I thought Roberts was incredible today and throughout the season, I would see our priority in signing him permanently, if not, another season loan.
Although £12Mill is outside our budget, I can't see him been happy at City in the seconds.

LeedsCelt: The fee for Roberts is about £5-6m it's the possible add ons that could take it to the £12m mark . However as you say will PR be happy to sit in the reserves or worse the under 21s . We need to test the waters they can only say no .

{Ed007's Note - Roberts has no future at City and I don't see City playing silly buggers over a couple of million quid, they're not exactly counting the pennies and they know the market we work in. I think it'll come down to Paddy himself, I don't see any top EPL teams coming in for him and he is enjoying his time up here so hopefully he fancies hanging about for a few more years winning trophies and playing in the CL.
Considering we've paid a loan fee for him I'd slap in a cheeky £4million bid and we won't be far away from City getting their initial outlay back on the player.}

Couldn't agree more ED, Celtic must do all they possibly can to get this boy on a permanent deal. He won't get anywhere near the first team at city, purely down to the money they have and the season they've just had. I'd imagine they'll spend mega in the summer. Like u i think the big factor in it will be if Roberts is willing to hang around in Scotland for another 2/ 3 years, which given his age, given guaranteed first team football, European football and winning trophies, i think it would be a good fit for him. Here's hoping.

{Ed007's Note - There was talk a while back about another loan so we know at least the clubs are talking about him but I'd rather get a permanent deal done to let us make money in the future. We could always offer City a buy-back clause or even a percentage of the future fee because he would certainly go for a big fee if he keeps progressing, especially with CL exposure.
Rodgers signing a new long term contract will also help him decide, he knows how the manager works and exactly what's required from him in a Rodgers team so there would be minimal disruption to his progression as a footballer and he's already settled here in his personal life so no disruption there either.}

I am sure I have posted this a few weeks ago but heard that Roberts had taken out another years lease on the flat he rents so hopefully that's a sign he is happy to stay?

{Ed007's Note - Was that you? I was going to mention that but wasn't sure if I had dreamt it or not! I hope everything's OK with the family btw buddy.}
