The doom n gloom squad have a right to criticise. For a start, We didn’t sign a decent GK in Jan or any defenders who could improve our defence at this level.

We done great last week but it was all for nothing after that shambles of a display that. Brendan got it horribly wrong tonight tactically and In the transfer window. Players mentality is shocking.

Our league performances have been poor as well. Have failed to score in last 2 league games.

Time for the team to show a bit of fight and look interested.

I know Welsbhoy going to let them get on with the whining, they can't be much older than 25 if they think this is a bad Celtic team. A great chance of a double treble and coming out with Shiite like that . Unbelievable.

Stevie, I’m older than 25, and I’ve seen some rubbish teams, that tonight was absolutely amateur, and for anyone who still believes we’re a “major European “ team need to stop looking at the rest of the Scottish league and look at how little money we e invested in this squad.

{Ed007's Note - It seems it's the people that do believe we're a major European team that are the most upset.}

Brendan picked the same team that beat them well last week, the players didn’t turn up, they did everything as badly tonight as they did brilliantly, they gave the ball away cheaply, defended like a primary school team and don’t get me started on Doris, signing him was probably the worst thing Brendan has done, he was pish at Dunfermline a decade ago and should be nowhere near Celtic, given our financial restraints Brendan has done well to get us to the group stages of the CL 2 years in a row and further into the EL this time but we are not good enough, let’s concentrate on winning back to back trebles, the first time it will ever have been done starting at Pittodrie on Sunday with Scott Bain starting in goal 🍀 HH.

exactly ed since when when we a major european team? were the best of a small league with minamal resources compared to the rest of europe and yes we are the best of our lot so enjoy cos that's not always been the case.

{Ed007's Note - It's just a constant search for the most dramatic emotions for some mate. This will go down as the worst, most embarrassing defeat people have ever seen in all their years of watching Celtic - until the next loss of course then that'll become the worst and most embarrassing defeat in all their years of watching Celtic.}

Stevie/ WB, spot on.
I have follwed Celtic since early sixties and I know what some real bad teams we had at times.
I am not destroyed by our performances in Europe but I am very disappointed.
I am also aware of our injury list which contains some players who would have made a big difference both last week and tonight.
I felt we totally controlled the first leg and should have been 3 goals up but, missed chances again.
Most of us were just happy to be in Europe after Christmas.
We never turned up tonight and, unless we improve our defence then, we will never make an impact on Europe.
What I do hate is the fact we are giving the media to deflect from sevco problems while they now talk of OUR crisis.
Also, all those who harp on about BR second season syndrome are having a fiedl day.

Step away from the keyboard lads. Fair enough it was a poor display but it’s like Groundhog Day with the comments on here. 1 week it’s we r great next week massive changes required. IN EUROPE WE R OUT OUT DEPTH 9 TIMES OUT OF 10. That won’t change any time soon, we can’t sign players at 20 million and unless I am wrong zenit have. We play in a finacally struggling league and we can’t lure the top players we all crave because forget paying the heavy fee, the massive wages it about the standard of teams we will play domestically just doesn’t sell it.

22 Feb 2018 22:33:08
I don’t understand your reply Ed, are you saying that im unrealistic in my views of tonight’s game. Are you seriously happy with that performance tonight,

{Ed007's Note - So who believes we are a major European team, it would be them that would be most upset? You're on here saying how rubbish we were tonight but if we're as bad as you're saying why are you surprised by the result? Was it only tonight YOU realised we aren't a major European team any more?}

9.) 22 Feb 2018
22 Feb 2018 23:02:09
That’s nonsense, the problem I have in our team, is how easily we are beaten. I’m not a glory hunter but that tonight was pure pish, and the point I’m making is, if we continue like that we will lose the league.

{Ed007's Note - Read your own posts back.}

bhoy1411 u won't last here that's far too close to the bone of an intlligent post, meamself you're on another planet if u expect much, in europe tonight was the 2ns leg of a europa tie which we were ahead of which we consequently qaulified by being 3rd in a champions league group to me taht progress. yes disappointed by the performance but proud of the achievement.

11.) 22 Feb 2018
22 Feb 2018 23:28:55
The tie could have been put to bed last week if we'd taken our chances but u can't blame Brendan for players missing them. but you can blame him for not rectifying the rb and gk pos as it's been glaring for 2 years now. anx again u can't blame him for the worst i njury list of any team in Britain.

Spot on Bhoy1411, It's the over reaction at a defeat and the over reaction at a win . When we get beat it's words like pathetic, embarrassing and disgraceful get used, a week later it's superb and brilliant. We were trounced by one team in Europe this year PSG who spent 500 million assembling their team, we were well beaten by Bayern who have a team worth 100's of millions and beaten convincingly by Zenit who's team cost around 100 million. The fantasists on here seem genuinely shocked when we don't compete against those sort of sides.

Defo Scott Bain between the sticks on Sunday. De Vries is never a gk! Prob get slated here but I don't rate the boy Ajer at all.

True Ed, we haven't been a European giant for a VERY long time. It's a pity but I still reckon we should be higher up the ladder than we are if the club would have shown some interest (within reason) in investment in the playing squad. HH.

{Ed007's Note - I agree, Bob but you must admit we moved up a rung since last year by being in Europe after Christmas. We've achieved 3 out of our 5 targets for this season and we're still well on course for the other 2. And we've done it with a massive ongoing injury list and a general loss of form throughout the team.
We've got hopefully 14 games left to play this season, if someone had offered you this exact scenario where we are at the start of the season would you have taken it?}

its a shame on here that if you're not in your 50s your opinion is put down. were all tims and react to pish like tonight in different ways. the fact is. that was dire. i put up with the cracked crest etc. doesn't make me more a fan than wee joe that bought his 1st ticket last. sure were all allowed an opinion. some of the superstars on here need to get over themslves.

{Ed033's Note - Why doesn't everyone on here pretend they're in their 50s as no one knows what a poster's real age is anyway? I'm 55 btw 😉

16.) 23 Feb 2018
23 Feb 2018 00:08:49
We'll that was disappointing, however couldn't help but feel as I am sure we all did really. That the failure to put away chances last week would come back to haunt us. The lack of goals is simply down to injuries I would say this season, has affected our return all over the park. Anyway as I said dissapointed as we feel I am sure the players feel similar. Ah well just need to dust ourselves off and focus on the double treble in sight. Da da da da da da da da da. :D.

39 here 007. massive fan of the site and your work, got me through some dark times in iceland. just disappointed its got a bit cliquey at times. were all one mob man. win lose or draw WE ARE ALL GLASGOW CELTIC.

{Ed007's Note - Come on, Gerry how's it getting cliquey? Everybody gets their say and argues their point. You can agree with somebody today and argue the toss with them tomorrow about something thing else. The only clique is our Celtic clique.}

Nobody believed we were a CL team. What we took heart in was Lowell’s statements that we would become one. We will never achieve anything bearvthstvif we don’t fix a shambolic defence. The fact of the matter is we haven’t improved our Achilles heel. That’s what saddens us. Nothing, absolutely nothing has been done to improve it and we have a goalie should not be third never mind first choice.

We improve the defence we move up.

Going to break protocol here and post, i too have stopped posting due to the sheer arrogance and delusional fans of our team. i had this discussion a good few months back about if we didn't match last year our own fans would see it as failure. the fact is that more people on this site are posting stuff about Rangers than their own club makes me sick.

Enjoy Mr. Rodgers while you can naysayers, because its only a matter of time before he leaves, and can you blame him?, why would you stay in a job ( that he has done exceptionally well) when your own fans ridicule and criticise every minute of every day.
