Armstrong looks like he's off for a hefty fee. Great business by the club. If what they say is true, we've just banked £7m for a squad player. That's Edouard paid for!

Done well for us, healthy profit and he wants to try something else, good luck to the lad.

Hope we have our usual 10% sell on clause in the deal. so more cash for us.

Not unhappy at that, VVD money covered the Eduoard transfer we usually spend 5 mill close season in the model if we could get the same for Boyata in his last season and recoup our money for Gamboa . We could spend as much as 20 mill close season. Cannot see it myself but it stacks up that way (Y)

It's a good fee, but it's also about the going rate and to be honest what I would have expected with him having a year left. I've seen worse midfielders signed for a hell of a lot more the past couple of years. Southampton have done a turn or two on our players as well so I doubt they'll see playing in Scotland the same way some clubs might. This should really open the door for us to get another quality signing in.

Think once he was fit, Armstrong would be more than a squad player, I would have him as an essential part of the midfield, I hope it's only a rumour that he is away, but if it is true, it means Southampton have got a bargain, and another example of Scottish based players being sold on the cheap compared to the prices lesser English players get transferred for.

What did Armstrong bring last season and what did Eddy bring? The difference is, Eddy sees where he wants to be for the next few years, im not sure Armstrong does. If he wants to go South to a mid table at best mediocre team then so long. No more big European nights, or trophys. He gets exposure in the big EPL, if he's lucky to get off the bench that is.
Good luck to him and I hope it works out. Celtic won't miss him.

Not going to bad-mouth him as he made a fantastic contribution to the 'Invincible' season and was a potential Celtic great - if he had, had our club at heart, which he clearly hadn't and was looking elsewhere for a wee while now. Good luck to him, now we must progress and improve and concentrate on fully committed players.

He was a good player for us. I hate all this ge was a squad player crap. It’s disrespectful and doesn’t sit right. Wish the guy well, acknowledge what he contributed and down play it because he wants to try England. Lacks class.

Good luck Stuart, thanks for your contribution son. Okay great and get us another few bob when you get a move to a better team.

I rate Armstrong as one of the best midfielders I. Britain. If he goes, whatever the fee, I will be gutted.
