This is probably the least gutted I’ve ever been about not reaching the CL. The last 2 years have shown that finishing any higher than 3rd is an impossible task and the consolation prize of the £30m a season for being in it doesn't get spent on quality players anyway.

Half empty stadiums and a hit to the bank balance might make the board wake up.

We are lucky to have Rodgers. Our next manager won't be anywhere near his class. We should be trying to match his aim of improving in Europe by giving him cash not standing still.

Steve Clarke at Kilmarnock, at least he knows how to build a defence.

Agreed we can’t be resting on what we have done domestically we must keep improving on the park and making signings that will allow us to progress. We are becoming far to predictable in our play. We have all been screaming out for a RB and a CH if we had that we would still be in Champions League. BR is a fan but will he stay when he’s not being able to make the improvements required to take us forward? D. D is as much to blame as Lawell.

Steve Clarke behave yourself. Well said LM don't feel that gutted myself, always said we're EL standard in the present climate. The same ones that greet about no being in The Prostitution Cup would be the same ones that greet when we get our arses felt in the competition proper. There were over 100 teams vying for 6 places this season, we missed out this season move on.

To be fair Rodgers record in Europe is absolutely honkin

3 champions league groups (1 with Liverpool)

18 games - 2 wins.

we qualified last 2 years but let's face it, Beer Sheva and Astana away were shocking.

Zenit we collapsed again, who were easily there for the taking. Worst Zenit side in a long time.

Even in the Europa for Liverpool he never won a game, last 32 got beat off Besiktas.

Pretty sure Astana and Beer Sheva both advanced from their Europa League groups after we put them out in the play offs. Not as bad as you think they are.

Steve Clarke? His football would put 60k fans to sleep every week.

Doesn't matter what they achieved. We are always ones to point at another teams budget when they beat us

but Astana, AEK, Beer sheva etc their budgets are tiny in comparison to ours.

So we by our own expectations should be beating them and if they qualify from europa groups then so should we be, with ease.

but we are underspending and downsizing and the word tells you all you need to know.

We have moved down a size to that level, now they teams are our level which is a joke.

The way we’re playing just now is hardly exciting is it? Constant sideways passing.

{Ed007's Note - It does my nut in Andy, we have teams camped out on their 18 yard line and it's constant sideways passing just to keep possession, there's not enough cutting edge or picking out a forward pass or taking someone on to make space etc Rogic is turning into another Kris Commons and just shooting from anywhere, look at the difference when Dembele came on tonight, the whole attacking side of the team came alive and we looked dangerous.}

I think Rodgers has realised that we have became too predictable and changed it up by playing 2 strikers. Its just a shame that we are lucky to have 1 fit at a time never mins 2!

Have to say in hindsight I am happy we have not qualified for the Champions League as a good side would give our defence a real torrid time. Think this would hard to watch. We have better chance home and away in the Europa League. We still need to strengthen and if this isn't done now after last week and tonight it will never happen!
