ED007 I read your comments yesterday about appointing Neil Lennon and how disillusioned you seem to be. It also goes without saying I hope you are still the Celtic editor come August.

I just wanted to put this to you and all our other posters.
I probably have a few years on most on here supporting Celtic and have seen it all. The Lisbon Lion years, 9 in a row, the Billy McNeil centenerary double year. Then the O, Neill years, wee Strachan and Lennon first time "bringing back the thunder" to modern day and our History makers. On the flip side I, as a on older Celtic fan, had to endure many many poor Celtic teams and even worse managers, Mowbray, Barnes, Macari etc which makes our current success so much sweeter. I have learned to enjoy and savour the moment of ultimate dominance and success of Celtic Football Club.
Now to put the defence for Lennon.
I too was doubtful of his appointment but since he came back he has won me over. Here is why.
He inherited a deflated team when Rodgers left but he picked them up and got them going again.
ED007, yourself and others have pointed to his training regime being poor, and saying Rodgers had them training 7 days a week whereas Lennon has given players time off. I think you are forgetting most of these players have played 3 long long seasons with international matches thrown in and long european journeys in different time zones to contend with, allied to our horrendous injury list this season.
Lennon HAD to give players extra days off simply to rest and recuperate.
Lennon has not tried to change too much as the goal was the Treble Treble, which he has now achieved. Also teams were beginning to suss out Rodgers tactics, especially playing it out from the back, be honest how many goals have we conceded BECAUSE of Rodgers tactics. Lennon has spoken of changing this next season, which I for one welcome.
I also have no qualms about the players diet issues as I have faith in our players being totally professional. Lennon realises this as well.
I am prepared to wait and judge Lennon on his signings and his style of football next season. I am confident we will see a more attacking team domestically with 2 upfront, and less flaffing about at the back and adapted for europe.
We are ALL CELTIC hail hail.

{Ed007's Note - Players get what's called recovery days where they report to the sports science department and do gentle light exercise and their personal program to keep in peak condition, that doesn't mean days off to go on the pish in Dublin.
Lennon's has came in and changed the training & sports science regime, he's changed the formation to 4-3-3, he's blamed the fans and players for HIS mistakes and he was only here as caretaker, we'll be back to James Forrest not being able to play 4 games in a row and Rogic blowing out his @rse after 60 mins before we're out the CL.
I have no doubt Lennon will change things next season, I also have no doubt it will be for the worse and his wee fanboys will still back him because 'he's one of our own'.
I'm just hoping he's given up threatening young women with knives.}

One thing for sure is Rogic will always be blowing out his @rse after 60 mins no matter how fit he is. Maybe pie, beans and Coca Cola will see him being replaced with a proper No 10.

Wow, just Wow, that is some accusation to make ED007. I do not think a public forum like this is the place to air these things. I told you in an earlier post that my concerns with Lennon were that he was a very old fashioned coach with old fashioned ideas which perhaps were not compatible with modern attitudes, but this is taking it to a totally different level.

{Ed007's Note - It's not an accusation it's fact that was all over the papers at the time. Lennon threatened a 24-year old woman "that someone could put a knife to her throat" after she refused his £10,000 offer to keep quiet about his extra marital shenanigans.
Classy behaviour from a Celtic manager eh? And that's only the tip of the iceberg, I could list numerous incidents over the years including high court "super injunctions" (D-Notices) he's taken out to stop his scumbaggery becoming public knowledge.
Just imagine the faux outrage from the Celtic family if TRIFC had appointed a manager that had done that to a young woman?}

Was slipoy no involved with some heavy gangsters in Liverpool when he was Liverpool captain.

{Ed007's Note - It could have been worse, he could have been friends with Lennon.}

Spot on ed007, he should be no where near parkhead, I have been a fan for over 45 years and this has got me really pissed off.
I normally support any manager we appoint but I can't this time.

Ed, so you believe everything you read in the papers?

I know nothing about the incident you refer to but I've seen a lot in my time, working in the slums of both hemispheres.

Unless you witness an event with your own eyes, i wouldn't go hanging on what you read as fact.

{Ed007's Note - If the story is false why did he apologise, why did he try through the courts and stop the story coming out instead of suing the abundance of newspapers that carried the story. He only managed to hold onto the Bolton job with the skin of his teeth after they held an investigation where he admitted it.
I can't believe there's Celtic supporters making excuses for someone threatening a woman, I mean the Celtic family are usually against things like the abuse of women, strange 😏 I'm sure I've heard plenty of them chastise Gazza over the years and more recently Jon Flanagan for their behaviour towards women.}

I never heard of this story, Ed, why didn't you mention it before?, I mean before Brendan left.

{Ed007's Note - Why would I mention it when it had nothing to do with Celtic or Brendan Rodgers? I don't know how people are surprised by this as it was all over the media at the time after his application for yet another super-injunction was rejected.}

Not a fan Ed? It was a blow to me to watch the sneaky way Lawell announced Neil's appointment. We must have some kind of ex political PR officer with experience in when to bury bad news. Saying that, I always said that a new manager, whoever he is, should get a chance to shine. We can only hope that since he left Celtic last, he's gained more experience in keeping player's fit, interacting with them and keeping himself out the papers. Let's not beat around the bush here. Our 'impartial' media are hurting badly at the moment, even more so next year. There is going to be a Tsunami of guff printed and broadcast about our Club and it's employees. Celtic need to start getting tough with these hacks. A gentle warning first about their poisonous ramblings then a ban. Ban them from Celtic Park and Lennoxtown. And before you say that's sevco behaviour, so what? Sick of entertaining these hack journalists who make up any old rubbish to sell their rancid rags. Lennon, no way my first choice, in fact he's pretty low down my list but he deserves some time to show us what he can do.
Was sorry to hear you're pretty pissed off with the whole Rumours thing. Nobody but you and the other Ed's know what it's like to have to deal with a site like this which is growing all the time. I can imagine it's become a bit of a monster for you and if I understand things, you devote a huge amount of your personal time to the site with not much reward. I also understand that without the Ed's the site would soon get clogged with boring posts, aggressive posts and a constant back and forth between us and the Sevco Rumours page.
Hope you give it a good thought Ed and never forget that your personal health is the most important thing in the world. Hope you don't chuck it in Ed but if you've had enough, you've had enough. Just make sure you let us all know so we can give you the send off you deserve!
