When, not if, Ange goes where do we go. Promotion from within Kennedy? backward step and cheap option imo or spend.

{Ed007's Note - Where do you think Ange is going to go? He's 58 this year, has total control of one one of the biggest clubs on the planet, winning trophies, managing in the CL etc etc. Imo it would need to be an absolutely fantastic offer from one of the BIG clubs to even get Ange's attention and even then how much time would he be given?
When it comes to replacing Ange I'm hoping that Ange is involved in the process after he steps up to become our DOF.
We are extremely lucky to have Ange but to the same extent Ange is very lucky to be managing Celtic and having the power he has, he wouldn't get that power at a Pub League club and when you see how that league chews up and spits out managers why would you want to go there unless you're part of the merry go round?}

What a pessimistic post, deary me enjoy what we've got, worry about him leaving when the time comes, hopefully never.

Great reply Edd, and really appreciated but given the job he has done at our club I personally think he will be lured by the pub league.

{Ed007's Note - I don't know mate, just to get sacked in 6/12 months? It's took Ange until he he was 56ish to get to a club the size of Celtic in Europe, I jut don't think he's the type of man to jump for money and at his age he could be out of work at 60 if he was struggling at an Everton or Aston Villa, then what back to Oz or Japan with his tail between his legs because that first failure in England would kill his reputation to potential other suitors.
Plus if he goes to these clubs he has DOFs or Sporting directors types to deal with, Ange wouldn't be telling the academy coaches how he wants the kids to train and play, Ange wouldn't have the control over signings that he has at Celtic, he wouldn't have much involvement in any long term planning at these clubs and I think that's what he thrives on.}

Ed

Here here and Ange for DOF.

Ange is a gift from God to us because we’re good people and we’re a gift from God to Ange because he’s a good man.

Our next step is more likely to be backwards than forwards for us when the time comes and I hope it’s a while and I’d trust nobody more than Ange with our next managers appointment. Equally as you allude to if he left it would more likely be a step backwards than forwards for him and he’s a long with fae being a daft man.

So I agree he’s going nowhere in the short to medium term unless it’s to manage the hun$ when VAR breaks him.

{Ed007's Note - ??? if Celtic keep progressing the way we are, showing ambition to be a big club I think we might get a surprise at who would be interested in the manager/coach role. it's a broken record but Lawwell held us back, we need the PSG attitude of we're top dogs, the league can plod along but we're the super power in the Scottish game and it"s up to the rest to try and keep up with us, we're not a meal ticket for clubs that are happy to be stuck in a stupid parochial bubble hanging on the coat tails of a long dead Old Firm ideal.}

I agree and disagree. I don't think the big man would be interested in pretty much all the pub league teams but I also don't expect him to stay beyond maybe 4 seasons. For most parts now there is a shelf life and even if we win 4iar and reach last 16 of CL, I don't think anyone could grudge Ange if a top job came along. Life is about ambition and he no doubt loves it here but I have a wee sneaky feeling he's heading to Manchester once Pep goes. If not there then maybe a top International team. I don't think anyone would argue that he couldn't handle a man City squad and the history of him working in the City group is there.
