Afternoon Ed's, Something in the football world needs to be done about transfer fees!

That young keeper that has went from Sunderland and bow there is talk today about Siguurdsson going for the same money (£30 million) who are we kidding? What average player is worth that a mean seriously you look at LG's goals at Hampden last week and if they would have been taken by an English foot we would have been told that was the difference in the leagues!

We need to get a bit of parity to here with the big fan base clubs, the forward thinking clubs all get a chance to do that

What dross are we going to be served up this season when half the EPL teams are mince with circa 20k in attendance eh count them fur fox sake! Crystal Palace, Watford, Burnley, Huddersfield, Brighton, Bournemouth, Swansea, Leicester and Stoke

Southampton have finished 8th because they have two of our best players playing for in recent seasons!

Somebody needs to give the game a right good shake IMO.

{Ed007's Note - The money in the EPL is slowly killing the game and the sooner the big teams all piss off to their European Super League the better as nothing will change until they do. The teams involved in that will still be buying at the same level - probably even higher - but they'll have taken the major TV and advertising revenue with them which will give a better balance to the rest of us. There's no way Sly or BT will pump billions into an English league that doesn't have the likes of Man Utd and Chelsea involved, as yoi same Jamie, there's some amount of dross in that league. I said on the West Ham page the other day when someone took a pop at Leigh Griffiths that LG would score 10-15 goals in the EPL simply because outwith the top 6 teams the league is made up of dross for the money they spend.

Good reading that Ed, Just goes to show why we would never get in the EPL. Would be looking at in excess of £200m easily!

{Ed007's Note - The commercial side of things would explode for Celtic if they were in that league as well as getting the TV money and there would be a significant rise in matchday revenue with the increase of season tickets and corporate income.
It's never going to happen though and I'm glad of that, most of people who moan about the money in the EPL are only upset because their club isn't involved and getting that money. If Celtic joined the EPL, would Celtic fans suddenly stop moaning about the extortionate fees and wages clubs down there pay if we had the finances to spend the same?}

That looks fair and right to me Ed, Do you know it's cheaper for a private box @ Arsenal than it is @ Celtic!

And with Arsenal you get a 10 box @ Celtic you only get 8! so yeah if the TV money was fairer we would excel am happy here but it's the injustice that gets on my goat mate in terms of wtf wants to watch Burnley v Watford or Huddersfield v Brighton and a mean how do you sell that when you see that type of game being pitched it's a laugh!

10 mill for that boy that was @ St Mirren (Mooy? ) It's going crazy mate and at the level we shop @ within 5 yr that will probably dry up scouting will just get harder IMO (y)

{Ed007's Note - The bigger clubs down south are stockpiling youth players, especially Chelsea and City, with the intention that if they don't make it there they will get a decent fee for them which I think helps them to meet the FFP Regs.
Over the last couple of years the only EPL games I go out of my way to watch are the Utd games and I'll watch the big games on my laptop as I edit the sites and watch the live chats going on but I'm with you, there are some amount of fixtures in that league that only really fans of the club will watch, I really can't see the American, Chinese or Middle East customers getting too worked up over the games you mentioned.}

No Ed in between menstrual cramping i reckon they would moan about paying to much lol, Seems like there's just an element of our support that like a good whinge mate.

{Ed007's Note - It's not just Celtic fans though, that English Championship is a cesspit of fans with ideas above their station that as soon as they get into the EPL they think they're Real Madrid after spending season after season decrying everything the EPL represents for years.}

Fans of nearly all EPL clubs continuously sneer at the clubs in the SPL . This is unusual among clubs of other bigger leagues in Europe . Spanish German or Italian club's fans don't sneer and ridicule clubs of much inferior leagues around them . Scottish clubs fan don't sneer at Welsh or Irish clubs on a regular basis .

Just look at Watford earning 100 million a year more than us in tv money. Absolutely taking the piss! Shocking.
