Unfortunately our style of play under BR is never going to cut it in these high level games. We just can't keep the ball well enough against top players that press and move at the speed they do. Once we inevitably lose it, it is panic stations.

Over the years those big results at Parkhead have come from getting the ball from back to front quick, long ball if necessary, getting the crowd roaring and willing them on. It is too slow and cumbersome against top opposition.

Totally agree - Rodgers record is Europe is abysmal.

That's a fair critique and I agree but we should still be able to take the game to teams better than what we demonstrated there. Too many not turning up again. Some will be scapegoats, a couple of usual suspects will get of without a mention and some will have not had much to work with tonight but they failed to rise to the occassion as a unit and without sounding too dramatic - I'm not sure anybody got a pass mark tonight. Manager included.

I've already stated on here that domestic dominance is much more important for me and I cannot fault the team so far this year; but I have got to admit disappointment at another home defeat - especially when we were in such good form beforehand.

However, the same stupid mistakes have cost us in several European games and it's not just one or two misplaced passes or careless lapses and there were several culprits - even the captain.

The bottom line must be that players can't be expected to learn from mistakes if the boss doesn't seem to either (in Europe) .
Under MON, Strachan and Lennon (who had their faults) we punched well above our weight in Europe - especially at Celtic Park and the players took the game to the opposition and got the crowd roaring, stadium rocking and took some big scalps .

This fifty three passes in our own half stuff, might keep possession (until a daft error) - but we created virtually zero in attack, lost the midfield and gave them the initiative.

Anyway; I miss the European highs, but they were a bonus; the most important thing is getting back to winning ways at Killie and go on from there for the trophies, the glory and the history.

We need the benkovics Tierneys Rogics Ntchams and dare I say it dembeles for these games. We were losing these games with those guys plus Roberts and Armstrong the team is weaker compared to the past where as the opposition is not. Need to focus on the domestic games for now as these matches are currently beyond us.

I think the manager has earned or deserved the courtesy of us all reserving judgement until he can field 4 first team defenders. Really think its as simple as this. Its like asking the bartender to fix you a cocktail with no ice, or glasses. Can't get to the potency. And I think we have some of that. Midfield may need some different instructions tho.

Would have gave Forrest passmarks. He had the beating of his man. We just didn’t get the ball to him often enough. Which isn’t surprising given the majority of our passes were from Boyata to Jozo and back again!

@CC spot on mate you absolutely nailed it. The thing is BR has stated he won’t change the style of play regardless who the opposition is. Another scary thing is we have not had mproved one bit under BR in Europe.

Awful performance can't keep possession and never on the front foot brown only player ad have given pass marks to for his passion the rest were terrible.
