I'm sorry but I don't buy BR's defence of the goal we gave away. He says that's our way of play etc. but there's a time and a place for passing at the back and another for just getting rid of it. Goalkeeper position is becoming a worry.

I'm not even sure what Gordon was attempting. I have nightmares when he's trying to be fancy. He'd already taken on a man in his own box. Scary stuff!

Agree kev. passing the ball out from the back has become more and more common in modern day football, but the chances Gordon takes in practically every game are just staggering to watch some times! Playing one twos in your box with your defenders just shouldn't happen! He's got it into his head that he's somehow become great with the ball at his feel, today proved yet again that he ain't! But I'm afraid we're stuck with him for at least this season!

Lh86 I feel sorry for him sometimes because BR has instructed him to play the short pass but there has to be a level of common sense from the player himself. One-Two, One-Two with Ralston who's just new into the team and then some mis-cued outside of the boot nonsense. Punt it, clear the danger and then try to pass it next time!

This is nothing new from Gordon. Anything other than reaction saves, he's very questionable. It's also the fact that he can't instill much confidence in his outfield defenders.

A goalkeeper should be 1 of our main targets! We sold big Fraser for 10 million and brought in Gordon for zilch! He is a good shot stopper and that's it. Cross balls, Distribution and always beat at his near post is there for all to see over the last few years.

I don't agree. I think the saves he makes are often overlooked and people are desperate to highlight any mistakes. Some are saying that he doesn't instill confidence in the defence, but I think it also has to be considered that constant changes to the defence - through no-one's fault - can have an impact on the goalkeeper, whoever that might be.
It also cannot be denied that he has been told to play the ball out by Rodgers - it is inevitable that it is sometimes going to go wrong, and yes, perhaps sometimes it would be better to smash it away, but the instruction is no secret whatsoever.
The criticism is way over the top in my opinion.

Watch how many he loses this season at his near post it's a glaring fault in his game.
