and settles in. Just thought him and hoops would be great together.

8.) Hooper had his chance to be one of the Bhoys unfortunately his love of money was more important than his football career .
Unlike Larsson, who appreciated his role at Celtic and the support he got on and off the field, Hooper thought he was the star .

9.) Briggs I would also love to see hooper & guidetti in same team like prob most celtic fans but I do agree with most can't see him coming back & in my opinion his scoring record wasn't great in Europe, I loved the guy when he was here but feel he could have stayed a couple more years the same as Waynama I feel Southampton starting to only see this season how good a player he is, in my opinion Hooper playing for a Southampton or an Everton would easily score 15 goals a season in pl but just think he was too quick to jump to Norwich way World Cup on his mind which I hate to say he had no chance of making playing with no disrespect Norwich, agree with a lot celtic fans just now if this is guidetti not fully fit can't wait to see what he's like 100%, Hooper had his time & I thank him but time to move on, Scepovic hat trick tonight lol.

Lazio have now won 8 league games in a row since Celtic beat them at Celtic Park.
It shows what a great achievement it was, beating them home and away, when they are on their best run in years.

2.) 17 Dec 2019 13:52:07
They were losing 1-0 last nite with a minute to go and won 2-1 away too. They're certainly no mugs. Ourselves and cluj done really well to knock out teams from the so called big 4 leagues.

{Ed007's Note - I said when the draw was made I thought we'd be fighting it out for second place with Rennes behind Lazio, I still can't believe Cluj put us out the CL though.}

3.) 17 Dec 2019 17:44:50
Can't remember due to anger from being put out by cluj 🙈 who was the team in the final qualifier? And how have they fared till now?

{Ed007's Note - Slavia Prague finished bottom of their group behind Barca, Dortmund and Inter Milan.}

4.) 17 Dec 2019 17:50:12
That should never have happened ed but u know we'd have got a group of death and got pumped a few times. This el has been as good a run in europe since the mon days. Bring it on I say, loving getting a bit of credibility back in europe.

{Ed007's Note - Who knows what would would've happened but it doesn't change the fact we should have beaten them, I agree about getting some credibility back though through the EL.
I noticed that UEFA - and the big rich clubs have now finally got the CL they wanted with all the Round of 16 teams coming from the Big 5 leagues.}

5.) 17 Dec 2019 20:36:22
They were always going to get their way with that, I wonder was there any dodgy decisions against the "smaller" teams that made it that way. I honestly don't know cos unless celtic are playing in it i've got zero interest.

{Ed007's Note - I'm the same, I still watch the odd German or Spanish game but I couldn't tell you the last time I watched a Pub League game.}

That could be the making of a whole new back 4/ 5 if you include Forster. What a performance. I've been saying for weeks that Boli was just short of confidence and a player was in there. Scott Brown was immense how. many times will. he get written off and come . back with a performance like that?

And in Lennon I apologise 🙏.

An earlier post of our lack of goals from set plays had me thinking of when I used to bet regularly on big vega on first goal and correct score. never let me down.

Varga made me a few quid over a couple seasons back in the day.

That can't be the teddy bears surely?

No way they could have afforded that bus rental.

Re: the Madden debate that's floating about I agree with Timalloy (for once) that we should batter them with goals and leave nothing as a 50/ 50 as we will get nothing from him in those circumstances. He has previous for giving dubious decisions against us. don't let one of them be a result changer!

Well said Ed ??.

Briggs

{Ed007's Note - Celtic got dragged into a circus that should never have been allowed to happen, the Club should have been out there speaking out and telling everyone what the situation actually was, what had Abada and his people told the Club.
Once again the Club/board have no backbone and our CEO Michael Nicholson is as spineless as his doppelganger Stuart out The Big Bang Theory.}

It was a shocking penalty, if you are going down the middle you need to put your laces through it and lift it off the ground. he did neither. If that goes in its a comfortable afternoon.

I don't understand why we haven't tapped into the Dutch market again. I remember when we all realised big virgil was a player, some Dutch coach was interviewed and said that there was plenty more like him if not better! . Something to do with the way the Dutch are coached from a young age in reading the game etc.
