What Boli has done is inexcusable and he will be punished accordingly.
I don’t see how the club should be deducted points Etc as punishment for the actions of their players.
If an employee breaks the law outside of his working hours ( which Boli has done ) does the police also go to their employers office and charge them also. The answer would be No.
It would be different if our club let our players onto the field of play without testing them.
That would then be the clubs fault and they couldn’t argue with a punishment because the club would have put everyone in danger.
That is when there should be a chance of a club being deducted points Etc.

Spot on, you can't hold Celtic responsible for what an employee does in there own time,

Buzz bomb difficult to even defend the club in this situation. Surely someone at the club even another team mate knew he was off to Spain. Regardless, I think that it would be difficult to punish the club on 1 players actions as the club denied any knowledge.

What really has annoyed and embarrassed me as a celtic supporter is I work within the NHS, I've seen first hand what C.V. has done to people, I have also lost a family member to the virus. The C.V. has impacted all our lives. Boli will likely make more in a month than many of my colleagues will make in a year and all he had to do was remain in the West Of Scotland.

Put frankly Celtic football club need to take action against him, for me an apology isn't good enough. I don't want to see him in a celtic strip again, I would be 100% behind termination of contract and him taken to court to recoup his £3 million transfer fee. He should have known better and his behaviour will encourage others to follow, return from Spain of no sanctions are in place then everyone else can get back to life straight after it.

I know this sounds harsh but I expect more from our players and club.

That's not true. where I work we have had 2 instances where staff have been censored for behaviour away from work that involved company reputational damage . and so there can be ( I believe) occasions where one can be dragged over the coals Col.

I get what you are saying Lubo and you are correct because I’ve seen colleagues getting the sack after mental works nights out. That’s why I stopped going to them😂
What your writing about is an Internal investigation, but that’s not what I’m meaning.
The police have charged Boli and fined him £480 but they are not also going to fine the club because Boli works for Celtic.

From what been said club had no knowledge that Bolingoli went to Spain, therefore club cannot be held responsible for his actions. He has obviously thought he has been discreet effectively flouting rules and hoped nobody would notice. There's no way had club would of let him anywhere near squad if they did.

A few legal experts saying he should be sacked and pursued through courts for breach of contract. What has he actually breached? Highly unlikely he has anything in his contract covering an incident like this.

Buzz Bomb, if an employee of a business was breaking laws during working hours then YES the company would also be prosecuted.

Personally don’t think clubs should be punished but personally would put the players in question back into furlough if they have to self isolate and also fine them 2 weeks wages. Maybe then they would act more responsibly.
