According to Wullie Ballache Celtic approached Stoke about signing Bojan Krkic but he has chosen to stay at Stoke. At least gives us an idea of the type of quality player BR is trying to get in.

I know we are being linked with players every day but if Aberdeen are contemplating selling Jonny Hayes to Wigan for £500,000 I personally think he would be a good signing for Celtic any thoughts fellow Tims.

Alotta Scheidt

1.) 07 Jun 2016 08:15:16
I'd take him and rooney.

2.) 07 Jun 2016 08:30:43
Like Hayes think he's a cracking wee player but worry he could be like GMS and struggle at times playing for a club like ours.

3.) 07 Jun 2016 09:00:18
Not exactly marquee, but agree we need wingers and at that price I would take him.

4.) 07 Jun 2016 09:28:23
Chris30 my dad always says that if celtic are signing players from Scotland that it needs to be players that preform well against us and don't hid.
Hayes always stands out and gives us problems fae what I have seen
GMS on the other hand seemed to disappear against us.

5.) 07 Jun 2016 10:29:07
Good player but I think we should aim for a better quality. No point in more squad signings.

6.) 07 Jun 2016 10:44:48
Not sure Hayes would be a squad signing.
He's better than most the wingers there and with Roberts leaving after this season could be a good buy.
But every signing is a gamble.

7.) 07 Jun 2016 11:53:09
Johnny hayes is rotten. Sorry lads but we have got to be looking at a better standard of player than that. Hope more of the flops like GMS and ambrose get sold quickly too. So brendan con concentrate on a more compact squad.

8.) 07 Jun 2016 12:19:54
500k isn't a bad fee but I think we should cast the net a bit further and spend more on a first team player. At 28 he would need to be able to walk into the team for it to be worthwhile and for me he doesn't. I'd rather give nesbit a chance left of a front 3.

9.) 07 Jun 2016 13:15:52
Not any better than what we have and would just be one more squad player we do not need. I don't think there is one player in Scotland that would walk into our starting 11. Guys like McGinn at Hibs decent enough but would he start next season no. We need to look elsewhere for players. We have been buying squad players for years now it's time to stop this trend and start buying quality over quantity.

10.) 07 Jun 2016 15:50:08
how many players have we scoffed at that have went down England and done really well? Snodgrass was only decent when he left livi and look at him now we need to stop turning our nose up at Scottish players and when we do sign then play them in their natural position (Armstrong comes to mind) then judge if they are good enough or not some will be some won't but this he plays in a league below so he's obviously not good enough is absolute boll**ks.

11.) 07 Jun 2016 17:15:06
I always felt GMS played well against us Kev if maybe Iam wrong mt certainly wouldn't say he hid against us but bud.

12.) 07 Jun 2016 17:38:44
Never said he hid just that he disappeared. Was never worried about him but always thought Armstrong stood out.

13.) 07 Jun 2016 19:45:51
Hid dissappear kind a same thing a me pal.

14.) 07 Jun 2016 19:52:37
Armstrong definitely the stronger out the two for me but needs to be played in the middle. GMS shows wee bits of potential and should be given til January perhaps.

15.) 08 Jun 2016 11:30:39
Player hiding is different from him being ineffective and disappearing from game for me

16.) 08 Jun 2016 22:35:58
Arite then.

05 May 2016 14:46:28
Do not usually post any rumours but was talking to someone who told him that Lawwell was taking up a new post in the U. S of A and that his son would be taking over his role and that MON would be taken on as Director of Football with B Rodgers or Di Matteo being his managerial appointment.

Alotta Scheidt

1.) 05 May 2016 15:12:27
I might be off here but i doubt Lawwell can just appoint his son as successor unless he was the majority shareholder (and he's not) .

2.) 05 May 2016 21:09:04
Apt name.

05 May 2015 01:09:19
Celtic have scouted Brazilian striker Jonathas who plays for Elche in La Liga on several occasions recently. I believe he is on loan from Italian Serie B side Pescara and is the first Elche player to score 10 goals in La Liga for almost 40 years.

Alotta Scheidt

1.) 05 May 2015 05:07:10
Have we learn nothing from the last few years another player from Spain who has been from one club to another this guy could be Scepovic mark 2

On a separate note I hope he starts with Darnell Fisher on Sunday and even Forrest in front of him.Two wingers Forrest and GMS would be nice This would mean leaving out either Johansen or Commons ( I thought Johansen was looking tired recently and who could blame him)

2.) 05 May 2015 17:17:19
Love this time of the year when we get linked to a lot of players hoping that some do and don't have credence makes it more exciting

3.) 08 May 2015 12:22:01
I read about that apparently he was saying he knows about Celtic and their fans and that playing in the Champions League is any players dream. He looks handy scored some good goals and he's 6ft 3'

11 Mar 2015 14:37:08
Celtic linked today with a move for Celta Vigo winger Michael Krohn-Dehli who is out of contract in the summer but is also interesting Malaga and Tottenham.

