Ed trying to keep a level head on what was a disappointing night but not really unexpected. Just wanted your opinion on where tonight leaves us with regards to the rest of the transfer window? Does tonights result give the board the opportunity to deny us signings due to lack of CL revenue (not that having that revenue in previous years has led to major signings) Also could this lead to the potential sales of Dembele, Ntcham, Tierney etc to make up the finances? Clubs overseas will now know we don't have CL football this year and will come circling.

{Ed007's Note - There'll be signings made before the window closes simply because there has to be.I said I never expected any CBs to come in before 1 or 2 left and once Boyata leaves - I expect Compper's contract to be mutually terminated - they' need replaced, we know the manager wanted McGinn so there will need to be A N Other signed to play in there and the same with a replacement for Roberts to fight Forrest for his start.
In the coming weeks the papers and internet will be full of stories about team's chasing our 'big name' players but I'd be really surprised if any of them are sold unless they ask to leave.}

With us (potentially) going into the EL groups it gives us a chance to grow into the tournament and hopefully get a mentality of winning games in Europe rather than 6 games of getting battered and dropping into EL with shaken confidence. Every cloud and all that I suppose but this really needs to be a wake up call.

{Ed007's Note - Some decent teams in it too, Kev I put a list of some of them on another thread. Get a few new faces in and everyone fit and firing on all cylinders and we could get a wee run going. The money's neither here nor there for me - I'm not saying I don't enjoy seeing Celtic earn it btw - but when it's all said and done it's still seeing Celtic playing European football and I've always loved that.}

If we can get £10m for Boyata then surely £5-6m will be spent at least. We would still have made a profit in the window. No doubt at least 1 loan signing, other than Arzani, will come in too. wouldn't mind trying to sign Kyle Walker-Peters from Spurs for a season. Lustig is just about done.

Why should we buy now it's too late P. Bonner said that he would be surprised if we made any significant signing now it's too late but I hope he's wrong.

Never too late. We still have a treble to defend and if we want to juggle that with Europa League football we need a stronger squad than we have at present. That tie has proven that at present we can't cope with injuries and suspensions.

Nail on the head there ed.
All you hear from football fans now a days is about money money money. When did that become so much more important than trophies?

No chance we’ll get £10mil for Boyata now lol, clubs know he’s spat the dummy, £5mil hopefully.
Needs punting regardless of money and new CB in, ideally 2 but won’t happen.
Tonight wasn’t a surprise, sore but not a surprise.
Just unfortunate how the fans will suffer as the board count it as a loss and then live by that after millions banked.
A good couple of ties in the europa to be had if we make the groups, that’s our level and should be fun, get use out they dear lights too ☺️.

BBJ £5m for Boyata is incredible money considering the guy is total pish. £1m is a good deal in my eyes. Which takes me to my next point. Whoever turned down £9m for that dumpling needs sacked immediately.

Boyota just dropped his value by being petulant. HE will get his wish to leave but WE won't get his potential value immediately (I believe standard contracts will have the usual add ons)
