I posted last week and said that when the chips are down Dembele would step up and show who the man is and he did that yesterday. Didn't have his best game ever but stuck the ball away when it mattered, unlike El Gruffalo.

{Ed007's Note - I see Dembele's been called up to the French squad for their upcoming friendlies. I thought he had a great game yesterday playing the lone striker, are you forgetting his exquisite pass to set up Edouard too?}

That’s brilliant news! Odd considering his form last season and he couldn’t get a call up. I was very impressed but I just remember his touch being a bit heavy at times when we needed a breather. Hopefully now the “debate” will be put to bed.

Twas a smashing pass! I sometimes think the gaffer gives him a tough job, playing this 1 attacker thing. Edouard was something else again when he came on tho. Would love to see these two starting regularly. I was quite skeptical about the lad, but I think I'd take a punt on him now.

Spot on Ed. I thought Dembele played great and was very unselfish. His work rate was excellent and he pressed their defence well.

The big thing is he timed his run and finished exquisitely. Very clever player.

Edouarde has had very limited game time, but when he is asked to do a job he never let's us down and some of his goals are real quality.
I appreciate we would never spend the apparent asking price of £7m on one player, but I would love us to negotiate a deal to keep him here next season at least - especially if Moussa is leaving?

Why would we never though OaB? PL has said himself we could. And if we did sell Dembele, what would you say? 15, 20, 25 million? If we sold one striker for that much and still weren't prepared to spend 7 on a replacement it would stink something rotten.

7 million will be money well spent. The lads still in his teens and has massive potential under Rodgers. Moussa will go in the summer and hopefully the big man makes the French world cup squad and generate 1 hell of a transfer fee for us.