1.) 12 Mar 2015 11:17:05
Can't see it happening he will be 32 at the start of next season not our transfer policy to sign old players anymore

What a goal from Dembele V England U21s.

Alotta Scheidt

1.) 14 Nov 2016 21:08:28
Goal number 2 what a free kick just put another 5 million on his fee.

2.) 14 Nov 2016 21:14:24
B****** i hope the EPL managers aren't watching, i was hoping he would play sh*** lol. Lawwell will be rubbing his hands together as the big mans transfer fee rises lol.

3.) 14 Nov 2016 21:29:37
50 million.

4.) 14 Nov 2016 22:52:53
was wee Roberts in the England u21 squad tonight?

5.) 14 Nov 2016 23:23:03
No not selected this time.

6.) 15 Nov 2016 01:56:01
Cheers Leeds, there must be some great wingers in that squad then if the wee man isn't picked, in saying that i know he's played for the u19s more recently.

7.) 15 Nov 2016 11:14:58
Jamesbhoy Roberts is struggling to get a game for us so I don't see why your surprised he's not getting played at national level? It's going to be a big challenge for the boy in the second half of the season. There no doubt he has talent but will he be able to show it and command a place in our or any other team on a regular basis?

8.) 15 Nov 2016 11:41:56
When did i say i was surprised? i just asked a simple question was he in the squad? and Leeds answered it for me, he should be in our team every week in front of the dud hair fixer Forrest.

9.) 15 Nov 2016 13:44:07
IMO Roberts should be ahead of Forrest generally, but he hasn't been playing week in week out for us. So when you have the likes of Redmond and Watmore playing regularly in the EPL, it's sort of expected.

10.) 15 Nov 2016 14:22:12
its a ploy by us to lower the wee mans valuation jim lol.

11.) 15 Nov 2016 15:47:21
Sorry to get your knickers in a twist jamesbhoy 😂Your original question was simple but your subsequent reply suggested a degree of surprise with they must have great wingers for him not to be selected. I also hope he gets a run in the team but it's petty to run Forrest down when he clearly hasn't been a dud this season imo.

12.) 15 Nov 2016 17:53:26
Can't think of a great deal of imput from forrest in last few games would like to see him rested and roberts given the nod.

13.) 15 Nov 2016 19:58:45
I wish jamesbhoy mate. My gut feeling right now is that Roberts isn't staying permanently, and BR knows it.

{Ed007's Note - Roberts is not in City's plans and he is available.}

14.) 15 Nov 2016 20:55:51
Would love to see us making Roberts a permanent signing, the wee man has a lot to offer n will go on to be a top player n if available we should get that sorted pronto. Him rogic n sinclair with dembele up front is 1 I love to see starting, so many goals, assists n creativity in that forward line.

15.) 15 Nov 2016 20:31:59
Kept that nugget quiet Edo! What sort of figure are you talking/ thinking? I'm sure I read (might have been on here) that City haven't pay Fulham anywhere near the reported 12m.

{Ed007's Note - I've no idea how much City will be looking for but you're right about the money Fulham have actually received, the reported £11/12m was the total package including a pile of add-ons depending on Paddy's success with City, PL & CL apps etc.
Whether we can make it happen will obviously depend on how much City want for him (I don't foresee them being difficult to deal with and maybe a sell on clause would sweeten the deal) the wages he's looking for and if Rodgers wants him of course, but I do think the player would be happy to stay up here if it's possible.}

16.) 15 Nov 2016 22:16:00
Thanks big man.

{Ed007's Note - No probs, JT (yes)

17.) 16 Nov 2016 00:14:22
I know many of us felt we would be better selecting the team ahead of R D, and you know that might be right .
However I for one haven't lost any faith in Brendan Rodgers who is working with his players nearly every day and up to now he seems happier to pick Forrest before Roberts .
Brendan is going on what he and his coaches have seen this year and is not carrying prejudice from previous seasons.

18.) 16 Nov 2016 10:02:02
Dont think anyone is trying to pick the team per say but we've been here with forrest a few times now.
I'm not saying he's been rubbish the last few games but in comparison to how he started the season he's definitely not maintained that form.

BR doesn't have the luxury of knowing a great deal about the previous seasons with forrest but us fans do.

