Pray tell why are we playing the Republic of Ireland for Broons testimonial? Why not play Derry City and let James McLean strut his stuff at Celtic Park with an appearance by the Derry Pele Paddy McCourt? Go to the Free State and you can't move for EPL tops particularly Man Utd and Liverpool with no interest in Celtic. Go to Derry no EPL tops and Celtic tops galore. Broony could have added the Ryan McBride foundation ex-Derry City player who tragically lost his life to the list of charitable beneficiaries. ☘️.

Depends in the part of the free state you go to, the most of those liverpool and United supporters have Celtic tops, and the part I come from is mostly Celtic tops.
Go outside Dublin and you will see plenty of Celtic tops.

Derry is the best place in Ireland I've visited jfp. It's celtic daft n everyone a met were salt of the earth. It even had the celtic bar with the celtic chippy next door. Kinda agree with leahy tho, outside Dublin celtic tops are not uncommon.

The free state doesn't exist anymore . The free state became R O I about 70 yrs ago and only unionists refer to the ROI as free state .
S Brown's committee could have chosen Derry City as their preferred option . They probably gave all options consideration and decided on R O I.
