I am as frustrated as anyone about the way Lawwell and the board are running things but there seems to be a panic setting in among our support which could do more damage to our chances than anything our opponents can inflict.
2 weeks ago all the talk was about the amazing football we were playing, we had just put 7 past St Johnstone, before that we had put 5 past Nomme Kalju, and that was before we scored 5 at Motherwell last week.
I am not in any way downplaying the Cluj result but in my opinion it was mostly down to the team selection and tactics of the manager which cost us that game, and even allowing for those decisions we still scored 3 goals on the night.
A lot of people seem to be in a panic about Sevco, but don't forget that they were held to a draw in Luxembourg and needed a last minute goal to win at Kilmarnock, they're not Barcelona.
From my reading of the results so far, although we need a couple of players at the back, If Lennon plays the players in their correct positions and doesn't try to be clever with the tactics, we are a team that should easily be able to dominate this league.
We shouldn't panic every time Sevco win a match or bring in a player, we cannot influence that.
We have won three trebles in a row for a reason and that is because we have the best players in Scotland, if the manager stops trying to be clever and let the players do what they're good at then I don't think we will go far wrong, then we can look at what we need to get through the Champions league qualifiers.

Hard to argue with that Gerry, a LB and a RB and I think we need to have a look at the CDM, But Ajer is turning into a top top player who is comfortable in the tackle and clearly carrying the ball forward. That was his initial natural position and I for one would like to see him get a wee chance there . If we got another RB in Hemed can cover both RB and CH in the same way Lustig could

Them that take the training must see that in Ajer surely? They converted Wanyama from a CH to a CDM (Y)

I think panic is good at this stage because there is still time to rectify the damage.
Although we scored 12 goals, most fans could still see we were weak in a couple of positions.
If we had beaten Cluj and then got beat off Slavia, it would have only papered over the cracks and given the club less time to fix this mess.

Wanyama was a central defender? Never knew that (N)

Lennon has no excuses he is solely to blame for that performance. Squad is good enough to have won game comfortably against a mediocre lower league side. It was his bad tactical decisions that took us to ET and crucially saw us nose dive out CL.

Sooner he is gone the better.

Wanyama wasn't a central defender. His favourate position was centre mid though Lennon wanted him to be a cb but he quickly realised it wasn't going to work out.

Deary me, When we scouted Wanyama on loan at Helsingborg he played CH we thought we COULLD make him into a CDM. At roughly the same time ( a year! ) We bought Efe who was a CDM

When Wanyama debuted for Celtic he debuted as a CH not his FAVOURED CDM just because that became HIS favoured position = and means he started out as a CH!

Then Efe who also could play wing back for his country had to be developed into a CH and in all reality was NEVER a CH! (Y)

It's not so much a panic as dread because we have seen these signs before (more than once) , of self-inflicted damage stemming from complacency, mistakes and stubbornness.
The Board see a full trophy room and see no need for improvement.
The manager has a list of transfer targets, which we fail to sign for one reason or another and the list is whittled down in quality and quantity, until we are scrambling around on the last day trying to beg steal or borrow a bargain or loan signing; - while a prize asset is annually stripped and sold for mega-bucks.
We now struggle to meet the challenge of CL qualification, because of a mixture of poor preparation personnel wise and timing, failing to bring in the quality early enough to make an impact.
While trying to negotiate a tough schedule of games domestic and European games before players are anywhere near their best.
Then we have the recurring human error, like the managers team selection, players mistakes/ hand-ball in the box and possibly underestimating a tricky opponent because of an away 1-1 draw?

He didn't play for the club in Belgium at CH. Lennon wanted to make him one. Like they managed to do Ajer.
