Can someone please try and tell me how one of the best young left backs and fullbacks in the world is only valued at 25 million? despite doing an invincible season as a teenager, a triple treble, captained his country, voted in the UCL team of the group stage, standout player in our European games. X3 SFWA YPOTY, X3 Celtic YPOTY, X3 PFA YPOTY.

Because he plays in Scotland.
End of they day whether we like it or not that's going to cap what you can get for a player.

That's an irrefutable case for a real transfer fee, El Chris. Nice job.

Standout player in Europe? Disagree as let down by many poor players when we play in Europe. He is one of our best but unfortunately we get outplayed on the big stage too much.

He plays in Scotland where there is no real test so 25 million would be great business. Hope for his career he moves soon and kicks on to the next level.

For the same reason we sold Dembele, VVD and Wanyama for a fraction of their apparent true-value. Celtic do not try to counter-act the fallacy of SPL players being inferior, by protecting them with the relevant buy-out clause in comparison with market value of the day; - even though big clubs think they will have no problem adapting to their level or standard of league.
Just look at the huge profits Southampton made at our expense laughing all the way to the bank, while we doth our cap.

The problem is he plays in Scotland. We all know if and when KT moves after 6 months to a year his price will rocket. Look at Maddison for example the guy played on loan at Aberdeen and goes back to EPL with Leicester and is now valued at 60 million. It's purely down to playing in the EPL.

Once a boy buy out clause means nothing. We could put a 50 million buy out clause in but that doesn't mean teams will pay it. He could easily have that clause and still go for 25 million.

OAB it's the exact same thing that we do to teams. We bought Wanyama for £800k and van Dijk for about £2M.

All of this doesn't answer the question of why we are even thinking of selling Tierney or any other first team player on long contract, this playing in Scotland affects his value is rubbish, it only affects his value if Celtic are desperate to sell,

Because if rumours are true and I've heard it several different places now, teireny wants to go aindoh.

The quietness comeing from tierney himself says it all hearing he’s getting a package worth twenty million would sway a lot of people but I was adamant he was hear for the ten I also wonder if Rodgers knows something others don’t or why have Leicester not been interested in Kieran?

Tierney and Lennon don't go the end. Would you be happy going into work each day taking instructions from someone you don't get on with. All the time you have another big company offering you megabucks and progression of your development. Further more you can leave the place you love a 25million leaving gift. .
