He saw out his contract, the board got the fans to pay the bonus and Larsson buggered off to Barca. I've just always felt there was something not quite right about all of it, especially when guys like Petrov signed a new deal to make sure we got top dollar for them.}

Personally I thought Larsson was the exception and earned the right to leave for nothing. That's my recollection of the player leaving at the time who is the greatest ever Celt for me in half a century of watching your team and mine.

Tbf Larsson was one of the worlds best strikers and gave us 7 of his peak years. Imo he was entitled to leave for free.

much rather 7 years from a world class player, than 2 years and then leave for England.

Even if he had left for 12 million we wouldn’t have seen any of it so I was happy with one last year of henrik. For me that was priceless. The guy could force feed me soor plooms and it still wouldn’t leave a sour taste in my mouth.

Aye ed i attended the farewell game, and glad i did too say goodbye to a legend of the club who i think in todays world showed loyalty to the club and fans, bottles of tears? 😂😂i would have bought them too😂🇮🇪✌️.

I made the wife wear a Celtic kit a henke false face with dreadlocks and head band greatest few minutes of my life then afterwards watched the 6 2 game ;)

Surely though, you need to count money a player earns you from world class performances. Larsson and co put us back on the map in Europe. Stop 10 in a row and make Celtic the dominant side in Scotland again.

Yet you would throw a huff over a transfer fee his performances paid for 10 times over?

I love a purist as much as the next guy but you may need some kalms haha.
