With all this press talk about Leicester and Brendan Rodgers, id like Celtic as a club and Brendan to come out today and put this to bed. Tell Leicester Brendan is going nowhere or even Brendan to come out and say " listen I'm flattered being linked to the job but whilst there's been no contact between the clubs, i wouldn't be interested anyway, I'm more than happy where I am and totally focused on winning the title again this season". Something along those lines puts this to bed and we move on. According to sly, Martinez has done something similar and ruled him myself out.

That’s not going to happen though is it. He’s off. Maybe not now, but definitely the Summer. I’m just shocked that so many fans are surprised that he’d want to leave after what happened in the transfer window last Summer. The McGinn shambles was the last straw. I’m surprised he didn’t walk then.

With the huge number of players out of contract/ end of loan at the end of the season I wouldn't be surprised if BR has asked for assurances on how much he's got to rebuild the squad. If the figure doesn't fill him with hope he might not fancy the challenge of rebuilding it on a shoestring budget. Which would then look like Clarke would be the ideal man to take over. He won't leave unless there's a bigger job for him to walk in to. I can't see him getting any of the top 5 clubs purely down to his poor record in Europe.

I’m not so sure he’ll even leave in the summer mate. Kennedy came out at the weekend saying rodgers is already working on next season. I do get anything can happen, that’s why I’d like the club to come out in no uncertain terms and declare what Brendan’s intentions are and draw a line under this situation and chase the press onto another story letting us concentrate on getting this title over the line.

bravetart, RE your point about rebuilding due to loans and players out of contract.

would you guys trust rodgers with the money needed to rebuild? undoubtedly he is a good man manager but his record when it come to buying players is atrocious ( and not only at celtic ) . i don't think PL will back him as he knows this

add in the points about not being able to advance in europe and won everything he has in domestic then i think he will walk away

as for Clarke, i think he is too thin skinned for the job if his recent behaviour is anything to go by. can you imagine him taking the abuse lennon got, the bullets etc? i thin khe would be a bad choice.

Looks like he's off just now.
