For the 2nd time, I'm not wetting my panties about this transfer window just yet because there are still a few weeks to go however our early intentions do little to soothe an aching heart.
I hope our club have learned the lesson about leaving things until the last minute and appreciate the benefits of acting quickly on targets that have been identified a few months beforehand.
HH.

{Ed007's Note - Like every transfer window the players and agents hold the power and play the long game, what if players want to wait and see what other offers are available as the window winds down? Would Lawwell or Rodgers take the blame for a player that dithered until he got offered a better financial deal than ours late in the window?
How can Rodger plan for the future when our captain is pissing about with contract negotiations? Or will Brown's departure be blamed on Rodgers and questions asked why he didn't bring in James McCarthy to replace him?

Ed I think Brown has made his mind up by his actions even talking to another club. I would be surprised if Brown is at club next season.

{Ed007's Note - So would I be now, Phil. I think Brown himself knows his best days are behind him and he's now struggling playing at this level.}

So we are signing James McCarthy Ed.

ROLF, couldn't help myself mate.

{Ed007's Note - That'll depend on whether a deal can be done with Everton but McCarthy would definitely be up for it.}

Ed I hear you, I absolutely do. You are often a voice of reason and I know you hate 'over-enthusiastic' criticism of our club at different levels. I do too.
I feel the momentum has swung towards the scummy side of Glasgow and they are real challengers this season. Am I listening to too much of the media? Maybe I am.
Am I confident about the collective ability of our first team for the rest of this season? No I'm not, and I don't imagine I'm alone.
I do believe that the lack of squad strength over the last few years could bite us on the arse. With the exception of Edouard we have spent very little on players that have made a positive impact but we have certainly spent a lot on players who have been pretty useless. I know that not every transfer can be an immediate 100% success but our recruitment of lower level players simply hasn't paid off. HH.

{Ed007's Note - My problem is that we don't need any more lower-level (sqaud) players, we've got an abundance of players that can come in and do a turn in certain games. It's 4-5 first team starters we need brought in over the next 2 windows and loans just ain't going to cut it.
The one and ONLY reason I could see for loans is that the player we want isn't available this window, maybe their contract is up in the summer. The loan of Burke is baffling to me.}

Bob the cat .
I am pleased to tell you, that there is no pendulum swung towards Ibrox or anywhere else . Rangers 2012 won't finish in the top 2 this season . Any club who are signing two way past their best players nearer 40 than 30!. One a retired goal scorer working 15 minutes every 3 weeks and the other doing less hours but signed to keep the loyalist paramilitaries among their support happy .
The loss on the 29th was a one - off, many things that will be difficult to repeat were used against us .
No matter who we sign, we will be a lot better than that lot.
