MON's team competed against EBT Utd and boasted the likes of Henrik, Lubo, Stan, Sutton and Hartson - not to mention mjallby, Lenny and bobo; although Douglas will always be the weak link in the Seville Celts.
However. This current team have a good few diamonds yet to reach their prime and play some of the best football we have seen for a long time - and will get even better!
It's all good if you ask me.

And they had Lambert - one of the most underrated players I've ever known. Absolutely superb player. I think O'Neill's team was better, but there are a few of the current team that would make a joint side and it has to be remembered that this team is still in its infancy.

Agree 100% Andy. Paul Lambert was a superb player. Maybe goes under the radar a bit with some people but he was solid, dependable and very much underrated. Exemplary captain and ambassador for the club.

And now to throw my pennies worth in. For me, Martin O'Neill's team all day long. Any team with Henrik in it had a chance. Throw in Sutton, Thompson, Hartson, Stan, Mjallby etc. To be honest I think the majority of this squad would be bench players bar Gordon, Tierney, Sinclair and I definitely would have loved to see Scott Brown in that team. I would have Mjallby, Balde, Joos or even Ulrik Laursen before any of our centre backs.

Two fanstastic squads who have, and can achieve a lot. I don't want to be too critical but if we had any of our keepers since Douglas in goals I think we would have won the UEFA Cup. Wee Lubo would also have also been some asset that night. Complete magician. One of my favourite memories was the wee man trapping the ball with his arse against Hearts at CP.

The Seville team would wipe the floor wae the current team I think. There is players I'd put in the Seville team like yourselves tho, but size wise and technical ability it's a miss match.

halliday is lucky he wasn't playing against o'neill's team after the tackle he put in last week, his jaw would still be wired up after being broken in ten places.

If we're talking under rated players, for me Jackie macnamara tops the list.

Have to agree with u augustus was as solid at lb as he was at rb, but I'm pretty sure he played rw when we played Liverpool in the 2-2 game at celtic park and he tore them a new 1!

As good as kt is and will be, I don't think he would walk into the team if he was competing with tom boyd for the left back slot, now that was an underrated player .

I forgot about Tommy boyd he was even sh*t hot at cb.

No way bobo, simunovics easy, and dembele before Sutton, he is young but he will be a superstar, Sutton was a workmanlike journeyman honest professional, his kind are sadly lacking in football at the minute, but i would have moussa before chris.

Don't even need to think about this one. One team had Henrik, one team doesn't. Simple as that.

Tommy Boyd almost the most overrated Scottish player ever, but then wee Barry Ferguson stole the crown.

Aindoh I can see why you are going for Dembele but Sutton was a great foil for Henrik. What a partnership they were. We have been very lucky to have been blessed with some great strikers over the years.

As for you assessment on Tom Boyd. A bit harsh.

Imo gordon sinclair Tierney broony and dembele would all play in martins team it would be a lot of rotation tho but armstrong wouldn't b far away and a think martin would have liked lustig just my op bhoys.
