I have not bought a football strip for about 20 years but was thinking about getting the new Celtic away one as I think it is a belter.

Was also considering getting my kids one as well.

As a result I went to the Celtic shop and must admit was astounded at the prices, especially the kids ones. Needless to say none of us will be getting one as I would not pay the price.

Football tops for all big clubs are expensive, thought this would be common knowledge?
£56 for the team you love is definitely worth it in my eyes!

Prices are a scandal, £40 should be the absolute maximum.

I'm sure some clubs sell their strips for even more exuberant prices than we do but £56 is a lot of money to me as I have a mortgage, bills and kids. I really can't justify spending £142 for 3 football tops.

To me this is just another sign that football is becoming a middle class pursuit as lots of working class people just can't afford to pay that amount of money to wear the strip of their favourite team or buy a season ticket to go and watch their favourite team.

Totally agree raw and kev. I've two kids and it's impossible to buy new kits every year. But it doesn't mean I don't love the club.

I will wait until next season and get this season's away top but may get the kids last season's home top this year as that is a far more reasonable price.

Plus kids tops + season books + European games + travel. Fair enough if you're fortunate enough to not worry about that Pablo but it all adds up for others and then they'll bring out another 3 new kits next season.

I’m sure I bought my kids full strips with there name and no etc at £86 each, and they fall apart if you look at them wrongly.

The football clubs strips are a complete rip off, the mark up must be fantastic/ horrendous, all the supporters should boycott bthem untill the prices come down to a realistic price, but the club's rely on the mugs who will pay anything just to be seen in the latest strip.

Na totally agree kev, I'm like Tam from Still Game when it comes to dosh just for some reason don't bat an eye lid when comes to buying strips, just had my first kid so sure that will soon change! Only really buy the home strip anyway, 3's too many! Refused to buy my newborn the new home kit mind you, but picked up last season for a tenner so happy days!

Smith's in greenock are doing adult tops for 45. Kids are about 10 quid cheaper than anywhere else also.
