As Bishop Joe Devine said at TBs funeral he'd like to quote the Scotland manager who said 'The greatest thing about becoming Celtic manager was getting to know Tommy Burns as a friend'. You need more than an ability to play football or manage to be a Celtic legend. Tommy wasn't just a fantastic player who was underrepresented at international level because that's how it was then we played some of the best football I've seen Celtic play under him with Pierre, Cadette, Di Canio and Andreas Thom in the team. Then there's Tommy the man. A man whose life was his faith, family and football. Who even tried to bridge the religious gap by who he requested carry his coffin. Name Lennoxtown after Tommy every day of the week. Name me a Celtic player who is a better role model for the kids we're training there not to mention the effect meeting him had on Brendan Rodgers. Sad to see the subject is even up for debate. ☘️.

There is no better role model JFP. The words hero and legend are vastly overused nowadays but Tommy deserves both wholeheartedly.
