We all seem to agree that Benkovic is out of our reach as a permanent signing. Just wondering though what people think our reach would have to be if we were to secure him?

He cost them about 12 million in the summer so I'd assume they'd want to recoup that at the very least.
Wages could also be an issue though.

Going by previous reports we could have signed him for anything between £6m and £10m in the past couple of seasons but never pulled the trigger.

I heard that Celtic have already offered Boyata to Leicester plus cash for Benkovic coming to us.
Don't know how true this is. Suppose we'll have to wait and see.

We were strongly linked to him before we signed the cheaper simonovic . the same window we were linked to another Croatian centre half lescovic . simonovic was also cheaper than him. also linked with a Croatian goalie kalanic who ended up at gent (I think) seem to remember he was a giant 6ft 7 or so.