19.) 16 Nov 2016 19:50:37
It's the same with any position, look at lg, gets injured dembele comes in and lg has to wait. Forrest started well but has went off form, as he has in previous seasons n at present Roberts is the more on form player, certainly since Roberts has saw a bit more game time.
Same as if dembele goes off form or gets injured, it's called competition n is healthy for a squad. As for Rd old bhoy pity he wasn't given the same backing as brendan n with what he had he didn't do to shabbily. your comment regards rd if it was from anyone else u would be all over them but it's not ok to criticise Forrest or state facts, strange.
Hail hail.

20.) 17 Nov 2016 10:54:22
Ed, where are you getting your info re Roberts not being in the plans at City? I intuitively agree with that, but, I intuitively think I'm a good singer. The evidence though is as rare as a treble round paid for by my brother.

Well, maybe not that rare but you get where I'am going.

{Ed007's Note - Someone told me.}

21.) 17 Nov 2016 11:19:04
I have more chance of consistency in winning the lottery than Forrest has in football terms. He has improved, but, the level of dross he was at doesn't suddenly make him a player. He still, at 25 find a good final baw. He still misses too many chances. He fades out of every game. I think he just lacks that awareness and ability to complete any good play he does. More often than not he will beat a player, fly down the wing then shank a rubbish pass over.

It's like Asda home good delivery.

If the driver executes a magnificent three point turn out of the depot, then drives with exquisite precision, avoiding lights, overtaking flawlessly, you wouldn't think of any of that if he dropped off your messages three hooses doon, would you?

That's Forrest.

13 Jul 2016 00:35:46
One of the worst if not the worst performances from a Celtic team I have ever seen. When you consider that every player should be burstin a gut to impress the new manager and trying to ensure that their performances make it impossible for the manager to drop them this performance is totally incomprehensible. In my opinion we knew how they would line up and we would need some creativity in the middle of the park I cannot believe that Scott Allan did not start. Patrick Roberts who almost single handedly made sure we won the league (apart from all LG's goals) did not even feature and the MUPPET that is Efe Ambrose gets a start and to make matters worse James Forrest comes on (he should never again be given the chance to pull on the hoops again IMHO) We should do a swap with Ayr Utd for his brother who is a better player. As for Bitton he obviously thinks he'S a better player than he is, Brown had a nightmare and I think he has to play in central midfield if he has to play at all. Griffiths must be played centrally and Janko looked short of ideas in the forward areas. First and foremost I want our defenders to DEFEND. For me this was a totally unacceptable performance and it doesn't matter if we beat them 7-1 at Celtic Park the result is a part of our history now and the players should be reminded of that in no uncertain terms. To make matters worse Rodgers said they had trained and planned for the game the same as if we were playing Barcelona or Real Madrid well if we play like that we will never get to play Barcelona or R Madrid again. Anyway rant over but any thoughts appreciated one way or another whether you agree or disagree with my humble opinion. HH.

Alotta Scheidt

{Ed007's Note - Patrick Roberts would have been absolutely useless playing on that surface where even their players were struggling to control the ball, how could he have picked up the ball and ran at their defenders on that surface?
Scott Allan? He struggles to play on grass never mind out there tonight, what the hell has he done to warrant starting for Celtic? At least Johansen would have brought some urgency and energy to the side. This is typical Rodgers football btw, pass, pass, pass, look around, pass, pass pass. Get used to it.}

1.) 13 Jul 2016 01:30:17
Lets sort this Scott Allan thing out for once and all, give a decent run of games and see whi's right as to wether he can supply the creativity the teams been lacking for the last two seasons or whether the eds right and he can't play at sll.

{Ed007's Note - I'll be amazed and my gob will be well and truly smacked if Scott Allan is still at Celtic when this window closes. We have better youth players than the nearly 25 year old and done hee haw in his career Scott Allan.}

2.) 13 Jul 2016 02:27:52
Hey, not posted in a while but still using and reading the site from time to time.

I'm basically speechless after that result, honestly have no words. It's nice to see you again Ed007, hope you're keeping well.

{Ed007's Note - I'm good thanks mate and it's nice to hear from you again. Don't be a stranger.}

3.) 13 Jul 2016 10:23:02
@ Ed 007
If Roberts couldn't control the ball and take on defenders how the f&%K was James Forrest expected to do it. We got more out of Roberts in six games last season than we have in six seasons from Forrest (who is more interested in how his hair is sitting than working back or putting in a tackle) as for Allan my point about him is that he is creative and has vision which is something which is completely lacking in our midfield.

{Ed007's Note - I never mentioned James Forrest. Do you watch a lot of lower league football, is there any other player down there that is creative and has vision who could play for Celtic? I'lll say this, there's some amount of Celtic fans watched Hibs matches in the Championship 2 years ago.}
