And then the next one, then the one after that. Then it's the end of August and we sign our 14th choice target on loan. "We ran out of time, we'll strengthen in January honest we mean it this time". Time to get the finger out and pay what it takes to get our priority targets in. I'm sure he's not asking for 50k a week.

Had a look on-line and the dirty DR is running the story that the players representatives are not happy with the terms of the deal.
Turnbull, himself is on holiday and there's not a peep from him.
Celtic say the contract is comparable with his age and experience within the clubs wage structure, but the agents are apparently touting him down south for a better deal.
With Celtic standing firm, it's surely up to the player to decide; however, you never know what influence and allegiance the agent has?

Im with the board on this one, greed will see him end his career trophyless. he's played half a season with motherwell, no way can he command mega bucks. Chase yersel pal.

Isleofgreen how do you know what he's asking for?
If his agent asking for more than the likes of Ajer then the club should tell him to do one.

This is getting beyond a joke. Too many people are being taken in by what media says. It's called negotiations for a reason and today if I'm correct is first day talks have begun.

I guarantee you that a good few members of our squad knocked back first contract offer and then signed.

When deal is done it will be right for both player and club.

Ignore last post, just realised it's a take it or leave it offer. Put my foot in it there lol.

If at 19 he is motivated by money and not by winning trophies and improving himself as a player then he isn't the type of player I would want playing for us. Enjoy league one in england.

Celtic are good at rewarding our players with improved contracts but they have to prove themselves first.
I would offer a 19 year old from Motherwell a healthy £12k a week and if he can show he can handle the pressure and is good enough to play for our club, I am sure Lawwell would offer him an improved contract 18 months from now, which he has done with the majority of our better players.
If he is looking for more than 12k a week then we move on but if we are offering less than 5 figures a week then we need to get the finger out.
Time will tell but I trust Lawwell.

Walk away from it right now! Honest to go surely we sounded them out about what they wanted before agreeing a fee!

Right this is how it’s going to play out the player has been advised hold off the now we know what’s on the table from Celtic. Motherwell will sell at this price now Celtic put their hat in the ring. Clubs down south now know how much to pay Motherwell and after the day they will know how much ch to pay the player. It may not just come down to that but that will be the main part. What might sway his decision is game time if Barnsley offer same deal but 1st team action every week that could do it. But it’s like everyone one else how much is enough and it 19 years old how much you listen to and have been advised? Only time will tell. It just leaves a sourer tastes in the mouth.

Really can't fault the club at all here. They did what most of us wanted - in trying to do business early and attract young talent.
The asking price was accepted by the club - so it's down to him.
Whether his 'advisor' wants him to sign for Celtic or not.
Don't know the lad at all or where his allegiance or that of his agent may lie, but we will never be held to ransom over a player who shows great potential, but is totally untested at our level of class and expectation and the pressures that come with the jersey.

Turnbull agents are the same as Scott Armstrong and we had bother negotiating with them as well.

Celtic have made a "magnificent offer" which the agent/ player has rejected.
I hope Celtic give him a couple of days to change his mind, in a take it or leave it offer. Remember the spanish keeper Broto, when Martin Oneil offered him a 2 year deal which he stalled on because he wanted more money and after time Martin withdrew the offer, which the player said he would now accept, but Martin replied he was too late and the player was released. Things like this tells you more about a players character.

another one who is using the fact Celtic have made an offer as a leverage for a move down south.
Early doors on the window so time is on HIS side and with the money Championship and EPL teams can offer then it's where he wants to be.
We offered her rejected we move on.

Like I said above withdraw the offer immediately! This is a kid and I mean kid who’s played 1 season with the mighty well having the audacity to think he can use us as some sort of bargaining chip! Move on and move on quickly!

12k are you kidding. 6k at the most. He's Scotland u21 international Morgan is on about 6 and is a full international.

Markom, we can't pay a £ 3m transfer fee and put him on 6k a week, when there will be other players in the first team squad on 3x that. Maybe Morgan is on 6k a week because we got him for nothing or next to nothing and he had never played in the top league.

imo the agents have used celtic and the mcginn situation and i've just read that Southampton are interested in him and its the same agents as Armstrong.
