Moyes is by no means my first choice as our new manager. However, I’m surprised that his potential appointment is being greeted with so much negativity.

I’m in no doubt that the main reason for this is that too many of our supporters are convinced that we actually have a chance of getting Mourinho, Benitez or AVB. Can you really picture any of these guys rocking up to Dingwall on a Wednesday night with a team full of £2-3m summer signings? No chance.

Do I think Moyes would blow us away with free flowing football like in Rodgers’ first season (his final 18-20 months were poor) ? No

Do I think he’d make us more competitive in Europe? Maybe

Do I think he’d lead us to 9 and 10 in a row? Definitely.

Don’t forget this is a man who was handpicked by one of the greatest manager’s ever to manage the biggest team in the world not so long ago.

To think he’d fail in Scotland is laughable.

He was on a hiding to nothing following fergie and in relative terms didn't spend much compared to what van gal and Jose spent he then made 2 bad choices going to Spain and serial failures West ham.

I have multiple reasons I don't want him near our great club, here's a few
1) He hasn't done a thing in the game- Managed Preston -mediocrity
Managed Everton -mediocrity
Every job he's had since has been disasterous.
2) He is one of the most boring people to listen to-zero charisma, good managers need to be good talkers.
3) The main reason is he has I believe had the chance to come to us when he was in demand and ruled himself out pretty quickly.

Get him tae f***. Just no no no
ABM- Anyone but Moyes.

It has nothing to do with the likes of AVB or jose.
It's to do with the fact he is chronic. He's never achieved a thing and it a plod along manager at best.

I have been quite vocal about not thinking Lennon is the man for job but I'd take him over moyes any day.

Not my first choice, was good at Everton but that's it.

In fairness though Man Utd was a sinking ship before he took over. If they were still winning titles, Fergie would still be in charge.

Rodgers has never won anything outside of Scotland either though kev.

Exactly Kev, I'm not deluded enough to think we are going to get some of the names being mentioned but Davie Moyes! come on we can do better than that. This is a guy who's desperate for a job because nobody wants him. I smelt a rat weeks ago when he turned up at the Kilmarnock game but tried to convince myself he was going to get the Scotland job or he was up to pay his respects to Cesar. As I said earlier once you have turned down the chance to come to our great club you don't get another.

The mangers position will be sorted next week one way or the other thank god, then the speculation stops and whoever gets the gig wether it’s Lennon, moyes, Benitez, mourhino, the Pope, we need to get 100% behind them. Next season is massive, everything that’s been won and done for the past 8 years has led us to the brink of 9 in a row. I grew up with the stories of the lions doing it and never in my wildest dreams thought I’d see a Celtic team achieve it and possibly better it. Whoever the next manager is we must give him our full support, pull together as one and build for next season. We’ve a huge job on our hands in terms of players leaving and quality being brought in. The manager ( whoever he may be) needs to fully focus on that, not wasting his time trying to unite the fans who are divided on who got the job and are happy/ unhappy with it. As long as a manager is announced pretty much straight away after Saturdays final and gets to work immediately on signings in key areas with quality I’ll be happy, after all these champions league qualifiers don’t half come around quick style.

He never won anything in England but then again neither did Brendan Rodgers.

He's not an exciting name, probably a better manager than he gets credit for but he will be more defensive compared to Rodgers which may be a good thing.
