Hi Guys, I have been on site for 19 months reading EVERY SINGLE DAY. First post. Had to reply to this. I couldn't agree more I cry every time I play that song. Used to know the Wakes quite well, Cracking lads. I organised an end of season party/ Charity night in Paradise for about 12 years and they played it for about the last half dozen. Can I just say a big Hail Hail to everyone who posts on the site and a massive thanks to Ed and his gang. 1 last thing. I know everyone says this is such a great time to be a Celtic fan and I totally agree however I'm 50 next year and I've never known a day that wasn't a great day to be a Celtic fan. Faithful through and through.

Stephbhoy singers dad was an art teacher but not a Geordie. He is a jock. Lives in Uddingston. Agree with you. The Wakes are a good band. Talented bhoys.

I never had the privilege of seeing jinky, but ma step da absolutely loved him and constantly talks about him. That di stefanos testimonial game is saved on our sky planner and whenever wee Louie (step da) has had a few, it's on all the time. Would have loved to see him play in the flesh.

There was no Jinky in Jimmy or wee Jimmy's playing career. The Jinky name came years after it .
Jimmy was a fantastic player, the bravest I have ever seen . However, hand on heart, Bobby Murdoch was the greatest of the lot . His vision and range of pass had to be seen to be believed . He also was the most patient of players because when Jimmy decided to dribble Murdoch would position himself behind Jimmy and if by any chance the defenders managed to get ball off Jimmy, it always fell to Bobby who would almost always push ball back to Jimmy who would start his dribble again.

First saw Jinky playing for Celtic reserves against Rangers. A wee matchstick up against bi lumbering Doug Baillie who normally played centre half. I had a great view from the jungle of him turning Baillie inside out. Had never seen anything like it and have never seen anything like it since.
