Hi Ed, media saying we only want 3 signings which I would presume to be Mcginn, Arzani and a RB. What's your thoughts? No Roberts, no CB, no cover for KT.

You think we'll only make the 3? With the 2 names seeming likely and a RB, would love Roberts back but seen rumours he could be set to stay in England and Risgwrs seems to fancy Hayes and Miller as back up for KT.

Rodgers did say back in November that we needed one and we still don't have one bought in. Obviously took the hull boy on trial and supposedly had a look at the Lisbon rb so it's clear we're looking to strengthen that area. I'll be quite disappointed if we don't bring one in!

{Ed007's Note - I know but we've got Lustig, Gamboa, Ralston and he's played Hendry there too, like the CB situation I think it'll take Gamboa leaving- and I reckon Ralston will go out on loan again - for us to sign another RB.
We're stockpiling players and badly need to trim the numbers, having a 30+ man squad is ridiculous and a huge drain on the wage bill. Players like De Vries, Gamboa, Bitton, Compper and Allan need to be moved on, Christie, Kouassi, Benyu, Hayes, Ralston, and Calvin Miller need to either start playing games for us or going out on loan.}

Totally agree, problem is players like Bitton will want to stay because of their wages and Gamboa looks like he could be useful but I think we all know Rodgers wants rid and Lustig just looks too slow to play out there now. Speaking of fringe players I'd love to see Christie get a chance and take it!

{Ed007's Note - We play enough games against teams like Hamilton, Livingston and St Mirren not to mention cup games against lower league teams for the fringe players like Christie to play and show they can step up. I don't mean fill the team with them but have a few of them in the team with regulars and see how things go - it's the only way we'll ever know if they can be Celtic players.}

Agree Ed, we have way too many fringe players. We might have 3 RB’s but we have 2 that are not good enough and one that has been a great servant but no longer has the legs for 60 games a season and will struggle in Europe. Yes Gamboa and Lustig were at the World Cup but would u be happy with either in CL against anyone?

{Ed007's Note - But they're still there so we can't just go out and buy another one, and yes I'd be happy enough with a fully fit Lustig in the CL so why not use Gamboa or Ralston more to allow Lustig to be fully fit for the bigger games? I'm not sure about Ralston but Gamboa could surely handle most of the SPFL?}

Would say there's less than handful that can actually make it here. You heard anything on Roberts? Bit odd to see him come out in the media and then Rodgers to do the same if there was no chance, I highly doubt he'll be at city on Thursday but if he is I further doubt he'll take a loan with option to buy in the championship.

{Ed007's Note - I don't know what's happening with Roberts, there's not been the level of interest in him that he expected but the guy that told me last year he was coming back isn't too sure what's happening.
I'm saying it's 50/50, I wouldn't be surprised if it happens now but I reckon his agent will be working his butt off to get him a move to an half-decent Pub League team.}

Doesn't seem fancied at all, only really played out of necessity. For me, Lustig should be used more centrally just because he can't really get up and down the pitch anymore and just looks so slow now.

If we are going to go with 3-5-2 domestically then a right back isn’t required, with Lustig or Hendry likely to play RCB and Forrest on the wing.

Not sure a 3-5-2 would be a smart move in the CL so likely to go 4 at the back and defending will take priority over attacking in most games so Lustig should be fine.

Next Summer I think it will be the priority position though.

Just thought it was odd that someone stuck their neck out to say Roberts was coming back, which isn't that far fetched, but then went on to say it would be permanent.

Just read that Mcginn is away to England, disappointing if true, guy who said it is usually spot on.
